Abstract

Abstract

In operations and production management, material yield is one of the key indicators of process efficiency and cost effectiveness. This study aims to identify the root causes of low carton packaging yield, formulate improvement strategies based on the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) cycle integrated with 16 structured quality management tools, and evaluate the effectiveness of this approach in addressing inefficiencies in carton packaging. To achieve this, root causes were identified using a Fishbone Diagram (4M1E), further analyzed with the 5 Whys method, and validated through the 3G approach (Genba, Genbutsu, Genjitsu). Key issues were prioritized using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Improvement ideas were then generated using the SCAMPER technique and selected using a PICK Chart. The selected solutions were implemented using the 5W2H framework and scheduled with a Gantt Chart. To ensure sustainability, poka-yoke mechanisms and process standardization were applied. The implementation of targeted improvement strategies at one of Indonesia’s leading beverage companies led to a notable increase in carton packaging yield—from 99.44% to 99.75%—effectively closing the performance gap. This improvement was accompanied by a reduction of over 50% in measurable negative impacts across all PQCDSME dimensions (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale, and Environment), reflecting enhanced process stability, operational efficiency, and cross-functional performance. This study demonstrates that integrating structured, data-driven problem-solving tools with the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) cycle can significantly improve manufacturing performance. The approach proved effective in reducing waste, increasing yield, and supporting continuous improvement within a production environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse how the dynamic managerial capacity and organizational readiness of the Jambi City government affect organizational performance in the digitalization transformation of this city towards smart governance. Local governments do many things to achieve the demands of regional autonomy, regional development, especially with the use of information technology, ultimately leads to the concept of smart city with one of the indicators that becomes the main intersection is smart governance This research is a descriptive-associative quantitative study that aims to describe each variable in the model, as well as find out the relationship between several variables studied, The population in this study were all Local Government Organizations (OPD) in Jambi City as many as 30 OPDs with a sample of five OPDs which are direct implementers of the Smart Governance agenda. The results showed the achievement of smart governance in three aspects, namely excellent service, bureaucratic management and decision making. All three are supported directly or partially by the dynamic managerial abilities of the head of the office and the head of the section or unit in the OPD. However, the organizational readiness of the OPD contributes negatively, meaning that all organizational components are not ready to support the transformation of smart governance and only from key managers. This study also found that another factor that is fundamental to the implementation of smart governance is the political will of the Jambi City Regional Head. Therefore, the author recommends the Jambi city government to increase the capacity of managers within the Jambi City government more comprehensively in order to regenerate and develop prepare a master plan to target organizational capacity building in terms of infrastructure, human resources, finance, mindset and cooperation owned by the Jambi City Government.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of land cover changes in North Musi Rawas Regency in the period 2017–2023 and triggers for flood risk using remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) approaches. The research methods include Sentinel-2 satellite imagery classification using supervised classification techniques, accuracy validation, and spatial-temporal analysis to identify land conversion patterns and their relationship to hydrological dynamics. The results of the analysis show significant conversion of agricultural land vegetation (9,769 ha), built-up land (194 ha), shrubs (15,011 ha), and swamps (514.17 ha), which are driven by urbanization factors, expansion of the agricultural sector, and environmental degradation. These changes contribute to increased flood risk, with the area affected by the medium risk category reaching 133,586 ha, especially in Karang Dapo, Rupit, and Rawas Ilir Districts, while the low-risk area covers 31,397 ha. Meanwhile, areas with better vegetation cover show higher flood mitigation capacity. This study confirms that changes in land cover have a close correlation with increased flood risk, so that land management policies based on spatial data and the use of remote sensing technology are needed to support disaster mitigation and adaptation strategies more effectively

Abstract

Pediculosis capitis is a common scalp infection, especially among school-aged children. It is caused by an infestation of Pediculus humanus var. capitis, a parasite from the Pediculidae family. This case study aims to describe the management of pediculosis capitis using oral Ivermectin. A case study was conducted on a 12-year-old girl with pediculosis capitis, presenting with itching, pain, and burning sensation on the scalp. Dermatological examination revealed the presence of eggs and adult lice. The patient was treated with oral Ivermectin for one week, and evaluation was done using the Scale and SALT Score. After one week of treatment with oral Ivermectin, the patient showed significant improvement. Symptoms of itching decreased, and no live lice were found during follow-up examination. Oral Ivermectin is effective in treating pediculosis capitis with good tolerance. This case study highlights the importance of accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment in managing pediculosis capitis.

Abstract

Through the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) 2021–2023, PT PLN (Persero) outlined plans for the development of transmission systems across Indonesia, projecting an expansion of 76,662 MVA in substation capacity and 47,723 kilometres of transmission lines by 2030. Transmission infrastructure development is further detailed for each major island system in the country. In particular, the transmission network in Sulawesi remains divided into two systems: Southern Sulawesi (SULBAGSEL) and Northern Sulawesi (SULBAGUT). The RUPTL document also highlights several strategic projects in the Sulawesi transmission system, including the 150 kV Tambu–Bangkir Transmission Line. Following an instruction from the Directorate General of Electricity to accelerate the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the Tambu–Bangkir segment to 2024, the project timeline has been adjusted accordingly and designated as a priority assignment. Current transmission line construction planning still relies on manual methods, which have several weaknesses, including route inefficiency, potential cost overruns, challenges in accessing planning locations, and low planning accuracy that often does not reflect actual field conditions. This approach also inadequately considers disaster factors and the aspects of environmental, social, and corporate governance. This research aims to develop a more effective and efficient method for transmission line planning that reduces cost overruns while improving accessibility and planning accuracy. Additionally, this study will explore ways to incorporate land use, road access, disaster factors, and environmental, social, and corporate governance considerations. Spatial modeling using the Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) method can offer a more comprehensive approach, making transmission line planning more optimal and sustainable.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the governance implementation of the MHPP Bintang Bano Project from the perspective of the involved stakeholders. This research uses a qualitative case study approach and stakeholder theory as an analytical framework. Data collection was carried out through interviews with eight informants and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Interactive Model. The evaluation focuses on six dimensions of governance: policy, regulation, institutional, stakeholder, transparency, and accountability. The findings indicate that the project has applied good governance principles across these six dimensions, however several challenges remain, such as the lack of regulatory integration across sectors, uncertainty in the electricity tariff setting, and the lengthy procurement process for the implementing private entity.
