Abstract

Through the service-learning program, students in the Sustainable Environmental Building class, Architecture Study Program, Petra Christian University collaborate with Village-own Enterprises (Badan Usaha Milik Desa) Makmur Bersinar Desa Jarak, recycled used materials into aesthetically functional objects for tourist facilities and infrastructure at Bukit Pecaringan Tourism Centre, Desa Jarak. Students designed and created sinks, swings, and piggybacks for the children's playground, and plant pots from end life tires. The utilization of end life tires be design work is an effort to take care of the environment. In this way, students learn to reduce the number of end life tires that increase yearly. This program and the design work of the waste became an aesthetic, functional object is an example to innovate for both other objects and purposes.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide insight to the residents of Semolowaru Village surabaya on the importance of increasing maternal competence in children's financial literacy from an early age The method of devotion applied in the form of 1) discussion and sharing of semolowa village mothers with the hope of this activity mothers get insight knowledge about financial management in accordance with the stages of child development, 2) training in the development of literacy learning methods for children. This training is expected to modify according to the characteristics of children so that children are able to apply financial management according to their age and development. Results from the implementation of activities are monitored and evaluated based on the results of questionnaires. The questionnaire was compiled by Tim Abdimas to be filled out by 20 participants whose results showed that 80% of the mothers of abdimas activity participants were able to absorb the concepts of financial management for children submitted by the abdimas team and were able to implement them to their children. This shows that in general, abdimas activities have a real impact on increasing the mother's knowledge about financial management for children

Abstract

Mangunkarsa Ecocamp is located on Grigak Beach, the village of Karang, Gunungkidul egency. It was built as the conservation area. However, there is almost no connection between Ecocamp and Karang village ; then it is required to build the roadway connecting those two locations. To meet the requirement, this public service programs attempted to provide the connecting roadway of those two locations. The roadway was designed with the length of 2,00 km and 3,00 meters width, and the surface course was designed as sand sheet pavement. The budget for material was supported by the government, and it was also provided by the local society for project execution . There were three steps to complete the program. The first step was location field-survey to make sure the site conditions, followed by soil sampling for subgrade design. The second was to perform laboratory experiment to verify physical and mechanical properties of soil, and it was followed with design the pavement , and the last was to execute the project. The laboratory experiment was done according to the standard, the pavement design was done according to the guidance issued by the Ministry of PUPR, and the project execution was done according to the basic standard. The results showed that the soil was met the requirement as subgrade, the thickness of the pavement was obtained 6 cm thick. The project execution was finished within 10 days

Abstract

Business development to increase the income of MSME actors by taking into account the potential of the village. Business development in the form of the production of corn chips snack food, raw materials in the form of corn have been produced on village-owned agricultural land and have been harvested, this is strongly supported by agricultural products from the area so that the development of a light processed food business is very feasible to do, so training is needed to make a business plan, which in the end is expected to improve the welfare of business actors

Abstract

Throughout the pandemic, all levels of society still want to continue to carry out their normal lives and activities. Including in carrying out life as individuals and in society. An example of this is community service activities that have a positive impact on the dynamics of community life. Community service is also an activity that fosters self-awareness of one’s surroundings. This self-awareness allows people to pay more attention, as a symbol of humanity. Humanity itself is an essential nature of humans that distinguishes them from other creatures. As a human being, it is something that must be done to have a greater sense of humanity towards others. The method that can be done to create a greater sense of humanity is community service. Community service can be done by anyone, including students who are studying. This activity will provide great learning in terms of socialization and living as a community side by side. Community service can be done. One of which is by socializing the positive activities that are carried out by suburban child service organizations in Surabaya. This will have an impact on the community who lacks awareness to know and participate in community service. One of them is by participating in campaigning and promoting childcare organizations to the community. One small thing that is implemented for a good purpose will shape the character and character, especially of the younger generation of Indonesia to be improved. Improving the nature and character will create leaders who have a high social spirit and that is what is needed by the Indonesian state.

Abstract

ABSTRAKMasa pandemic covid 19 yang terjadi semenjak akhir 2019 telah mengubah pola perilaku masarakat, tak terkecuali masayrakat Indonesia. Dunia Pendidikan dalam hal ini ada sistem pembelajaran juga terdapat perubahan, yang awalnya jarang menggunakan pemeblajaran jarak jauh anatu online, sekarang menjadi hal yang tak langka lagi terutama di kalangan Pendidikan Tinggi. Pelaksanaan KKN di era pandemi ini juga harus menyesuaikan dengan regulasi serta kondisi wilayah pada saat pelaksanaan KKN. Salah satau strategi pelkasanaan KKN di era pandemi yang dilakukan oleh UMSurabaya adalah KKN Back to Village (BTV) dengan harapan dapat dilaksanakan dari daerah dan tempat masing-masing mahasiwa atau wilalayah terdekat. Pelaksanaan KKN BTV di keluranahan Ploso RT 05 berjalan lancar dan dapat sambutan baik dari masyarakat. Program yang dilakukan adalah edukasi kepada masyarakay untuk tetap mentaati prokes dalam kegiatan sehari-hari karena pandemic masih belum berakir. ABSTRACTThe COVID-19 pandemic period that has occurred since the end of 2019 has changed the behavior pattern of the community, including the Indonesian people. In the world of education, in this case there is a learning system, there is also a change, which initially rarely used distance or online learning, now it is not rare anymore, especially in higher education circles. The implementation of KKN in this pandemic era must also adjust to regulations and regional conditions at the time of KKN implementation. One of the strategies for implementing KKN in the pandemic era carried out by UMSurabaya is KKN Back to Village (BTV) with the hope that it can be carried out from the area and place of each student or the nearest wilalayah. The implementation of the BTV KKN in the Ploso RT 05 sub-district went smoothly and received a good response from the community. The program carried out is educating the community to continue to adhere to the prokes in daily activities because the pandemic is still not over

Abstract

Rational drugs use is a must know-knowledge in preventing disability and death due to unnecessary drug use. Giving supplementation during pregnancy aims to reduce infant mortality and disability. Refreshing the rational use of supplementation in pregnancy and sharing knowledge in how to use Instagram as an education and communication media between midwives and pregnant women aims in improving the midwives’ skills as educators and good communicators. The method of this activity was divided into three stages, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the implementation stage, midwives’ knowledge about supplementation rational and social media use were increasing. the evaluation stage showed that the midwives could use Instagram as education and communication media between midwives and pregnant women

Abstract

Tanaman obat keluarga atau yang lebih populer sebagai TOGA merupakan tanaman obat yang ditanam di lingkup lingkungan keluarga. Pada masa pandemi ini, terjadi tren peningkatan penggunaan obat tradisional untuk menjaga daya tahan tubuh. Berbagai pembuktian secara ilmiah tentang manfaat tanaman obat dalam hal menjaga daya tahan tubuh untuk mencegah Covid-19 merupakan peluang bagi masyarakat dalam hal pemanfaatan TOGA. PKK di Kelurahan Karangrejo memiliki tanaman TOGA yang belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik sehingga merupakan mitra yang potensial untuk dikembangkan potensinya. Tujuan dari program kegiatan kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pembuatan jamu instan berbahan dasar TOGA untuk meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh untuk mencegah keparahan Covid-19. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa mitra mampu menghasilkan jamu instan berbahan dasar TOGA. Pengetahuan mitra tentang pengetahuan umum dan pembuatan jamu meningkat sebesar 21,05 dari 75,19 menjadi 96,24 setelah mengikuti pelatihan pembuatan jamu instan.

Abstract

The strategic geographic location of Indonesia comes with tremendous seismic and tsunami thread. This catastrophe has been recorded to be happened in a certain period of time in the past, as Indonesia is located in the meeting point of three earth’s big plateau, Indo-Australia, Eurasia, and Pacific. Java, especially in the southern part of the island, is also greatly threatened by this danger. Kondang Merak is one of the beaches in East Java, located in South Malang, that is projected to be a tourism destination, especially when the Southern Java Road has been all connected. Nevertheless, despite the hardship caused by the undeveloped condition and unfinished road, many tourists still make effort to go there and find the view worth their hardships. The lack of facility found in the site makes the presence of evacuation route mapping urgent, as the catastrophe may happen anytime. This Community Service program takes place using observation and interview methods during the Covid-19 pandemic, which mostly is done by relying on communication technology, with topographic mapping using satellite imaging, which produces three evacuation recommendation points with safe contour heights. In this research, we used digital satellite imaging to map the contour of Kondang Merak, which resulted in three evacuation node recommendations. It can focus on the details of habitable buildings, to resist and give safety to its occupant, from seismic force and tsunami in the future.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic affects every aspect of human life, including economic aspect. The government urged the implementation of social restriction policy, and as consequences, public activities are limited. According to Credit Union’s board members, there is an increase of loans rate since the social restriction begin. It is inevitable since essential needs are increasing and at the same time the financial conditions are unstable. All of the members in Credit Union Pangudi Luhur Kasih Semarang need to manage their financial issues properly regardless of their age especially in this pandemic time. Thus, this community service program aims to give better understandings to the members about the importance of self-management and financial literation by webinar.  Webinar was divided into three sections according to the audiences characteristics, members who had already married (n=100), close to pension age (n=334), and young member or singles (n=169). Based on the analyses, there is significant differences between pre-test and post-test score after conducting the webinar.
