Abstract

This study aims to explore the practices and impact of transformational school leadership within the context of Indonesian education. Using a qualitative research design, the study employed semi-structured interviews with school principals, administrative staff, and teachers to gather in-depth insights into leadership behaviors, challenges, and outcomes. The data were analyzed using NVivo 12 software, following thematic coding techniques to identify recurring themes and relationships. The findings reveal that transformational leadership positively influences educational outcomes, school climate, and organizational effectiveness. Leaders who demonstrated clear vision, empathy, and the ability to motivate others contributed to enhanced student achievement, innovative teaching practices, and improved institutional performance. Despite these benefits, school leaders also face significant challenges, including limited resources, internal resistance, and external stakeholder constraints. However, these challenges can be navigated through strategies such as inclusive leadership, collaborative problem-solving, and investment in professional development. This study concludes that transformational leadership holds considerable promise for driving educational improvement and development in Indonesia. It underscores the importance of leadership training and policy support to cultivate leaders who can inspire change, adapt to contextual complexities, and build resilient school communities.

Abstract

The study aims at uncovering the factors that influence the early productivity of lecturers in writing scientific articles. The main problem under review is how the early writing experience shapes the continuity of academic productivity. In conducting the study, the qualitative approach of Grounded Theory was used with the data gathered from in-depth interviews with 18 lecturers throughout Indonesia. The research participants were purposively selected and were interviewed in stages by means of theoretical sampling. Then, the data were analyzed by using ATLAS.ti, and the data validity was tested by using method and theory triangulation. The results of the study show that publication productivity does not take place naturally but is shaped through social intervention, personal strategy, technology mastery, academic literacy, reading habit, and target stipulation. These results highlight the need to foster a supportive academic ecosystem to sustain lecturers’ writing productivity over time.

Abstract

Religious intolerance is rising globally, including in Indonesia, a pluralistic nation with over 600 ethnic groups and six official religions. Ironically, cases of intolerance have emerged even in Yogyakarta, an educational and cultural barometer renowned for its local wisdom of tepa selira (mutual respect). This study investigates how elementary school teachers in Yogyakarta, Indonesia understand and internalize religious tolerance in classroom practices. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, FGDs, and document analysis involving 20 teachers from 10 diverse elementary schools. Findings indicate that most teachers focus on cognitive outcomes and struggle to assess tolerance in the affective domain. However, one multicultural school Pelangi Elementary demonstrates an alternative approach by emphasizing shared human values such as kindness, gratitude, and togetherness, and by removing formal religious instruction to foster inclusivity. The school integrates dialogical pedagogy, parental involvement, and community engagement, making tolerance a lived experience rather than a theoretical concept. This study concludes that religious tolerance education in diverse societies must move beyond textbooks toward character-based, participatory learning rooted in local wisdom and inclusive practice. The Pelangi model offers a promising strategy adaptable to other pluralistic contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and develop the Value Clarification Technique of Law (VCTL) learning model to strengthen high school students’ understanding of digital rights and responsibilities in Padang City. While students have the freedom to access internet technology, they are also expected to use it responsibly and respect the rights of others in digital spaces. The development of the VCTL model was motivated by the growing concern over students’ unwise behavior in using the internet, highlighting the need for an educational approach that fosters ethical awareness and value-based decision-making. This research adopts a Research and Development (RD) methodology using the ADDIE model, which includes the phases of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The final product is a model book designed to assist teachers in implementing the VCTL approach in high school classrooms. The findings indicate that the VCTL model effectively enhances students’ digital responsibility by engaging them in structured value clarification processes anchored in legal and ethical considerations. The model encourages students to critically choose, clarify, and act upon values related to digital citizenship.

Abstract

In learning activities, creativity is an important aspect, where students can improve and develop their creative talents and abilities in thinking creatively. In grade III students of Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin Elementary School, Wonosari, there are still some students who are less interested in music art subjects. This study aims to determine the effect of theValue Clarification Technique  (VCT) learning model on the musical creativity of grade III students, the efforts made by class teachers to improve musical creativity. This study is a descriptive quantitative study using an experimental method. The research design used is Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design design with a sample of 24 students. Data collection techniques use test and non-test techniques, such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data is processed using instrument validation and instrument reliability. The results of this study can be seen through the results of the hypothesis test with the Paired Sample t-test technique processed using the IBM SPSS for Windows version 30.0 program, the Sig value (2 Tailed) was obtained at 0.000, which means the Sig value 0.05, which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model has an effect on the student’s outcome’s ability to play music creativity of grade III students in Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin Elementary School, Wonosari.
