Abstract

Pregnancy is one of the important periods that requires special attention to maintain the health of the mother and fetus. One of the efforts made to monitor health during pregnancy is through antenatal care (ANC) visits. The compliance of pregnant women in conducting ANC visits is influenced by various factors, one of which is community support. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between community support and compliance with antenatal care (ANC) visits in pregnant women. Methods: This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Articles are obtained through Google Scholar and national and international journals relevant to the research topic. The selection of articles was carried out based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, then analyzed according to the research objectives. Results: The results of the literature review showed that the support of husbands, families, health cadres, and the community had a significant relationship with compliance with ANC visits in pregnant women. The support provided is in the form of emotional, informational, motivational, and mentoring support that helps increase the awareness of pregnant women to carry out routine pregnancy checkups. In addition, pregnant women's classes and community-based health education also help increase the use of maternal health services. Conclusion: Community support has an important role in improving compliance with ANC visits in pregnant women so that it can support maternal and fetal health during pregnancy.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health is an important aspect of physical, psychological, and social development. Biological changes in adolescence can give rise to a variety of different reproductive health complaints between males and females. This condition has the potential to be related to psychological distress, especially if adolescents experience worries, discomfort, or limited access to information and health services. This study aims to analyze the differences in reproductive health risks and psychological distress between adolescent boys and girls. The study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample amounted to 198 adolescents, consisting of 72 adolescent boys and 126 adolescent girls. Reproductive health variables were measured through the components of C1 general conditions, C2 specific men, C3 specific women, C4 health care behaviors, and total reproductive health risks. Psychological distress was measured using the K10 adaptation instrument. Bivariate analysis was performed using Chi-Square, Mann-Whitney, and Spearman correlation tests. The results showed that there was a significant difference in reproductive health risks based on sex with a p value of < 0.001. Adolescent girls are more in the category of moderate reproductive health risk than boys. Psychological distress was also significantly different between males and females with a p< value of 0.001. Adolescent girls show a higher proportion of severe distress than boys. Total reproductive health scores and distress scores were also higher in adolescent girls. These findings point to the need for gender-sensitive reproductive health and mental health interventions in school settings.

Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is an essential service in an effort to improve maternal and infant health, but pregnant women's compliance with ANC visits is still a challenge in many countries, especially in areas with limited access to health services. The development of digital technology through mobile health (mHealth) offers innovative solutions to improve compliance through digital reminders, health education, and communication between pregnant women and health workers. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mHealth in improving antenatal care adherence in pregnant women through a systematic literature review approach. The study was conducted by examining ten relevant scientific articles from various academic databases, including systematic review, meta-analysis, scoping review, and implementation studies in various countries, including Indonesia. The results of the synthesis showed that mHealth interventions were consistently able to improve ANC visit adherence, both in the form of increasing the frequency of visits, the timeliness of examinations, and the continuity of pregnancy monitoring. SMS reminder-based interventions and mobile applications are the most dominant and effective forms, especially in the context of health services with limited access. This research confirms that mHealth has significant potential in supporting digital-based maternal health service transformation. The implications of these findings show the need to integrate mHealth technology in the primary health care system to improve the quality and coverage of antenatal care in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological process accompanied by various anatomical, hormonal, biomechanical, and psychological changes that often cause discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, low back pain, leg cramps, fatigue, constipation, sleep disturbances, edema, and anxiety that can affect the quality of life of pregnant women. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of various nonpharmacological interventions in reducing discomfort during pregnancy through a systematic literature review approach. This study uses the PRISMA 2020 guidelines in the process of identifying, selecting, and synthesizing scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar with a publication range of 2021–2026. The articles analyzed included experimental, quasi-experimental, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses that discussed interventions such as antenatal yoga, acupressure, massage, deep breathing relaxation, aromatherapy, and mindfulness in pregnant women. The results of the synthesis showed that nonpharmacological interventions consistently had a positive impact in reducing physical and psychological complaints during pregnancy, including a decrease in pain intensity, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, as well as improved sleep quality and comfort of pregnant women. The working mechanism of this intervention is related to the regulation of the autonomic nervous system, increased relaxation, and modulation of physiological stress responses. In conclusion, nonpharmacological interventions are a complementary approach that is effective, safe, and potentially integrated in evidence-based obstetric care to improve maternal well-being during pregnancy.

Abstract

Body scrubs from natural ingredients are one of the right choices as well as can support the back to nature program. One of the natural ingredients that contains antioxidants is coffee grounds waste. This study aims to characterize the physical stability of body scrub formula with coffee grounds. The research method carried out includes two stages, namely the preparation of body scrub cream preparations and the evaluation of its physical properties. The results of the study showed that the lemon, honey, and aloe vera variants got a normal pH, namely 4-6. For the best pH, it is indicated by the aloe vera variant with a value of 5.9 to 6. The results of the skin irritation test showed that all variants of the scrub showed no signs of skin irritation after testing. This indicates that the formulation is safe to use topically. For organelliptic test results, all variations appeared normal. However, the formula still needs to be optimized for the body scrub base so that it can be tested with more detailed tests.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health is a public health issue requiring promotive, preventive, and youth-friendly service approaches. National studies indicate that knowledge, attitudes, media exposure, school support, parental roles, and the availability of adolescent-friendly health services such as PKPR and youth information and counseling centers such as PIK-Remaja influence adolescent reproductive health behavior. This article aimed to synthesize determinants and improvement strategies for adolescent reproductive health based on five Indonesian articles published between 2019 and 2023. A systematic literature review with narrative synthesis was applied. The reviewed articles included cross-sectional quantitative studies, a qualitative study, and community service articles addressing adolescent sexual behavior, sexual media exposure, PKPR utilization, PIK-Remaja, reproductive health education, peer cadres, and parental involvement. The synthesis identified four major themes: (1) knowledge alone is insufficient to prevent risky sexual behavior without attitude formation, social control, and media literacy; (2) PKPR services should be youth-friendly, confidential, and culturally sensitive; (3) PIK-Remaja, peer cadres, and reproductive-health-oriented schools are effective educational and mentoring channels; and (4) promotion, reproductive health education, and parental roles contribute to better adolescent service utilization. In conclusion, adolescent reproductive health improvement requires an integrated model based on schools, families, youth-friendly health services, digital media literacy, and peer counselor strengthening

Abstract

This article examines how Jompet Kuswidananto formulates a counter-hegemonic aesthetics through installation works that combine spectral figures, sonic orchestration, and material icons to challenge dominant narratives of history and Javanese-Indonesian identity in the post-New Order era. The research data consist of in-depth interviews with Jompet (2024-2025), exhibition documentation, and secondary literature. The analysis focuses on Java's Machine: Phantasmagoria (2008), which presents a parade of “ghost soldiers” and hybridises marching-band sounds with Javanese symbols, and on After Voices (2016), which articulates political memory and collective movement. The findings reveal three principal counter-hegemonic aesthetic devices: (1) spectrality, which reactivates historical trauma and destabilises the authority of representation; (2) sonic-politics, which inserts irony into militaristic and nationalist forms of discipline; and (3) symbolic iconoclasm, exemplified by the use of crystal chandeliers as allegories for the collapse of colonial power. Drawing upon Antonio Gramsci's theory of hegemony, Stuart Hall's concept of representation, and Claire Bishop's writings on installation art, this study demonstrates that Jompet’s works create a space for negotiating meaning, enriching the discourse of contemporary art in Southeast Asia. This article contributes to cultural studies by proposing the “Three S” matrix (spectrality, sonic politics, and symbolic iconoclasm) as an analytical framework for examining counter-hegemonic strategies in installation art

Abstract

Work-life balance and employee well-being represent critical imperatives in contemporary manufacturing human resource management, where intensive production demands and shift-based systems create inherent tensions between organizational productivity and worker welfare. This qualitative case study examines the implementation of work-life balance and its multidimensional impact on employee well-being at PT Knauf Plasterboard Indonesia Cilegon Plant a representative Indonesian manufacturing facility operating under high-pressure production conditions, through in-depth interviews with 15 purposively-selected employees (encompassing operational shift workers, administrative non-shift personnel, and HR management), direct workplace observations, and systematic document analysis, this research reveals nuanced dynamics between organizational policies and lived employee experiences. Findings demonstrate that while structured working hours, rotation shift systems, and welfare facilities provide foundational support for work-life balance, persistent high production targets pose significant challenges that undermine its effectiveness. The study establishes that enhanced work-life balance correlates positively with the physical, psychological, and social well-being dimensions, though variations in work intensity moderate these relationships. Research contributions include empirical evidence from underexplored Indonesian manufacturing contexts and actionable recommendations for reconciling productivity imperatives with sustainable employee well-being practices.
