Abstract

Conservation education is a program that is packaged with the aim of providing knowledge to the younger generation to be more aware and more concerned about the environment and problems and their interrelationships. The purpose of this program is to introduce conservation through the Forester Education program in Jerukwangi Village. This activity was applied in two methods of implementation, namely formal and informal. The method of implementation was formally implemented in State Elementary School 2 by providing material exposure, while the method of implementation was informally carried out at the community service post in Jerukwangi Village with the target of young children using the approach of playing while drawing. Both formal and informal provision of material has given children knowledge about the importance of ecosystem balance that needs to be maintained. The results of this activity are the embedded spirit of protecting the environment from an early age, starting with good habits such as throwing trash in its place, protecting and caring for plants, learning to make chains and food webs, as well as various activities that hone soft skills and character education. Abstract

Irrigation Network Rehabilitation activities are the main supporting activities in the agricultural business by providing irrigation water for the realization of food sovereignty, particularly rice. Lowland rice is the principal agricultural commodity in Sindangsari village, Cianjur. More than 50 per cent of this village's rice fields are irrigated. Unfortunately the current irrigation conditions are classified as dry due to drought, thus inhibiting rice production. In addition to being dry, there are also many points of garbage accumulation that pollute the water flow and even obstruct the water flow. This activity aims at mapping the condition of irrigation canals in Sindangsari village. The irrigation channel map has been successfully prepared and approved by the Cianjur Regency Regional Planning Agency and the Ciranjang District Water Resources Management Office, so that more policies on irrigation issues in the area can be taken into consideration. Key words: irrigation, network rehabilitation, rice, rice field

Abstract

Sirnagalih Village is a village that has undergone urbanization with a large number of population that generates a lot of garbage from every household, both organic and non-organic waste. One of the organic waste that is not utilized by the community is the remaining taro plants. Taro can be processed into compost that can fertilize plants. But unfortunately not many people are aware of the importance of using organic waste to be made more useful. This has led to the implementation of community assistance programs, namely socialization and composting. The purpose of this socialization and composting facilitation assistance is to increase public awareness in utilizing organic waste based on waste problems that occur in Sirnagalih Village. The method used is by interviewing the public about issues related to waste, socializing waste segregation, and making compost with the community. The result of this socialization is that farmers can process taro into compost and increase farmers' awareness of the importance of utilizing waste, especially organic waste so that it can benefit the plants again. The development of composting skills from other organic waste needs to be carried out independently by the community. In this regard, various parties including Bappeda, village government, institutions, and village government can work together well so that community service activities can run well and can develop the potential of local villages. Keywords: compost, leftover taro harvest, organic waste, utilization

Abstract

Sirnagalih Village is a village located relatively close to Bogor City, although it is still included in the area of Bogor Regency. The location is close to urban areas, making the social life of the people of Sirnagalih Village almost the same as urban areas. It was not only the condition of the community that was changing, but also the increase in infrastructure development felt by the villagers. This condition causes a reduction in green open space and land for agriculture. Land limitations can be overcome by optimizing the land around the house or yard. The purpose of this program is to provide awareness to the community to be able to utilize existing land optimally so that it can provide benefits to the environment (greening facilities). The program was carried out on Thursday 27 June 2019 in Sirnagalih Village and was divided into 2 stages, namely socialization and demonstration. The socialization was delivered to the representatives of the ladies and gentlemen from each RW in Sirnagalih Village. The socialization activities were divided into a number of events, ranging from the delivery of material to discussions with the people of Sirnagalih Village. The material presented in the form of potential yards that are important to be developed, types of plants that can be planted in the yard and how to plant it, examples of yards that are decorated for an effort to beautify parts of the house, and the benefits of joining the Yard Utilization Program. In addition, sketches were also made in the form of house plans and plots of land so that participants could draw plans for their use. During the socialization activities, the community seemed enthusiastic listening to the material and giving questions. Keywords: Land, Sirnagalih Village, socialization

Abstract

Tempe is a fermented soybean product commonly consumed by people in Indonesia. The presence of tempe industry is often found, especially in the village of Kuripan Kertoharjo. In addition to being a pillar of the people's economy, it also creates its own problems. Processing soybeans into tempeh will produce a byproduct in the form of tempe liquid waste which has the potential to disrupt environmental harmony. The negative impact of tempe waste can be minimized by being used as liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this program is that the community can process tempe waste into liquid organic fertilizer so that it can reduce tempe waste that is discarded and is beneficial to the community. The method used before the program is by observing the number of tempe industries that will be used as samples. Tempe waste samples were used from five different tempe industrial sites. The method used in the program is socialization with lecture techniques and simple practices using tempe waste and EM4 as compost activators. The result of this program is the program is divided into two activities, namely socialization and practice, where the socialization consists of the delivery of material related to the environment, waste, and liquid organic fertilizer. Simple practice is done by practicing how to make liquid organic fertilizer in front of the community then followed by the community. Every activity of the program runs smoothly and it is hoped that the utilization of tempe waste can be carried out continuously to prevent environmental pollution. Abstract

Cikeusik villagers use groundwater in almost all household activities. Utilization of ground water is done for household or domestic needs. The amount of population is one of the variables of the domestic water needs of an area, the more the population, the higher the amount of water needs. Groundwater inventory activity aims to collect data and explore the existing water resources in Cikeusik Village. Water discharge measurements were carried out on 4 artesian wells and interviews were done to each RT and RW in Cikeusik Village to find out the availability of clean water and the number of wells owned by villagers as a source of clean water. The measured water discharge from each artesian well in Cikeusik Village has an average value of 0.037 Liters / second so that in one day 12700 liters of water can be produced. The calculation results show that the availability of water from artesian wells built by Cikeusik Village only meets the needs of 181 people for one year. The number of Cikeusik villagers who do not yet have private wells is still very much, 944 out of 5820 households. Therefore, further research about groundwater source is recommended in Cikeusik. Research such as prediction of potential groundwater reserves and water quality and ground water level is really essential. Abstract

The waste management system carried out by the people of Kampung Benger, Nanggala Village is not yet good. This can be seen from the garbage thrown by the village community, not sorted between organic and non-organic waste. The increase in landfill without proper waste management is estimated to be the reason for not creating a clean environment. Most of the people of Kampung Benger still throw their trash into the gutter or burn it around the house, even though there is already a Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) in Nanggala Village. The purpose of this activity is to find more efficient and appropriate household organic waste disposal media to be applied in Nanggala Village. The more efficient and appropriate household organic waste disposal media to be implemented in Nanggala Village is by making 2 trash bins, each measuring 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm. Because when compared with making biopori holes as much as 1 piece per day, making 2 pieces of trash for more than two months is more effective and efficient. This can make it easier for residents to dispose of waste and do not spend much time when making it, compared to the time needed to make one biopori hole every day. Keywords: landfill, Nanggala Village, organic waste
