Jurnal Gesture Seni Tari ini memuat tentang penulisan ilmiah dan penelitian seni tari tradisi dan tari non tradisi di Nusantara, hingga menyinggung persoalan-persoalan yang terkait dengan perkembangan pendidikan seni tari pada abad ini. Sebagai Jurnal Seni yang hadir ditengah-tengah lembaga Prodi Pendidikan Seni Tari; dalam hal ini jurnal gesture akan selalu konsisten untuk berupaya menampung segala bentuk karya tulis ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan bidang (Pengajaran, Pengkajian, Penyajian, Penciptaan, dan Pengelolaan) di Pendidikan Tari FBS Unimed.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the shape and meaning of symbols Dance Tembut-Tembut in Wari Udan Ndilo Ceremony At The Village People Seberaya Karo Karo District of Tigapanah main focus of this study is to describe the meaning of Form and Meaning of symbols contained in the dance tembut - tembut on Karo society.This study is a description is to collect data and qualitative information, to explain in detail the meaning of Form and Meaning of the symbols of dance Tembut-Tembut, to collect field data methods, interviews, and field observations. The data obtained in the analysis of qualitative tersebutakan. The process of data analysis in this study began with all the data that was obtained from observations and interviews. This study uses the theory of Function, Form and Meaning of symbols, Tembut-tembut dance in ceremonies held at the village uda ndilo wari Seberaya kecanatan Tigapanah, caused by drought which resulted in plants Karo people become corrupted. Dance tembut - tembut also has a function as a means of entertainment. Dance tembut - tembut been more dominant as a means of entertainment fun.In custom event ndilo wari this udan music acts include the like, Drum Five Sendalanen is comprised of: Sarune (fife, as carriers melody), drum Singindungi, (drum mother, as the carrier rhythmic variation), Singanai Drum (Drum children , as a carrier fixed rhythmic), Gung (Gong, as a determinant of the largest cycle, Penganak (Small Gong, as the smallest cycle carrier). Abstract

ABSTRAK - Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji “t” menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan yang diperoleh dari hasil uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan pengujuan hipotesis, setelah to diketahui, selanjutnya dikonsultasikan dengan ttabel  pada taraf 5% dengan dk = (N1 + N2) – 2 = 62, maka diperoleh ttabel 1,66. Setelah dikonsultasikan, ternyata to yang diperoleh lebih besar dari ttabel yaitu  4,05 > 1,66. Karena to yang diperoleh lebih besar dari ttabel, maka dapat dinyatakan Ha diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran kreativitas tari kreasi Gayo sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran tekstual dan kontekstual lebih efektif dibandingan pembelajaran kreativitas tari kreasi Gayo sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran tekstual dan kontekstual.Kata kunci: Kreativitas, Tari kreasi Gayo, Tekstual dan kontekstual.ABSTRACT - The results of the study using the "t" test showed that there was a significant influence obtained from the results of the normality test, homogeneity test and the purpose of the hypothesis, after being known, then consulted with the table at the level of 5% with dk = (N1 + N2) - 2 = 62, then obtained t table 1.66. After being consulted, it turns out that the one obtained is greater than t table, that is 4.05> 1.66. Because to be obtained is greater than t table, it can be stated Ha is accepted. This proves that learning creativity of Gayo creation dance after using textual and contextual learning models is more effective compared to learning creativity of Gayo dance before using textual and contextual learning models.                                                                                    Keywords: Creativity, Gayo’s dance,Textual and contextual.

Abstract

Dampeng dance is a dance that tumbuhdanberkembang in Aceh Singkil. Dampengcustomary sudahpadatahun inimerupakantarian 1986. The purpose of this study isto discuss the dampeng dance from the perspective of aesthetic value.The theory used in this research is the aesthetic theory of Dhrasono whichcontains about: motion, fashion poetry and music. This theory is a reference tostrip existing problems in Dampeng dance.When the study to discuss Dampeng dance performed during the three months,from mid-December 2015 to February 2016. The research in the village of BukitHarapan. Subdistrict Gunung Meriah. The population is two persons namelyspeakers and artists, who know about the culture Singkil. Samples are numberedtwo people are a resource and artists in the district of Aceh Singkil.Teknik datacollection include observation, interviews, literature study and documentation.Dampeng aesthetics of the dance are the motions of martial that have governancerules, the satisfaction score and the value of togetherness for the people of AcehSingkil. Having yangtinggi excellent value for people who feel that the danceSingkil Dampeng is partly art and cultural preservation is still there and is stillknown to the public sampek Aceh Singkil. Dance dampeng also has aesthetic infashion is clothing with the colors of firm and soft, the color of clothing also hascharacter. It's all evidence of their love of their culture. Of these colors Singkilcommunity admire and maintain Dampeng dance clothing for use by generationsto always be worn when dancing.

Abstract

Abstract -This study discusses about the learning model of Coorperative Learning Jigsaw activities extracurricular art of dance. The location of this research was conducted at SMA Perguruan Sultan Agung Foundation Surabaya. 19 Pematangsintar, North Sumatra. The theory used in this research is the learning model of Coorperative Learning Jigsaw (Amri and Ahmadi) and Capability Of Learning (Nurwani). The result of the research based on the collected data, it can be seen that the extracurricular activity of dance art is very influential on the learning model of Coorperative Learning Jigsaw to the students' dancing ability. From the results of questionnaire (questionnaire) showed that 91.95% of students liked the learning model Coorperative Learning Jigsaw given by the teacher. The result of student's dancing ability is 78,59%. Thus it can be concluded that the learning model Coorperative Learning Jigsaw very influential on the ability to dance students who have done well with effective and efficient time for four weeks. This means that this activity is very positive effect on the ability to dance with the learning model given by the teacher. Keywords: Cooperative Learning Jigsaw, Extracurricular Art of Dance his study.

Abstract

Tari Menguyak Pucuk diciptakan oleh   Bapak Fauzi seorang seniman Melayu yang dimiliki masyarakat kota Tanjung Balai. Tari ini bersumber dari aktifitas para buruh dalam  mengolah daun nipah yang dijadikan rokok daun, yang kebanyakan dilakukan oleh buruh wanita Ada 6 gerak pekerjaan yang dimulai dari mengimas, menebang, menotak, menguyak, menjemur, dan menggundal, yang kemudian dijadikan motif dasar tari yang dikembangkan menjadi karya Tari Menguyak Pucuk. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of dance art learning in planting character values in class XI MAN Range of Academic Year 2018/2019. The theory used as a reference in this study uses theories relating to character education that focus on character education in the study of theory and practice in schools by Dharma (2013: 11). The method of this study uses survey methods with the research population of the XI Man Kisaran class. The research sample consisted of 68 students, consisting of class XI IPS1 and IPA1. Data collection techniques by observation, questionnaires, and literature studies. Tests of validity were carried out using correlation analysis of Product Moment formula from Pearson with 30 items of valid instruments. Data reliability was analyzed using Kudder-Richardson 20 formula (K-R 20), Correlation test using the Product Moment formula. The results of the study through the product correlation test Momentdi can be 0.67 and α = 0.05 and rtable = 0.33 with a high correlation category. It shows that the learning of Dance has a fairly high influence in helping to cultivate discipline, communicative, responsible, hard working, collaborative and confident character values for students and will be more optimal when accompanied by appropriate learning methods and models. This is in accordance with the alternative hypothesis which states the influence of the implementation of dance learning in the planting of character values. Keywords: Character Education, Dance Learning, MAN KisaranABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran seni tari dalam penanaman nilai-nilai karakter pada siswa kelas XI MAN Kisaran Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Teori yang dijadikan acuan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori yang berkenaan dengan pendidikan karakter yang terfokus pada pendidikan karakter  dalam kajian teori dan prakter di sekolah oleh Dharma (2013: 11). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metodesurveydengan populasi penelitian siswa kelas XI Man Kisaran. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 68 siswa, terdiri dari kelas XI IPS1 dan IPA1. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, angket, dan studi kepustakaan.Uji validitas dilakukan menggunakan analisis korelasi rumus Product Moment dari Pearson dengan hasil 30 butir instrumen yang valid. Reliabilitas data dianalisis menggunakan rumus Kudder-Richardson 20 (K-R 20), Uji korelasi menggunakan rumus Product Moment. Hasil penelitian melalui uji korelasi Produkct Momentdi dapat hasil 0,67 dan α = 0,05 dan rtabel = 0,33 dengan kategori korelasi tinggi. Hal menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Seni Tari memiliki pengaruh yang cukup tinggi dalam membantu penanaman nilai-nilai karakter disiplin, komunikatif, bertanggung jawab, bekerja keras, bekerja sama dan percaya diri pada siswa dan akan semakin optimal apabila didampingi dengan metode dan model pembelajaran yang tepat. Hal ini sesuai dengan hipotesis alternatif yang menyatakan adanya pengaruh pelaksanaan pembelajaran tari dalam penanaman nilai-nilai karakter pada siswa. Kata kunci : Pendidikan Karakter, Pembelajaran Seni Tari, MAN Kisaran

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik tari Melayu di Kota Medan dengan melihat gerak, busana, musik serta nilai etika dan estetikanya. Teori-teori yang digunakan sesuai topik penelitian seperti, teori karakteristik, teori bentuk, teori gerak, teori etika dan estetika. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dan analilis deskriptif, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, studi pustaka, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Lokasi penelitian adalah sanggar tari Sri Indera Ratu, Medan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, karakteristik tari Melayu yang ada di Istana atau Kota Medan gerakan lebih halus dan tertutup, kemudian ketika menari torso badan tegak, tekukan kaki yang lebih sedikit, dan ketika melenggang dalam tari 9 rangkaian ciptaan almarhum Sauti dilakukan lenggang dengan satu tangan. Secara umum busana yang digunakan selalu jenis baju kurung, kain utuh (tidak kain kebaya), rias pada rambut selalu disasak tinggi kebelakang, dan menggunakan aksesoris dikepala. Musik dalam tari Melayu di Istana tidak memiliki ciri yang berbeda dengan musik Melayu yang ada dikalangan rakyat, begitu juga dengan alat musik yang digunakan, tidak ada yang berbeda dari alat musik Melayu yang digunakan pada umumnya. Etika dalam tari Melayu yang mengikat berdasarkan agama Islam, menjadikan nilai estetika tari itu menjadi lebih indah. .Kata Kunci: Karakteristik Tari Melayu di Kota Medan

Abstract

ABSTRACT, This study aims to describe the application of the Course Review Horay learning model in the dance appreciation learning no tatema mbola through postcard media to the effectiveness of student learning in Medan Darussalam Middle School. The theory used in this research is the theory of Course Review Horay models from Imas Kurniasih and Berlin Sani 2016, and the theory of postcard learning media Rudi Susilana and Cepi Riyana 2017. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study was class VII students, amounting to 139 students and the sample in this study was class VII-2, amounting to 30 students. The results showed that the application of the Course Review Horay learning model was very effective because students became more active, enthusiastic and could increase effectiveness in the learning process. Increasing the effectiveness of student learning becomes more effective with the Course Review Horay learning model through postcard media that contains the no tatema mbola dance material. In the postcard there is an explanation of dance movements based on elements of space, time, and energy coupled with pictures of dancers. The application of the Course Review Horay learning model through the postcard media of each group is guided to compete faster in answering questions given by the teacher. The group that succeeds in answering correctly, then the group sings "horay" and gets a score. The results of the average value on the pretest are 38.83 and 90 posttest. From the list of distribution of t for α = 0.05 tcount> t table (1.723> 1.699). Then it can be concluded that Ha is accepted to be an increase in the effectiveness of learning in dance material no tatema mbola through the Course Review Horay model through postcard media. Keywords: Implementation, Model Course Review Horay, Postcard media,Effectiveness of Learning  ABSTRAK, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran Course Review Horay pada pembelajaran apresiasi tari no tatema mbola melalui media kartu pos terhadap efektivitas belajar siswa di SMP Darussalam Medan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori model Course Review Horay dari Imas Kurniasih dan Berlin Sani 2016, dan teori media pembelajaran kartu pos Rudi Susilana dan Cepi Riyana 2017. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII yang berjumlah 139 siswa dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas VII-2 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Course Review Horay sangat efektif karena siswa menjadi lebih aktif, semangat serta dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dalam proses pembelajaran. Peningkatan efektivitas pembelajaran siswa menjadi lebih efektif dengan adanya model pembelajaran Course Review Horay melalui media kartu pos yang berisikan tentang materi tari no tatema mbola. Di dalam kartu pos tersebut terdapat penjelasan gerak tari berdasarkan elemen ruang, waktu, dan tenaga ditambah dengan gambar penari. Penerapan model pembelajaran Course Review Horay melalui media kartu pos masing-masing kelompok dituntun untuk berlomba lebih cepat dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang di berikan guru. Kelompok yang berhasil menjawab benar, maka kelompok tersebut menyanyikan yel-yel “horay” dan mendapatkan skor nilai. Hasil nilai rata-rata pada pretest yaitu 38,83 dan postest 90. Dari daftar distribusi t untuk α = 0,05 harga thitung > ttabel (1,723 > 1,699). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima adanya peningkatan efektivitas pembelajaran dalam materi tari no tatema mbola melalui model Course Review Horay melalui media kartu pos.Kata Kunci: Penerapan, Model Course Review Horay, Media kartu pos,     Efektivitas Pembelajaran

Abstract

Based on the enthusiasm of received the profit as much as possible causeda symptom of commodification appear in every sector of life. Included arts sector,in this case was more spesification in dance arts. Theory that used in this researchwas the theory of commodification that incuded production, distribution, andconsument. Composing theory based on the exploration, improvisation, formation,and development theory in this case was seen based on qualitative andquantitative. The time when the research conducted was in october until november2015. The place of the research conducted was on Sanggar Ai-ai Dancer atkecamatan Medan Denai and SanggarNusindo at Kecamatan Medan timur.Commodification affect the quality and quantity of dance movement andalso dance performance from Sanggar Ai-ai Dancer and Nusindo. That’s allbecause of the market demands were influenced in the process of dancecomposing, In result they gave priority to the commercial demands. Then tochange the merits became the material, occured the process of production,distribution, and consument to both of the Sanggar.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe how the Textual Study of Dampeng Ayohok Dance in Kilangan Village, Singkil District, Aceh Singkil District. The theoretical foundation in this paper is used as a guideline in data collection consisting of textual studies and Dampeng dance which are used as references in conducting this research. The theory used to discuss this research is the theory of textual study by Y. Sumandiyo Hadi. Textual studies see Dampeng dance from the choreographic analysis side of choreographic analysis consisting of unity, repetition or repetition, transition or displacement and sequence. Structural analysis consisting of patterns and various motions. Symbolic analysis (tagging system).The method used by the author in collecting data is by observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation. Observations carried out such as the form of Dampeng dance, recording the results of interviews and carrying out video and photo documentation. Continued to review each Textual consisting of motion form analysis, Structural Analysis and Symbolic Analysis on Dampeng dance in accordance with the theory used. These data are then analyzed by Qualitative Descriptive Methods. The results of this study in terms of choreographical analysis on Dampeng Ayohok dance are analyzed from the form of motion where Dampeng dance consists of eight forms of opening greetings, clapping, mekhe salam, kisar (rotating), standby, holding dakhilebe (parrying from the front), installing steps and rubbing (closing). Structural analysis consists of patterns of motion and range of motion. The pattern of motion in dance is accompanied by a circle pattern and consists of four different forms of motion. Symbolic analysis consists of marking on motion, setting, floor pattern, and poetry. Keywords: Dampeng, Tekstual dance, Aceh Singkil  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana Kajian Tekstual tari dampeng ayohok Di Desa Kilangan Kecamatan Singkil Kabupaten Aceh Singkil. Landasan teoritis dalam skripsi ini dijadikan pedoman dalam pengumpulan data terdiri dari kajian tekstual dan tari dampeng ayohok yang dijadikan acuan dalam melakukan penelelitian ini. Teori yang digunakan untuk membahas penelitian ini yaitu teori tentang kajian tekstual oleh Y. Sumandiyo Hadi. Kajian tekstual melihat tari Dampeng dari sisi analisis koreografis analisis koreografi yang terdiri atas kesatuan atau unity, repetisi atau pengulangan, transisi atau perpindahan dan rangkaian. Analisis struktur yang terdiri dari pola-pola dan ragam gerak. Analisis simbolik (sistem penandaan). Metode yang digunakan penulis dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu dengan cara observasi, wawancara, studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Observasi yang dilakukan seperti bentuk tari dampeng, merekam hasil wawancara dan melakukan dokumentasi video dan foto. Dilanjutkan mengkaji setiap Tekstual yang terdiri atas analisis bentuk gerak, Analisis struktural dan analisis simbolik pada tari dampeng sesuai dengan teori yang digunakan. Data-data ini kemudian dianalisis dengan Metode Deskriptif Kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini dari sisi analisis koreografis pada tari dampeng ayohok dianalisis dari bentuk gerak dimana tari dampeng ayohok terdiri atas delapan bentuk gerak salam pembuka, bertepuk, mekhe salam, kisar (memutar), siaga, menahan dakhilebe (menangkis dari depan), memasang langkah dan membekhesalam (salam penutup). Analisis struktural terdiri atas pola-pola gerak dan ragam gerak. Pola gerak dalam tari dampeng yaitu pola lingkaran dan terdiri atas empat bentuk ragam gerak.
