Abstract

Living Quran studies various social events related to the Koran, which has become a tradition in forming a local entity. This study explores the living Quran, which contains interpretations through digital media on the Instagram account @QuranReview. This study examines the netizen's response to posts regarding the interpretation in the @QuranReview account post. Amid the trend of interpreting the Koran on social media, the @QuranReview account has succeeded in attracting the attention of netizens through the presentation of religious content in the form of interpretation with the style of language, diction, and nuances typical of the millennial generation. The analysis structure used in this research is descriptive analysis based on a socio-anthropological approach. The findings from this study are that the netizen's response to the commentary in the @QuranReview Instagram account has three effects that can provide benefits to netizens, including cognitive products that can offer new insights in understanding interpretations, then practical effects that can directly cause aesthetic and emotional dimensions when Netizens deeply interpret performance and the behavioral results that can make changes in the behavioral perspective netizens even more.

Abstract

One of the hardest things apart from a mufassir when interpreting the Qur'an is mazhab's fanaticism, but al-Qurtubi can point out that it can be overcome. This led to the study's being done, the purpose of the study was to uncover public methodology and typical methodology (manhaj) al-Imam al-Qurtubi in his interpretation. Besides, it was also meant to look at a correlation of his written interpretation of al-Qurtubi with manhaj tafsir that it did. The study is also trying to describe the effect of philosophical thinking on the interpretation of al-Qurtubi, since fiqh is an Islamic science based on proper and rational thinking. To achieve these objectives, the methods used are descriptive analysis and book research, so the study counts as qualitative research. The data used is qualitative, either primary or secondary data. The study resulted in several findings, i.e., al-Qurtubi applied a precise interpretation methodology, both types of interpretive source, the tahlili interpretation method, and the fiqh approach in each text considered; at least five manhaj interpretations indicated by al-Qurtubi; and  al-Qurtubi also employed a method of rational thought in its interpretation, which is shown by the results of induced thinking and the similarity of the objectives between manhaj tafsir and philosophy.

Abstract

Living Quran in terminology means the Qur'an that lives on par with the term Qur'an in everyday life, namely the Qur'an that lives amid everyday life. The primary objectives of this research are 1) Knowing the essence of the content of Surat al-Mulk and Al-Waqi'ah, 2) Studying the correlation of Surat Al-Mulk and Surat Al-Waqi'ah with the concept of life, 3) Knowing the responses of the Jambu Islamic Boarding School students al Islamy against the habit of reading Surat Al-Mulk and Al-Waqi'ah. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation instruments. The results of this study are as follows: First, the main points of Surah Al-Mulk consist of life, death, trials for humans, God's power in creating a multi-layered sky, God's command to pay attention to the universe, the threat of doom for people. Kafir, God's promise to the believers, God's warning to people who disobey Him. The contents of the letter Al-Waqiah tell about how the story happened. There is compensation for the believer and the disbeliever. As for fadhilah from Surah Al-Waqiah, among others, abundant sustenance, protection from harm, ease of death, and death will not fall into poverty. Second, based on interviews, the Kebon Jambu al-Islamy Islamic Boarding School students responded very well to the habit of reading Al-Mulk's letter like the dluha prayer and reading Al-Waqiah's letter like the evening prayer. As a result, the Kebon Jambu Islamic Boarding School seemed to get a blessing from reading the letter, as evidenced by the number of students and the increase in physical buildings in the pesantren environment. All of this is believed to be due to the blessing of reading Surah Al-Mulk and Surah Al-Waqiah. Finally, this study proved a correlation between reading Surah Al-Mulk and Al-Waqiah with the benefits of life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan adanya proses terjadinya evolusi sekularisme dan kecenderungannya untuk berjumpa dengan multikulturalisme. Artikel ini berargumen bahwa dalam iklim multikultural yang dipengaruhi sekularisme itu, agama menjadi pilihan subjektif-personal nyaris privat sehingga tidak dapat lagi dipaksakan oleh suatu dominasi hegemoni tertentu, baik yang bersifat religius maupun politis. Dalam ranah ini, iklim multikultural yang dipengaruhi sekularisme justru semakin mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan agama menjadi semakin dewasa, yaitu bukan sebagai suatu pemaksaan dari hegemoni tertentu, melainkan sebagai suatu pilihan personal-subjektif yang diambil secara bertanggung jawab.

Abstract

The study of interpretation in Indonesia is always experiencing developments. Various ideologies have sprung up in the study of interpretation, both classical and contemporary. In Indonesia, renewal in tafsir's study began to be crowded at the beginning of independence. When the emergence of interpretive works with various methods and styles, interpretation was very diverse, both in Arabic and Indonesian. The interpretation of thought influenced by Islamic ideology during the Reformation period was the scientific interpretation, the maudhu'i interpretation, and the hermeneutic approach. The al-Qur'an method used by the commentators varies because the study of the interpretation itself is prosperous. This research uses qualitative research. This type of research is library research, which discusses reformist Islamic ideology in interpretation. This study found that the Islamic ideology of the Reformation era liked the maudhu'i method of interpretation. Using this method, the moral messages of the Al-Qur'an, the interpreters very quickly conveyed the Al-Quran instructions to Muslims. We cannot separate the hermeneutic approach to Islamic ideology of Reformation from the hermeneutic approach in the study of interpretation. This approach is to assist the interpretation of the Qur'an which is used by the mufassir because of the complexities faced by the Indonesian Muslim community itself.

Abstract

Indonesian Islam consists of various groups and organizations, including Traditional Islam or a group that combines Islamic teachings with local customs and Islamic customs throughout the world. This study aims to identify the interpretation of traditional Islamic ideology from relevant references. It used a qualitative method, collected primary and secondary data from the literature study, and explained them through the descriptive analysis method. The results showed that some of the Traditional Islamic Groups are members of the Nahdlatul Ulama organization and others. They have unique characteristics, including exclusive and not accept others’ opinions outside the group. This group has a powerful network and spreads to remote areas through Pondok pesantren. The spread began with the entry of Islam to Indonesia in Sumatra, especially Aceh, and in Java through Wali Songo. Then, it produced great ulama  who spread  throughout the remote area and founded pesantren or Islamic boarding schools. They spread traditional Islamic teachings through oral and written in the pesantren. They published many written works in the religious field covering fiqh, Sufism, tasawuf, and tafsir. They had two learning methods, namely sorogan and bandungan. At first, in learning tafsir, they only used because as teachers and very simple pass it on. They thought that appreciating classic works is an appreciation of tradition. But after getting a lot of criticism from the reformists (modernists), they began to expand the teachings to various tafsir and wrote more about it. In writing tafsir, they often involve the traditionalist ideology based on Islam Aswaja (Ahlu Sunnah Waljamaah). They wrote about Aswaja's interests in the tafsir, especially as rebuttals to reformist groups, both in the fields of fiqh, tauhid, and tasawuf as contained in the tafsir of KH. Abstract

In general, people interpret a rope as a tool for binding. In the extensive Indonesian dictionary, rope means goods with long threads, made of various materials (coconut fiber, palm fiber, plastic, etc.) used for binding, pulling. Whereas in Arabic and the Quran, rope mean hablun, and it does not always mean rope. In the interpretation of hablun it is known as al-jama'ah, agreement, the Quran, Islam, necklaces of commands and prohibitions, neck veins. Whereas the word rope is only a tool for binding, pulling, pulling, tightening, etc. The theory used in this research is semantics. Semantics is a science that is used to explore or study a meaning in words. The semantics used is the encyclopedic model introduced by Dadang Darmawan and Irma Riyani in their journal article, which refutes the Izutsu semantic model with several shortcomings. The word hablun has a primary meaning in the form of a long tool used to bind. In contrast, in relational meaning, it means abstract in jahiliyah poetry and mass media, while in interpretation, it means concrete in Makkiyah letters and abstract meaning in madaniyah surahs. The concept of the word hablun is fundamental to learn because it is a rope and has important lessons for the safety of the world and the hereafter. Among them is that the concept of hablun commands to hold on to the Prophet Muhammad's two inheritances, avoid division, and understand and practice the concept of Islamic sociology.

Abstract

This article discusses the understanding of the hadith on the prohibition of receiving wages in teaching the Al-Quran. The form of appreciation given to teachers from students, both in the form of gifts and rewards in teaching Al-Qur'an, has become a dispute of opinion among the scholars. This study is very important to discuss to find out the similarities and differences in opinion of the scholars of fiqh schools regarding the hadith of the prohibition. The writing of this article uses a literature-based comparative study methodology equipped with hadiths that serve as a reference as a basis for opinion among scholars of fiqh schools. This article concludes that classical scholars from the Hanafi school and scholars from the Hambali school forbid accepting wages for teaching the Koran, while scholars from the Maliki school of thought, scholars from the Shafi'i school of thought, and contemporary scholars from the Hanafi and Madzhab schools Hambali allows receiving rewards for teaching the Qur'an according to certain circumstances.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang berbagai jenis tafsir Maudu'i, berbagai macam dan bentuk tafsir yang berkembang di masyarakat, sedangkan salah satu tafsir yang berkembang adalah tafsir Maudu'i. Tafsiran tematik dalam rujukan bahasa Arab ini disebut tafsir maudhû'i. Tafsir tematik dalam bahasa Arab disebut tafsir maudhû'i. Tafsir maudhû'i terdiri dari dua kata, yaitu kata tafsir dan kata maudhi. Kata tafsir termasuk dalam bentuk masdar yang berarti penjelasan, uraian, uraian. Kata maudhû'i berasal dari kata maudhû', isim maf'ûl dari fi'il madhi wadha'a yang memiliki berbagai arti, yaitu yang ditempatkan, disampaikan, ditempatkan, atau dibuat-buat, yang menjadi topik pembicaraan. Makna yang terakhir adalah tema atau topik yang relevan dengan konteks pembahasan disini. Secara harfiah tafsir maudhû'i dapat diterjemahkan dengan tafsir tematik, yaitu tafsir berdasarkan tema atau topik tertentu.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the interpretation of the reformist era, in terms of ideology, influence, commentators who existed at that time, and criticisms of their commentators on traditional Islam. This study uses qualitative methods with descriptive analysis sourced from literature studies. This paper concludes that reformists took place in the 20th century due to European expansion. The presence of this ideology also affects science, especially in the field of interpretation. Tafsir in this century was heavily influenced by the thoughts of Egyptian reformers such as Muhammad Abduh and others. Its development has progressed rapidly, such as various new styles and methods coming afterward. The commentators are Oemar Bakri, Buya Hamka, KH. Bisri Musthofa, Mahmud Yunus, and Quraish Shihab, the reformists, also criticized the traditionalists who were considered too blind to taqlid towards the ulama. Also, their thoughts which are still shackled by customs, have become sharp criticisms of the reformists against traditionalists. This reformist or renewal is considered a breath of fresh air for Muslims to be more modernist, technological, and not lagging behind western progress.
