Abstract

This study attempts to show how quizizz-based microlearning has affected the cognitive learning outcomes for basic physics. 39 students participated in the activity that was the focus of this study. A pretest-posttest design with one group was the research methodology used in this study. Methods for gathering data that involve tests. The normality test and paired sample T-test were applied during the data analysis process. The paired sample t-test yielded data of 0.00, indicating that the use of Quizizz-based microlearning had an impact on the cognitive learning outcomes for basic physics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Socioscientific Issue (SSI) learning in class VIII science lessons at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This study uses a description method by observing the learning that researchers do. Observations were made by three observers who observed the learning process by filling out observation sheets regarding the learning process from the opening, this activity, to the closing of the lesson. The sample of this research was 32 students of class VIII A at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. The research data that has been obtained is analyzed in the form of percentages and then described descriptively. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the implementation of Socioscientific Issue (SSI) learning has been carried out well, seen from the implementation carried out by the teacher with a percentage of implementation of 92%, but in practice there are students who are not focused and feel bored in learning so that the expected abilities are not achieved.

Abstract

The learning model is needed so that students can actively research and properly apply the subject matter. POEa is one of them. Utilizing POE as a teaching method can help students learn science. The POE learning model is the subject of this study's literature review. This study tries to ascertain whether educating junior high school students using the POE (Predict, Observe, Explain) paradigm will increase their understanding of scientific concepts. Next, we organize each section by broad topic. Based on selected publications, research data. According to research results, using the POE learning method can improve students' understanding of scientific ideas, help them approach science critically, and improve their academic achievement.

Abstract

One of the important skills for students to improve is critical thinking skills because it can make it easier for students to master the material and apply it in everyday life. However, based on research results, PISA results, and the findings of the Ministry of National Education, it shows that elementary school students' critical thinking skills in science subjects are still low. This is because learning is still teacher-centered and stimulus in the form of appropriate learning media is not used during the learning process. As an alternative to overcome this problem, teachers can use a contextual learning model (Contextual teaching and learning, CTL) with the help of Powerpoint-based 3D animation learning media. In this study, researchers used quantitative methods with experimental research types and Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were all fifth grade students in Cibogo Village. The sample of this study consisted of 38 students from class V SDN 1 Cibogo and class V SDN Ciburial. Class V at SDN Ciburial was designated as the experimental class and class V at SDN 1 Cibogo as the control class.

Abstract

This research is based on problems in science learning, namely students' lack of interest in reading. One way to increase students' reading interest is by using creative, innovative and interactive learning media. Therefore, this research was carried out by developing a product in the form of a Science E-Comic on the theme, let's get to know the human respiratory and excretory organ systems. This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of products in the form of Science E-Comics on the theme, let's get to know the human respiratory and excretory organ systems. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) or development research using the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analyze, design, development, Implementation, and evaluation. Considering the limited time and costs, this research was limited to the implementation stage. The results of the IPA E-Comics validity score of 0.89 are in the very valid category. The practicality of IPA E-Comics obtained an average score of 0.94, which is in the very high category. The effectiveness of IPA E-Comics obtained a fairly large N-Gain score, namely 0.70, which is included in the high category. Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that Science E-Comics are declared very valid, very practical and effective in increasing students' reading interest in science learning.

Abstract

The development of the times requires every country to have rapid progress. Good education produces quality human resources. The influence of education plays a very important role in the human resources produced. Education continues to change according to the times. Innovation continues to be carried out in order to provide better quality education, both in learning models and learning strategies. Learning carried out by schools does not only focus on models but must choose the right strategy where students are trained to independently seek and find solutions to each problem found in learning. One strategy that can be applied in learning is problem solving learning strategies. Type of Quasi-Experimental research or quasi-experimental research. This Quasi Experimental Research aims to see whether or not there is an effect of giving certain treatments to the study group. The research design that will be used is a Pretest-Posttest control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The sample consisted of an experimental class applying problem solving learning strategies and a control class applying conventional learning models. Based on hypothesis testing which has been carried out with the help of Microsoft Excel using the U test technique with a significance level of 5%. The obtained values for are -4.67 and -1.96. Then H₁ is accepted and H₀ is rejected. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the use of problem solving learning strategies influences the learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 15 Padang City.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze students’ knowledge, experience and interest regarding science practical demonstration videos, as well as students’ knowledge about critical thinking. Questionnaire was used to collec the data. Data analysis was carried out by the descriptive statistics. The research result show that 58% of students are interested in the video, 58% of students experience difficulties if they do not use practical videos in learning, 17% of students have already carried out practical work, 25% of students already know about practical demonstration videos and 92% of students are enthusiastic if teachers use these videos as learning media. From the aspect of students experience and knowledge about critical thinking, 8% of students have heard about critical thinking and 25% of students already know that critical thinking is. In the aspect of students’ interest in practical demonstration video, 83% of students are interested in learning using video demonstrations and 100% of students agree that the video contains a demonstrator, voice acting, animation, images, supporting text and backsound.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka was implemented in 2022. The characteristics of the kurikulum merdeka were the development of soft skills and character, focus on essential materials, and flexible learning. The low learning outcomes of students were still a problem. One of the efforts that can be done was to apply the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment on the learning outcomes of grade VIII students on organ system material. This type of research was Quasi Experiment, with a Non Equivalent Control Group Design research design. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The experimental class used the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment while the control class used conventional methods. Based on the hypothesis test with the t test, the calculated value = 2.654 and ttable = 2.006. From the data shows that if tcalculate > ttable, h1 was accepted, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by performance assessment on the cognitive learning outcomes of grade VIII students on organ system material.

Abstract

Science learning at this time is one of the lessons that according to some students is classified as fun and there are also some who think science is a difficult lesson. On this basis, this study aims to identify students' interest in learning at SMP N 25 Padang. This research is a descriptive research. The research subjects were class VIII students. The data of this study were obtained through questionnaires distributed to VIII grade students of SMP N 25 Padang. The questionnaire data was analyzed with descriptive statistics. After reviewing several previous studies, it shows that if the learning design is adjusted to students' learning interests, then learning can run optimally. The results of this study show that students prefer the group discussion method in learning. In addition, students also feel more active when given challenging questions. Then, students feel interested in learning science if there are practicum activities (experiments) in it.
