Abstract

Abstract

This study critically evaluates the Catalyser Leadership Development Program implemented by PT.Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned energy giant, against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transitions and organizational restructuring. Through in-depth interviews with 3 key stakeholders (program alumni, non alumni, and HR Designer), the research reveals a paradox: while the program successfully employs blended learning methodologies aligned with 70:20:10 principles (Lombardo & Eichinger, 1996), critical disconnects emerge in sustaining leadership capabilities post-program. The study makes a significant contribution by proposing an enhanced "Catalyser 2.0" framework, updated based on stakeholder feedback and grounded in adaptive leadership principles. The study also offers policy recommendations that emphasize urgency of formulating a comprehensive and sustainable talent management strategy.

Abstract

Product liability refers to the civil liability of business actors for losses experienced by consumers when using the products they provide, a concept known as product liability. Within the context of customer service management, the principle of responsibility outlined in the Consumer Protection Law is based on a presumptive principle, meaning that business actors are always presumed to be responsible. According to the principle of absolute responsibility, consumers are not required to prove the fault of business actors. Instead, consumers must demonstrate the existence of a product defect and establish the causal relationship between the defect and the injury or loss they have suffered. Under this principle, consumers still bear the burden of proving that the losses incurred are directly caused by defective products. This research employs a qualitative method using an empirical juridical approach. The primary data source is the sale and purchase agreement and the documented responsibilities of the business actor, while secondary data is drawn from books, journals, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and virtual sources. Data management techniques include interviews, direct observation, surveys, and the distribution of questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the responsibility of the Sae motor showroom to consumers, in the context of customer service management, is evident when addressing product defects in the sales agreement for purchasing a used motorcycle.

Abstract

Abstract

The demands of workload combined with an unhealthy lifestyle, without being balanced by regular exercise, can lead to diabetes mellitus (diabetes), a disease caused by problems with the pancreas and insulin. Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death worldwide, while in Indonesia, it ranks as the third-highest cause of death. The objective of this study is to determine the best model to be used for diabetes prediction. Diabetes prediction will be conducted using machine learning with ensemble methods and deep learning. The data is collected from patients at Dr. Kariadi Central General Hospital, where there is an imbalance between positive and negative diabetes cases. The dataset is processed using SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique), and the models are configured and optimized using hyperparameter tuning to achieve the best accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The percentage of patients classified as non-diabetic is 91.49%, and this value is used as the baseline for developing the detection system. When building the best model, accuracy alone is not sufficient; instead, precision and recall are more critical for diabetes prediction. Low recall indicates that many diabetic patients go undetected (high False Negative rate), which is dangerous as they do not receive early treatment. Low precision means many healthy individuals are misdiagnosed as diabetic (high False Positive rate), leading to unnecessary anxiety and treatment. The Decision Tree with Ensemble Extra Trees model achieves the highest recall at 99.65%. The Deep Neural Network model produces the highest precision at 99.15%. The best F1-score balance is achieved by the Decision Tree with Ensemble Extra Trees model, with a score of 99.39%.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the types of human rights violations that have occurred in the Papua region and to analyze the government’s strategies for addressing each violation. The increase in conflicts related to human rights violations in Papua, particularly by separatist groups, has been marked by acts of discrimination against human rights activists and security task forces. These dynamics have further impeded national economic growth and infrastructure development. The purpose of this research is to understand the nature of human rights violations in the Papua region and to examine the government’s response to these violations amid evolving political developments in Papua. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing 24 previous scientific articles published in reputable national and international journals from 2018 to 2025. Data were collected through searches on Google Scholar using the keyword Human Rights. The research concludes that addressing human rights issues in Papua requires deliberative dialogue conducted by the central government with all parties involved in the conflict, like the approach taken by the Indonesian government in resolving the GAM conflict.

Abstract

The research examines the perceived and real engagement of Gen Z lawyers at a small boutique law firm in Jakarta. To assess both perceived and real engagement of the Gen Z lawyers at a small boutique law firm in Jakarta, the writer is conducting a research by using a mixed-methods approach of structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews to measure the seven dimensions of engagement framework – Pride to the Company, Positive Criticism, Proactive Attitude, Energy, Resilience, Action to Promote the Company, and Intention to Stay. The research exposed that although the questionnaire shows a moderate to high level engagement, the interview presents facts that are indicating lower behavioral engagement in most key indicators. The discrepancies (as measured through the gap score) suggest that the Gen Z lawyers may in theory express their engagement but still facing a real challenge in practicing the same, as may be triggered by lack of psychological safety, superficial emotional connection, low initiative taking behavior, and fatigue. However, the research also uncovers positive facts of hidden strength in both resilience and intention to stay, which suggest the Gen Z lawyers potential for long-term commitment to the firm, if it is nurtured correctly. To enhance the retention, law firm must bridge the engagement gaps and accommodate Gen Z generational needs of psychological safety, purposeful work, empowerment, career development, wellbeing, and social connections.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the risks associated with the operation and maintenance activities of the Semantok Dam Management Unit (Unit Pengelola Bendungan, UPB) to support sustainable management. The method employed is a qualitative case study approach using Risk Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (RFMEA), which prioritizes risks based on Risk Score and Risk Priority Number (RPN). The results identified five main risks: (1) suboptimal irrigation services due to limitations in the water distribution network; (2) a mismatch between AKNOP values and actual needs and budget; (3) illegal structures along the dam embankment that interfere with monitoring functions; (4) inaccuracies in monitoring analysis due to insufficient human resource competence; and (5) the presence of wild plants that can interfere with visual inspections and potentially damage the dam structure, exacerbated by insufficient maintenance personnel. This study addresses a gap in the literature, which has primarily focused on technical risks or risks during the construction phase. The application of RFMEA in the context of dam management expands the scope of this method, which has been widely used in the industrial sector and project management. The findings provide important considerations for risk-informed budget planning, particularly in the formulation of the Operational and Maintenance Actual Need Value (AKNOP), ensuring that allocations reflect real-world, on-site requirements. Furthermore, policies are needed to strengthen the capacity of dam management units through targeted training, certification, increased personnel, and improved analysis of monitoring data. Lastly, policies to protect reservoir buffer zones should be reinforced, both through enhanced physical surveillance and legal approaches, to prevent illegal occupation and associated risks.
