Abstract

The goal of learning physics is not to memorize the formulas or equations, but to increase conceptual understanding. For increase conceptual understanding about motion, force analysis skill is the most fundamental skills needed by students. Free-body diagram will help students to analyze force. So this study aims to determine and analyze the correlation between quality of free-body diagrams and mastery of dynamics concepts. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Sungai Penuh. The population is students of XI MIA. Using whole population sampling, 50 students. The learning process and tests on dynamics were to gather the data about quality of free-body diagram and concept understanding. Both data was normally distributed and linearly related with a positive correlation shown by a scatterplot. The Pearson correlation test conducted to show the relationship between variables. There was high correlation between the quality of free-body diagrams and conceptual understanding as indicated by the Pearson correlation coefficient . The correlation was highly positive, which means that students who draw high quality free-body diagram tend to have high conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the learning motivation of class X students of SMAN 1 Godean in physics. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were students of class X Mipa 3 at SMAN 1 Godean. The research instrument used was a questionnaire on students' motivation to learn physics. This type of research data is quantitative data. The technique used in this research is quantitative analysis using descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate that the learning motivation of students at SMAN 1 Godean in physics is classified as strong because of the five indicators the percentage above 60% is obtained where the results show a strong category. The results of the study also show that learning motivation is classified as moderate with a percentage of 67%.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to produce LKPD for SMP/MTs physics learning which can improve the ability of students with a series of 4C skill activities which are included in the LKPD. This type of research is R&D using the Tiagharajan model, namely 4-D which includes delfinel (development), design (design), delvellolp (development), disselminatel (distribution). The design of the research subject was 36 class VII students of MTs Ma'arif NU Kelrttelk. Data analysis techniques used descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The data analyzed using qualitative descriptive included the eligibility of student worksheets from material experts, media experts, and student relations, while quantitative descriptive included the results of increasing learning outcomes with pre-test and poll-test questions. From the calculation of the material expert validation questionnaire, the result was 91.05%, so that the LKPD included in the Golri category was very feasible. From the calculation of the media expert validation questionnaire, the result was 87.99%, so that the LKPD included in the score category was very feasible. From the calculation of the science educator practitioner's questionnaire, the result was 86.35%, based on the practicality criteria of science educators, LKPD included in the very practical category. From the calculation of the students' research question papers, an average of 79.96% was obtained, so based on the practicality criterion, the LKPD was practical. The research results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes after learning was done using the 4C skill learning LKPD. This can be seen from the results of the analysis of the N-Gain test results of learning selbelsar 0.42 katelgolri "seldang".

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the argumentation abilities of students in class VIII-1 in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at SMP Negeri 57 Palembang in the material of style and motion using the Toulmin's Argumentation Pattern (TAP) model. The Toulmin argumentation model is an instrument used to process arguments presented by students which consists of 6 indicators namely Claim, Data, Warrant, Backing, Qualifier, and Rebuttal. The method used in this research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out in two stages, namely tests in the form of description questions and non-tests in the form of interviews with subject teachers. The results of the test research show that the level of students' argumentation abilities is low, where they are only at level 1 with a percentage of 58.10%, level 2 with a percentage of 30.95%, and level 3 with a percentage of 10.95% but no one is at level 4 yet and level 5. These results indicate that argumentation skills are still in the low category. The research results obtained that students have not been able to connect between material and concepts correctly. Then, learning activities carried out for some time were constrained by adjustments to the end of PPKM which had lasted for 3 years. Students are still adapting to the learning process that has begun to be carried out face-to-face. A teacher expected to be able to immediately provide the right learning process with the existing conditions

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimum percentage of addition of protactinium-231 in a ThN-U233N fueled PWR reactor.In ThN-U233N, uranium-233 is used as the fissile material. Pa-231 as burnable poisson is added to ThN-U233N fuel to reduce the keff value. In this research conducted benchmarking keff values ​​of OpenMC and SRAC codes, homogeneous and heterogeneous core configurations, and the addition of Pa-231 in ThN-U233N fuel. Neutronic analysis was performed using the OpenMC code. In the homogeneous core configuration, the enrichment percentage of U-233 is varied by 1%-15%. Meanwhile, the heterogeneous core configuration uses 3 variations of ring geometry and fuel. The results of the benchmarking of the OpenMC and SRAC code keff values ​​show a maximum error of 1,906%. The homogeneous core configuration produces the optimum value for U-233 enrichment of 3%. Meanwhile, the optimum value of the heterogeneous core configuration is achieved in ring geometry F1 = F2 = F3 = 3 rings with enrichment of U-233 at F1 = 0,5%, F2 = 3%, F3 = 5,5% and addition of Pa-231 of 1.5%. The optimum calculation results has an excess reactivity value 8.37%.

Abstract

Science and technology are advancing rapidly, leading to the emergence of the society 5.0 era. In this era, social problem-solving is achieved by integrating physical and virtual spaces through the use of technology. Consequently, there has been a shift in the field of education, where the incorporation of technology is now essential for effective learning. However, traditional teaching methods still prevail due to educators lacking proficiency in utilizing technology. Hence, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of digital worksheets for physics experiments based on Physics Demonstration Videos on YouTube (PDVY). The research methodology employed is the 3D design approach, which involves defining, designing, and developing. The research sample comprises 10 experts in physics education and 12 participants from the science program who are familiar with technology-assisted learning. Data was collected using validation sheets and analyzed quantitatively using the Rasch Model, as well as qualitatively through descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the digital worksheets for physics experiments based on PDVY exhibit good validity, reliability, and varying levels of difficulty. Consequently, this product can be considered suitable for facilitating experimental-based physics learning.

Abstract

The learning process in the Kurikulum Merdeka ensures that the learning practices are student-centered. The focus of this curriculum is the revival of learning. One important point in this new curriculum is Modul Ajar. Modul Ajar has significant role in the success of learning process, especially in the subject of Physics. The government provides guidelines for the development, along with several samples, because in this curriculum, teachers are given the authority to develop the Modul Ajar based on characters and needs of the students. This matter creates new problem which is the teacher difficulty on developing Modul Ajar in accordance to government guidelines, student characters, and also different school environtments. Modul ajar in Merdeka Mengajar platform are still limited. Therefore, the researcher proposes to analyze the Physics Modul Ajar in Merdeka Platform in the context of Local Wisdom as a Needs Analysis for the development of future Modul Ajar. This local wisdom aligns with Profil Pelajar Pancasila, which is one of the key components of Kurikulum Merdeka. The method used in this research is Document Analysis method and surveys. Document Analysis includes the analysis of the availability of Modul Ajar in Merdeka Mengajar Platform, which contains General Information, Core Component, and Attachments. A survey was conducted among 57 Physics teachers. The survey point out that 82,5% of the respondents consider the Merdeka Mengajar Platform as a reference for developing of Modul Ajar.

Abstract

In this research, iron sand was obtained from the Sei Serayu river in Deli Serdang Regency. The method for extracting iron sand is by manual extraction using a permanent magnet. The samples that have been obtained are then given temperature treatment with variations of 500 o C, 600 o C and 700 o C so that the iron sand undergoes oxidation. Next, the samples that have been heat treated are characterized using XRD, SEM and XRF. From the XRD test results it was found that the sample consisted of Fe3O4 with a magnetite phase. XRD diffraction peaks were obtained at angles 2θ: 17.26 o, 29.98 o, 35.4 o, 43.16 o, 57.08 o, and 62.56 o. SEM test results show that sample D contains magnetite (Fe3O4) with a silver color. Based on the analysis of test results, it can be concluded that the most optimal results are found in sample D with a sintering temperature of 700o C.

Abstract

WHO has determined the threshold for exposure to magnetic fields, an intensity of 100µT for the general public, and an intensity of 500µT for workers, but the impact of this exposure on bones still needs to be studied. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of exposure to ELF electromagnetic fields with intensities of 500µT and 1000µT on bones. This research was included in the True Design Experiment using 21 Balb/C mice which were divided equally into 3 groups, the control group, the 500µT intensity experimental group, and the 1000µT intensity experimental group. Intermittent exposure is 3 hours for 30 days. The variables measured in this study were the length and diameter of the right and left femur bones of mice. The measurement data were then analyzed using SPSS 23 software. The results of this study revealed that there was no significant difference in the length of the femur bone between the experimental group and the control group. Meanwhile, in the diameter of the right femur bone of mice, a significant difference was found between the experimental group at 1000µT intensity and the control group. In the diameter of the left femur bone of mice, a significant difference was found between the experimental group at 500µT intensity and 1000µT intensity compared to the control group.

Abstract

This  research was conducted in North Sumatra, namely at Iskandar Muda, Malikussaleh and Deli Serdang stations in the period 1885 to 2019. The purpose of the study was to analyze seasonal and interannual rainfall patterns. The method used is Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and correlation between rainfall, sea surface temperature and wind. The results of the study showed that the rainfall pattern at Iskandar Muda, Malikussaleh and Deli Serdang stations had two peaks of rainfall. The peak rainfall of the three stations occurs in May and the second peak has differences between Deli Serdang and Iskandar Muda and Malikussaleh stations. Where the peaks of high periodization are only in the 6-month and 12-month periods. There is also a peak periodogram from each station seen in 18-30 months. Rainfall periodogram analysis shows the magnitude of data frequency for each phase cycle and its frequency. The correlation between rainfall, wind and sea surface temperature (SST) at the three stations has a different pattern. At Deli Serdang station, there is an influence of ENSO and IOD, while at Iskandar Muda and Malikussaleh stations there is no influence of ENSO and IOD. Then in the September, October, November (SON) season at the three stations there is no visible influence of ENSO and IOD.
