Abstract

Introduction: Acne vulgaris is an inflammation of the pilosebaceous follicles that begins to appear when a person reaches adolescence. There are several risk factors that can affect the onset of acne vulgaris such as genetics, hormones, weather, food, cosmetics, P.acnes bacterial infection, and stress. Stress can trigger an increase in androgen hormones that affect the increase in sebum production. Increased sebum can inhibit sebum secretion in pilosebaceous follicles and cause inflammation. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between stress in learning and the incidence of acne vulgaris. Methods: The research method used is a cross-sectional analytic study with a total sample of 71 people. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and observing facial photographs. Research data analysis using SPSS. Results: 49 (69%) female respondents and 22 (31%), majority 53 (74.6%) respondents experienced moderate stress. Based on the assessment of Plewig and Kligman, it was found that most respondents had AV degree 1 as many as 57 (80.3%). The results obtained p value = 0.001 (p < 0.050) Discussion: Medical faculty students have a high-stress level which impacts their physical and mental health. Stress can worsen acne by increasing the secretion of androgen hormones and can cause sebaceous gland hyperplasia Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of stress in learning with the incidence of acne vulgaris in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Tarumanagara University Class 2018.

Abstract

The manufacture of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) which is done by heating is considered less effective because the quality of VCO produced is not good and also requires expensive production costs. Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is a processed product from coconut that has many benefits if processed properly, which is one of the reasons VCO has a promising target market, so further research needs to be done on the process of making VCO so that it can produce quality products. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of garlic extract (Allium sativum), lime (Citrus aurantifolia swingle), and yeast tape (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) on Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) products and to know the process of making VCO simply by fermentation and acidification to save production costs. Fermentation is the process of making VCO using the help of bacteria, in this study used Saccharomyces cerevisiae, while the manufacture of VCO by acidification is the manufacture of VCO with the addition of acidic substances, in this study used lime. The processing of VCO by fermentation or acidification in this study does not go through a stirring process, but is allowed to stand for 8-10 hours until three layers are formed, namely water, oil, and blondo which will then be separated to obtain the desired product (VCO). The addition of garlic extract in the process of making VCO by fermentation is thought to be able to eliminate the rancid odor in the resulting product, this is proven to be true after the results obtained from the VCO manufacturing process show that VCO given the addition of garlic extract does not smell rancid but a little smell of garlic mixed with delicious savory coconut. Overall, making VCO by fermentation using tape yeast, adding garlic extract, and acidification using lime produces VCO products that are clear in color and do not smell rancid so that the results of VCO can be categorized as good. In addition to the conventional process that is often done, making VCO can also be done by fermentation and acidification as done by researchers. In the process of making VCO by acidification, researchers need to ensure that the pH is in an appropriate state.

Abstract

Horticultural commodities are still active in carrying out their metabolic activities after being harvested. Pakcoy vegetables easily experience quality deterioration or damage (perishable) which causes their shelf life to not last long (2-4 days). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of storage techniques on the quality of pakcoy vegetables and the effect of pakcoy concentration on the physical and sensory properties of hot juice (pakchoy pineapple). The research was carried out through experiments consisting of two studies, namely evaluating the effect of storage techniques on the quality of pakcoy vegetables and evaluating the effect of concentration of pakcoy on the sensory quality of hot juice (pineapple pakcoy). The best pakcoy storage technique can be done by using wrap or polypropylene packaging, without removing the roots. The higher the concentration of pakcoy, the higher the TPT of hot juice. A significant difference occurred at a concentration of 20%. Sensory-wise, hot juice with 20% pakcoy concentration was the most preferred, with a color score of 3.7 (like), taste 3.7 (like), aroma 3.6 (like) and texture 3.3 (neutral).

Abstract

The Village Government plays a role in the management and implementation of government in the Village in order to realize village autonomy. The purpose of this research we are conducting is to find out how big the role of the Regional Government is in tackling waste on Jln RS Haji Medan Estate. The method in this research is descriptive research using the qualitative, where the data and information related to research issues obtained through literature studies and field visits are analyzed qualitatively, to then be interpreted according to the meaning contained in the data and information. Medan will have a bad impact on the surrounding residents. After investigating more deeply, it turns out that the village government does not care about the community, because garbage that is allowed to accumulate and scatter can be a source of disease for Medan Estate villagers. However, the material contained in the Village Head's decision letter has not been systematically which is in accordance with the standards of environmental management and protection as stipulated in Law No. 32 of 2009 concerning environmental protection and management. Therefore, we would like to review why the local government does not set special rules in the village so that it does not dispose of waste carelessly which is out of place.
