Abstract

This study explores the transformation of Islamic education management in the digital era, focusing on the strategies implemented and the challenges faced by Islamic educational institutions. The digital era brings significant changes in education management, where information and communication technology becomes the main pillar in supporting the teaching and learning process and education administration. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method in several Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia that have adopted digital technology in their management. The results of the study show that the transformation of Islamic education management in the digital era involves various innovative strategies, such as the implementation of an online learning management system (e-learning), curriculum digitalization, and the development of digital competencies for educators. However, the challenges faced are no less significant, including limited technological infrastructure, lack of digital literacy among educators and students, and resistance to change from some education stakeholders. This study concludes that the success of the transformation of Islamic education management in the digital era is highly dependent on the willingness of institutions to adapt and innovate, as well as adequate support from the government and society in overcoming the various challenges that arise. The implications of this study provide insight for Islamic education policy makers in formulating more effective strategies to face the dynamics of change in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of Islamic education in addressing the challenges of modern life through the modern Qur’anic interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab. The study aims to explore Shihab’s understanding of education and identify its relevance to the moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social challenges faced by contemporary society. This study employs a qualitative library research approach by examining Quraish Shihab’s works, particularly Tafsir Al-Mishbah, together with relevant literature on Islamic education and Qur’anic interpretation. The analysis focuses on educational principles, objectives, methods, and their relevance to contemporary educational needs. The findings indicate that Shihab views Islamic education as a comprehensive process grounded in the Qur’an and directed toward the development of the whole human being, encompassing physical, spiritual, and intellectual dimensions. Education is not limited to the transfer of knowledge but also involves purification of the soul, moral formation, and the development of human responsibility as a servant and vicegerent of Allah. Several educational approaches, including exemplary conduct, dialogue, and mujahadah, are relevant to contemporary education. Shihab’s interpretation of Q.S. Al-‘Alaq 1–5 further emphasizes reading, learning, intellectual responsibility, and the transmission of knowledge. The study concludes that Quraish Shihab’s modern interpretive approach provides a contextual and holistic foundation for Islamic education to respond to modern challenges while maintaining Qur’anic values and strengthening faith, knowledge, and noble character.

Abstract

The transformation of 21st-century education demands a shift in assessment paradigms—from merely measuring memorization to evaluating higher-order thinking skills. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), assessments that focus solely on memorizing texts and religious references are no longer sufficient to address contemporary challenges. This study aims to explore strategies for developing knowledge assessment instruments in PAI based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Using a qualitative approach through library research, the author examines various theoretical sources and educational policies. The findings indicate that the application of the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy serves as a primary foundation in developing HOTS-based questions. Ideally, HOTS assessments in PAI should include indicators of analysis, evaluation, and creation, connected to real-life situations and spiritual values. This study recommends that PAI teachers design assessments that encourage students to think reflectively, contextually, and critically about Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The Russia–Ukraine armed conflict has disrupted global food supply chains by blocking Black Sea export routes, forcing Ukraine to redirect its agricultural exports through neighboring countries, particularly Poland. The resulting oversupply of Ukrainian agricultural products in the Polish domestic market triggered a unilateral import ban in April 2023, which subsequently gave rise to WTO dispute WT/DS619. Previous studies have predominantly examined this issue from economic and geopolitical perspectives, while limited attention has been devoted to assessing the compatibility of Poland’s import restrictions with the legal framework of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994, the Agreement on Agriculture, and the Dispute Settlement Understanding (DSU). This study aims to analyze the legality of Poland’s import ban and evaluate the WTO dispute settlement mechanism applicable to the dispute. Using a normative legal research method with statutory and case approaches, this study examines WTO legal instruments, official dispute documents, and relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that although Poland justified the import ban as a temporary measure to protect its domestic agricultural market, the measure potentially constitutes a quantitative restriction prohibited under Article XI:1 GATT 1994, restricts the freedom of transit under Article V:2, raises concerns regarding transparency under Article X:1 GATT 1994, and is potentially inconsistent with Articles 4.2 and 5 of the Agreement on Agriculture, as it imposes non-tariff restrictions outside the WTO safeguard framework. Furthermore, the study finds that Ukraine’s decision to remain at the consultation stage under the DSU reflects not only procedural considerations but also broader geopolitical and diplomatic interests, particularly amid the ongoing dysfunction of the WTO Appellate Body. The novelty of this study lies in integrating substantive WTO legal analysis with institutional and geopolitical considerations in assessing the legality of unilateral trade measures adopted during armed conflict. These findings contribute to the development of international trade law by clarifying the legal limits of emergency trade restrictions and highlighting the challenges faced by the WTO dispute settlement system in responding to contemporary geopolitical crises

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology and e-commerce transformation in Indonesia has significantly shifted consumer purchasing behavior, including within the fragrance industry. HMNS Parfume is a prominent Indonesian local fragrance brand that has successfully dominated the digital market despite the inherent challenge of selling products without direct sensory experiences (blind buy). This study aims to analyze the digital marketing strategies employed by HMNS Parfume across social media and e-commerce platforms, particularly TikTok Shop and Shopee, and their impact on consumer purchase decisions. A qualitative descriptive methodology was adopted, utilizing a literature review approach and content analysis. The findings reveal that HMNS's market success is driven by the integration of emotional branding strategies (spanning four key pillars: relationship, sensorial experience, imagination, and vision) alongside compelling narrative storytelling. The primary barrier of blind buying is effectively mitigated through detailed product descriptions, availability of sample discovery sets, interactive live-streaming features, and leveraging social proof via online customer reviews and User-Generated Content (UGC). Based on the SWOT analysis, HMNS holds a strong position due to research-backed product formulation and distinct brand storytelling, allowing the brand to capitalize on the surge of "local pride" trends and social commerce growth. To sustain long-term growth, the study recommends that HMNS strengthen its omnichannel presence through offline physical touchpoints to provide direct sensory experiences prior to online repurchases

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a key factor in creating a safe and productive work environment, particularly in healthcare sectors such as Community Health Centers (Puskesmas). Therefore, adequate OHS knowledge is crucial for establishing a safe workplace, preventing occupational accidents, and enhancing the overall quality of healthcare services. This study aims to determine and analyze the relationship between nurses' levels of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) knowledge and their compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Puskesmas Wirang. A cross-sectional study design was employed. The study was conducted at Puskesmas Wirang with a sample of 15 nurses selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The results indicate that the majority of respondents were aged 36–45 years (66.7%), female (66.7%), had worked for more than 5 years (73.3%), and held a Diploma III (D3) degree in Nursing (60%). The majority demonstrated good OHS knowledge (93.3%) and compliance with PPE usage (86.7%). The study concludes that the majority of nurses at Puskesmas Wirang possess good OHS knowledge and comply with PPE usage protocols.
