Abstract

The concept of human rights contained in the Universal Declaration is the product of an era that is inseparable from the influence of the historical, ideological, post-second world war intellectual background. Therefore, the concept of human rights, more or less, is the result of cultural fusion after the Western secular Enlightenment that is not grounded in religious principles. Regarding the concept of human rights as expressed in the Universal Declaration, some have accepted without reservation on the ground that the concept of human rights they have is in accordance with religious teachings. Conversely, some have considered that the basic principles of the Declaration is from the Western secular cultures that tend to put aside religious values. The third is the position of the moderates who take a cautious stance for accepting it with some changes and modifications.

Abstract

In several studies on the important role of educators or teachers in the process of socialization and development of the child, Good & Brophy, 2007; Linney & Seidman, 1989 stated that, "a competence teacher is one who is committed to work, is an effective classroom manager, is a positive role model with whom student can identify, is enthusiastic and warm, continuous effort for self-improvement in teaching, possesses skills in human relationship, and can adapt his or her skill to a specific context ". There was also a study done by Brophy, 1992, outlining that "the most powerful socializing influence of the school lies in those who translate program goals into action, the teacher". Also, as stated by by Kohl, 1984 that "children learn best from teachers who are role models, who loves learning". The three descriptions of the important role of educators in the socialization and development of the child above are similar to what was found by Schickedanz, 1990 in his research that "teacher's verbal styles have been found to have an impact on the development of language skill in pre-school children". At this point, it is very important to always make efforts to increase the competence of educators at every level of education, in this case in early childhood education.

Abstract

Islamic education must be managed as good as possible. Management of Islamic education is one of the efforts to increase the quality of life of the people (ummah) from backwardness morally, materially, and spiritually. In service management, managers should strive to provide the best service to all customers by moving all the management and staff to give satisfaction to all parties through a variety of ways. By doing so, the manager of Islamic education is demanded to provide satisfaction to both internal and external customers. Both of these customers have a reciprocal relationship and mutual need: internal customers require external ones, and vice versa. When internal customers are served well, then they are satisfied, then the service they received will be a factor of professional attitudes in working, such as trying to improve performance, increasing loyalty, improving discipline, and so on. If the external customers are also served well and they feel satisfied, there will be a high confidence in the existence of the institution, even they will provide real support.

Abstract

Speaking of leadership, particularly concerning Islamic leadership is an issue that is very interesting to study. Because from a good leadership system, there will be a good order of society as well.In Indonesia the majority of the population is Muslim, but admitted or not, from the beginning until now the implementation of democracy that is also part of the teachings of Islam, has still been quite alarming. This can be seen from the inequality of the social position of women. Since 14 centuries ago, the Qur'an has abolished a wide range of discrimination between men and women, the Qur'an gives rights to women as well as the rights granted to men. In this case is the issue of Islamic leadership in which Islam has given rights to women as that given to men. In addition, Islam has also impose obligations to women as that imposed to men, except the rights or obligations devoted by Islam to men.

Abstract

Madrasah (Islamic schools) have a very important role in instilling good values?? and simultaneously preventing the bad and evil ones to the students who will be the successor to the national leadership. Madrasah, formal education institutions introducing Islamic-based curriculum have contributed to the formation of noble character to the students, including the learning of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) on the prohibition of stealing (taking the rights of others without getting their permission). Stealing could be be the root of corruption, robbery and so on. If the word 'stealing' means taking the rights of others without getting their permission, but the word 'corruption' is focused more on taking the state-owned money. In essence, the word 'stealing' and 'corruption' have the same meaning taking goods or property that are not theirs or without getting their permission. Madrasah have long taught Islamic jurisprudence on the prohibition of stealing, including sanctions that must be imposed to a thief.

Abstract

The sura an Nisa' 101 is a verse that describes the permissibility of qasar prayers, although the there are still debates among the Muslim scholars in understanding the verse in terms of the qasar prayers, be they allowed under fear conditions (khauf) or in a safe condition. The criteria for traveling for being allowed to perform qasar prayers is not described in the sura an Nisa' (4:101), but an explanation of the criteria for traveling for being allowed to perform qasar prayers is described in the hadith of the Prophet (PBUH). In terms of the mileage of traveling that allows to perform qasar prayers, there are differences of viewpoints among Islamic jurists. All is because of the results of so-called isntimbat al-hukm from different hadith, resulting in different understandings. According to Abu Hanifah the mileage allowed to perform qasar prayers is 81 KM; while according to such Islamic jurists as Syafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali, the mileage allowed to perform qasar prayers is 89 KM. Those who become inter-provincial bus drivers are considerably eligible to perform qasar prayers, because they have met the criteria established by mufassir (Qur'anic interpretators)

Abstract

After Ibn Rushd, the Muslim world has almost certainly lost a strong leader in the field of science. All this is correct if seen from the perspective of Sunnis. But it is not for the Shia for having a prominent figure like Mulla Sadra that is considered to have brought fresh air to the world of philosophy (especially al-hikmah al-muta'aliyah). This paper will discuss about who Mulla Sadra is and the characteristics of thinking about al-hikmah al-muta'aliyah and al-asfar al-arba'ah. By using historical analysis, the writer finds that the Mulla Sadra's transcendental theosophy or al-hikmah al-muta'aliyah is a kind of wisdom teachings based on three principles, namely intellectual intuition (dzawq or ishraq), rational ('aql or istidlal), and shari'ah. In addition, the fundamental principle underlying it is the concept of ashalat al-wujud, tasykik al-wujud and wahdat al-wujud. One of the teachings is about four human journeys to obtain the truth of God correctly. The four journeys are ; 1). The journey from the created world (al-Khalq), the visible world, leading to the world of the creator, the world the real truth (al-Haqq), 2). The journey in a true righteousness (al-Haqq) through the true knowledge (al-Haqq), 3). The journey from the the Most True toward the created world, through the true knowledge obtained from the two stages above, and 4). The journey along with the Most True in the created world.

Abstract

The management of zakat in modern times, has made a significant development, especially Musim-majority countries. Of course, it requires a theological foundation, either from the Qur'an or Sunnah (Prophet tradistions). The fragility of theological foundation will lead to possible criticism from Muslims. This study will answer two questions, first; how is the interpretation of the principle of zakat management based on QS al-Taubah: 103? Second, how is the viewpoints ulema (Muslim scholars, especially engaged in Islamic jurisprudence/figh) in interpreting the verse? This study uses a qualitative approach by using a descriptive-comparative-analytical study, namely describing the ulema interpretations related to the Surah al-Taubah: 103, coparing the viewpoints of fiqh ulema and then analyzing it critically. The comparative study uses several scholarly arguments of fiqh ulema. This study concludes that basically zakat management is something that is very vital in the process of utilizing zakat as one of the economic pillars in the public distribution. The essential principle which must be addressed in the zakat management is the managerial aspect and professional, effective, skillful human resources that are capable of dealing with the entire forms of utilization of zakat, and this system can only be done by an agency or institution that is powerful and able to reach the whole area of the poor.
