Abstract

Old age is a phase of life characterised by a decline in biological, psychological, and social functions, making individuals vulnerable to various health disorders, including sleep disorders (insomnia). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Benson relaxation training in overcoming sleep disorders in the elderly. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subject was a 68-year-old woman who experienced insomnia and anxiety due to psychological stress and traumatic life experiences. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and psychological tests (DASS-42 and graphic tests), which were then analysed to obtain a comprehensive picture of the subject's condition. The intervention, in the form of Benson relaxation technique training, was conducted over seven consecutive sessions, each lasting seven days. The results showed a significant improvement in the subject's sleep quality, marked by an increase in sleep duration, an anxiety reduction, and improved concentration and physical condition. The subject reported that Benson relaxation was easy to do independently or with family and provided a lasting calming effect. Thus, Benson relaxation can be an effective non-pharmacological intervention alternative for treating sleep disorders in the elderly.

Abstract

The construction of the Mantuil 09 Bridge in Banjarmasin is a complex project that requires precise time planning to avoid delays. This study uses Microsoft Project to develop the schedule, identify the critical path, and simulate solutions for delays caused by the late delivery of Grade 345 structural steel materials. The results show that the initial project duration was 215 calendar days with 27 critical activities. After simulating the delay, the project duration increased to 221 days, and the number of critical activities decreased to 21. Solutions such as overtime and changes to working hours successfully returned the project duration to 215 days, in line with the original schedule.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of human rights (HR) complaints in Indonesia by using complaint data from January to June 2025. The research method combines descriptive quantitative analysis including frequency tabulations, proportions, temporal trends, and cross-tabulations with qualitative interpretation based on collaborative governance and public value governance theories. The results show that land disputes constitute the dominant issue, followed by abuses of authority by security forces, labor-related disputes, and environmental concerns. Corporations and security apparatus are identified as the most frequently reported actors, while the geographical distribution of complaints is concentrated in Jakarta, West Java, and North Sumatra, with distinctive patterns observed in Papua and East Kalimantan. Cross-tabulation analysis further reveals the correlation between issues and actors or regions, such as land disputes often involving corporations, and environmental issues prevailing in resource-rich areas. These findings reinforce the empirical literature on human rights complaint management and affirm the relevance of collaborative governance theory in addressing multi-actor conflicts. The study also highlights the importance of metagovernance to orchestrate diverse actors, as well as digital governance innovations to broaden accessibility to complaint channels. The novelty of this research lies in its attempt to connect the empirical dynamics of HR complaints with contemporary governance frameworks, thereby contributing both to the advancement of public administration theory and to the formulation of human rights protection policies in Indonesia

Abstract

This study evaluates the strategic partnership between PT PAL Indonesia and Naval Group in developing the Scorpène Evolved submarine, applying the Absorptive Capacity framework combined with SWOT analysis. A qualitative approach based on systematic literature review was employed to assess four ACAP dimensions acquisition, assimilation, transformation, and exploitation and to map internal and external strategic factors. The findings indicate that, compared to the previous collaboration with DSME, the Naval Group project offers higher ACAP potential, particularly in knowledge acquisition and assimilation, supported by full involvement in design and construction as well as the establishment of a joint R&D center. Integration of domestic suppliers and adaptation of designs for tropical conditions strengthen the transformation dimension, while export prospects and technology spin-offs enhance exploitation opportunities. The SWOT analysis positions PT PAL in a relatively strong strategic stance, with its main strengths, local production from the first unit, joint R&D capability, and domestic supply chain integration enabling the acceleration of co-design, local manufacturing, and market expansion. Key recommendations include reinforcing dual-sourcing strategies to enhance supply chain resilience, developing critical components through co-development initiatives, and implementing capacity-building programs for specialized human resources. This integrated approach provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating technology transfer effectiveness in defense projects, offering both academic insights and practical guidance for sustaining competitiveness in the maritime defense industry.

Abstract

This study examines the utilization of Family Medicinal Plants in Bangkingan Village, Surabaya City, and identifies obstacles and strategies for community empowerment based on Suharto’s (2005) 5P theory: possibility, strengthening, protection, support, and maintenance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research adopts a case study of the Bangkingan Herbal Corner program, a local initiative for developing Family Medicinal Plants (FMP). The findings indicate that the Bangkingan community actively uses various medicinal plants—such as sung nyawa, ginger, moringa, and temulawak—processed into herbal infusions and simple preparations. These practices are facilitated through training programs organized by universities and the use of digital platforms offering practical and educational resources. Strategies related to possibility and strengthening have been effectively implemented, as evidenced by the establishment of local herbal cadres and increased access to learning materials. However, significant challenges persist in terms of legal protection, institutional support, and long-term sustainability. The absence of clear regulatory frameworks, consistent funding mechanisms, and integration into formal village development planning hinder the program’s scalability and resilience. Multi-stakeholder collaboration, involving government agencies, academia, private sector actors, and local communities, is essential to address these gaps and ensure sustainable outcomes. This study concludes that the FMP-based empowerment model implemented in Bangkingan holds strong potential for replication in other regions, provided that adequate policy and institutional support are secured to sustain its impact over time.

Abstract

This study presents phatic communication in the practice of storytelling using local children's stories with autistic students at SLB Woha, Bima, NTB. The background of this research lies in the low level of social communication engagement among autistic children, which requires a relational rather than purely informational approach. The research aims to understand how the functions of phatic communication initiating, maintaining, and closing social relations are carried out through local story media such as Kuda Rawa and The Legend of Tambora. The main theoretical framework includes phatic communication theory (Malinowski, Jakobson) and the concept of storytelling as a culturally contextual educational and relational strategy. A qualitative case study method is employed, involving three subject groups: special education teachers, parents of students, and local religious leaders (ustaz). Data collection techniques include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and visual documentation. Data is analyzed using thematic descriptive analysis. Findings show that phatic communication through storytelling is effective in building emotional connections, enhancing social responses, and fostering a sense of security. Theoretically, the study extends the application of phatic theory in special education; practically, it supports the development of teaching media based on local culture. In conclusion, local storytelling serves not only as an educational tool but also as a social bridge for autistic children in the context of inclusive education.

Abstract

In the post-truth era, social capital, which is the ability of people to work together and achieve common goals, faces major challenges. The spread of inaccurate information, polarization, and a lack of trust in institutions pose serious threats to social cohesion and the ability of people to act together. This paper attempts to elaborate on the importance of strengthening social capital among Muslims in facing the post-truth era. Several studies have found that the challenges faced by Muslims in the post-truth era include conflict among Muslims due to ideological differences, the strengthening of the takfiri movement, and the misuse of information technology to spread hate speech and hoaxes. These challenges need to be responded to by strengthening the principles of Islam as rahmatan lil alamin (blessing for all the universe), taawun (conformity), and tabayun (religious tolerance)

Abstract

This study discusses the Islamic-based Social Media Marketing (SMM) strategy for the JSR (Jurus Sehat Rasulullah) herbal products initiated by Zaidul Akbar, within the context of marketing that integrates Islamic social marketing values and the concept of thibbun nabawi. The background of this research stems from the growing public interest in herbal products and the need for a marketing approach that aligns with sharia values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of Islamic values in the marketing communication strategy of JSR herbal products on social media and its impact on Muslim consumers' trust and loyalty. The study adopts the theory of Islamic social marketing, which emphasizes dakwah (Islamic preaching), ethics, and societal benefit, along with the thibbun nabawi approach as the foundation of the product. The method used is Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) to analyze interactions and marketing content on JSR Herbal's digital platforms, including Instagram and TikTok. The research findings indicate that the use of Islamic narratives, health education in the style of the Prophet Muhammad, and consumer testimonials increase engagement and trust among the Muslim audience. The study concludes that the Islamic-based SMM strategy is effective in building Muslim consumer loyalty toward JSR herbal products. The implication is that sharia-based herbal business actors need to integrate spiritual values into their communication strategies on social media

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of tunachism farmers in Mowila District, South Konawe, as a real portrait of land loss due to structural poverty and urgent economic pressure. With a qualitative approach and case study strategy, this study found that land loss is not only due to market mechanisms but is triggered by unequal power relations between the state, corporations, immigrant elites, and weak local institutional protections. Using access theory (Ribot & Peluso, 2003) and Paulo Freire's (1970) critical education approach, this study uncovers how farmers' access to land is restricted, while structural awareness and collective resistance have not been able to keep up with external dominance. The theoretical contribution of this research lies in the integration between access theory and critical education in explaining agrarian marginalization. In practical terms, the study emphasizes the importance of strengthening local institutions, peasant solidarity, and transformative agrarian policies to achieve agrarian justice and village socio-ecological resilience
