Abstract

Indonesia is a disaster-prone country due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and the intersection of major tectonic plates, making disaster preparedness an urgent need, especially for elementary school students who are considered a vulnerable group. SD Negeri Lawe Tua in Aceh Tenggara District is located in an area highly prone to flash floods and landslides and has not yet implemented a structured disaster mitigation program. This community service program aims to improve student preparedness and strengthen school capacity through the Safe School Program (Sekolah Aman Bencana/SAB). The activities included disaster education, evacuation route training, establishment of a School Disaster Preparedness Team (SDPT), installation of evacuation signs and SOPs, and a full-scale evacuation drill. Evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests, evacuation time measurements, and observation of student behavior and teacher involvement. The results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge, with average scores rising from 36% (pre-test) to 86% (post-test), reflecting a 50% improvement. Understanding of evacuation routes increased the most, reaching 65%. Teachers also demonstrated better readiness as facilitators, and the school gained more complete disaster mitigation facilities. In conclusion, SAB-based preparedness education is proven effective in enhancing students’ ability to respond to emergencies and strengthening school disaster management. The program is recommended for sustainable implementation and replication in other disaster-prone schools.

Abstract

Developmental disorders in children can significantly hinder their potential to achieve an optimal quality of life. Prevention of these disorders relies heavily on systematic early detection efforts. At the Mekar Sari Village Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), problems related to growth disorders and developmental delays, exacerbated by a lack of early detection practices, pose a public health challenge. This community service activity, implementing the KPSP (Pre-Screening Development Questionnaire), aims to detect developmental disorders in children early using the Pre-Screening Development Questionnaire (KPSP). Screening was conducted on children aged 6 - 60 months using a descriptive observational approach. The KPSP implementation involved parents completing the questionnaire, followed by direct observations to assess the children's motor, language, and social aspects. The results revealed that 82% of the children exhibited age-appropriate development, 16% fell into the questionable category, and 2% experienced developmental deviations. Nutritional status was also monitored, showing that 80% of the children were categorized as having good nutrition, 18% were overweight, and 2% were undernourished. This activity had a positive impact by raising parental awareness about the importance of optimal stimulation and regular monitoring of child growth and development. With support from local governments and technological innovations, this program hasthe potential to be implemented in other regions to prevent future health and developmental problems in children.

Abstract

Injection trauma in children is a common problem that can lead to anxiety, fear, and refusal of health care procedures in the future. One effective non-pharmacological approach to preventing injection trauma is audiovisual distraction therapy. This community service activity aimed to provide education on audiovisual distraction therapy as an effort to prevent injection trauma in children in Hamlet II, Sidodadi Village, Biru-Biru Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. The implementation methods included health education sessions, demonstrations on the use of audiovisual media, and interactive discussions with children and parents. The media used consisted of educational videos and animations designed to capture children’s attention during injection procedures. The results of the activity showed an increase in parents’ knowledge and positive responses from children, as indicated by reduced anxiety and fear during injection simulations. Audiovisual distraction therapy education has proven to be a simple, effective, and easily applicable alternative intervention for both health workers and parents in preventing injection trauma in children. It is expected that this activity will improve the quality of pediatric health services and help create positive experiences during medical procedures.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesiapan ibu hamil dalam menyukseskan pemberian ASI Eksklusif melalui edukasi dan praktik pijat laktasi. ASI Eksklusif merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kesehatan dan tumbuh kembang bayi hingga usia dua tahun. Namun, masih banyak ibu hamil yang belum memahami teknik perawatan payudara dan pijat laktasi untuk mendukung produksi ASI. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui penyuluhan menggunakan media leaflet serta demonstrasi pijat laktasi dengan media pantom. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Mekar Sari, Kecamatan Deli Tua, Kabupaten Deli Serdang dengan sasaran seluruh ibu hamil yang hadir pada pertemuan tersebut. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tiga tahap utama, yaitu pemberian edukasi mengenai ASI Eksklusif, pendampingan praktik pijat laktasi secara langsung, serta sesi diskusi dan tanya jawab untuk menggali pemahaman peserta. Kegiatan ini terlaksana dengan dukungan bidan koordinator dari Puskesmas Deli Tua, para kader kesehatan desa, tim pendokumentasian, serta perangkat desa yang membantu pelaksanaan acara. Selama kegiatan, ibu hamil tampak aktif dalam berdiskusi dan menunjukkan ketertarikan untuk mempraktikkan pijat laktasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memperoleh peningkatan pemahaman mengenai manfaat ASI Eksklusif, teknik pijat laktasi, serta langkah-langkah yang dapat dilakukan untuk mendukung produksi ASI sejak masa kehamilan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif berupa meningkatnya kesiapan ibu hamil dalam memPersiapkan pemberian ASI setelah melahirkan. Edukasi dan praktik langsung yang diberikan diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada meningkatnya keberhasilan program ASI Eksklusif di wilayah tersebut. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dinilai bermanfaat dan dapat dijadikan model dalam upaya peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan ibu dan anak di lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

According to the Minister of Health Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning His study aims to analyze the relationship between the accuracy of diagnostic codes (ICD-10) and procedural codes (ICD-9) with the eligibility of National Health Insurance (JKN) claims at RSU Natama Tebing Tinggi. Ineligible or pending JKN claims are often caused by coding errors that do not comply with ICD guidelines. This research employs a quantitative approach with the Spearman Rank correlation analysis method, as the data did not follow a normal distribution based on the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The results of the study indicate a strong and significant relationship between the accuracy of ICD-10 code assignments and claim eligibility (r = 0.746; p = 0.000), as well as a very strong and significant relationship between the accuracy of ICD-9 code assignments and claim eligibility (r = 0.825; p = 0.000). Most JKN claims were declared eligible by BPJS Health verifiers, although a small portion of claims were pending due to inaccurate coding or missing documentation. These findings highlight the importance of improving coders' competencies and validating coding before claim submission. Hospitals also need to develop integrated information systems that can detect coding inconsistencies and strengthen interdepartmental coordination in the claim management process.

Abstract

Stress is a common mental health issue experienced by rural communities due to economic pressures, workload, and social dynamics. Limited knowledge and coping skills make individuals more vulnerable to psychological problems. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to empower the community through education and relaxation technique training as a strategy to prevent stress. The methods included health education, demonstration of deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation techniques, and guided independent practice. The results showed an 85% increase in participants’ knowledge and a 78% improvement in relaxation skills. This program successfully enhanced community awareness regarding stress management and provided practical skills that can be applied independently. In conclusion, community empowerment through relaxation training is effective in supporting community-based stress prevention.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic medical condition in which blood pressure in the arteries increases persistently above normal values, namely ≥140 mmHg for systolic pressure and/or ≥90 mmHg for diastolic pressure. Hypertension is defined as a persistent increase in blood pressure that can be caused by various factors such as age, unhealthy lifestyle, stress, and lack of physical activity. This condition is generally found in the elderly group, due to changes in the function of aging organs and blood vessels. Indonesian Tera Gymnastics is a form of breathing exercise and slow movements, similar to Tai Chi, aimed at improving physical health and relaxation. For people with hypertension, this exercise helps lower blood pressure by improving heart function, breathing, and relaxation. The partners of this community service activity are villagers in Dusun III, Sidodadi Village, Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method of this community service is counseling and Tera gymnastics. The results of the community service carried out through Tera gymnastics The results of blood pressure measurements carried out before and after the implementation of Tera gymnastics showed a tendency to decrease blood pressure.

Abstract

Imunisasi dasar lengkap merupakan salah satu strategi utama dalam upaya preventif untuk melindungi bayi dan balita dari penyakit menular yang termasuk dalam Penyakit yang Dapat Dicegah Dengan Imunisasi (PD3I). Rendahnya cakupan imunisasi dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya kasus KLB seperti campak, rubela, difteri, poliomielitis, serta meningkatkan angka kesakitan dan kematian pada anak. Berdasarkan data nasional dan laporan WHO, masih terdapat anak-anak yang belum mendapatkan imunisasi lengkap sehingga edukasi kepada orangtua sangat diperlukan. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran orangtua mengenai pentingnya imunisasi dasar lengkap melalui penyuluhan kesehatan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 02 Desember 2025 di Balai Desa Ujung Labuhan, Kecamatan Namorambe, Kabupaten Deli Serdang dengan jumlah peserta 20 orang tua bayi dan balita. Metode penyuluhan meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, dan pembagian leaflet sebagai media tambahan. Materi yang diberikan mencakup pengertian imunisasi dasar lengkap, jenis-jenis imunisasi sesuai usia, manfaat imunisasi bagi anak dan keluarga, serta risiko bila imunisasi tidak diberikan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta mengikuti kegiatan dengan baik, aktif bertanya, dan mampu menjelaskan kembali materi yang telah diberikan. Penyuluhan ini terbukti meningkatkan pemahaman orangtua terhadap pentingnya imunisasi dasar lengkap sebagai upaya memutus rantai penularan penyakit, meningkatkan kekebalan tubuh anak, serta mendukung tercapainya target kesehatan masyarakat. Dengan demikian, kegiatan edukasi seperti ini perlu dilakukan secara berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan cakupan imunisasi di wilayah kerja pelayanan kesehatan.

Abstract

The implementation of an effective Occupational Safety and Health (K3) system in all work units, including plantations and palm oil mills (PKS), is very important because it has a direct impact on employee productivity. Therefore, education on the implementation of K3 at PKS Negeri Lama still needs to be carried out as a preventive measure in dealing with work accidents.This activity was held on February 15, 2025, at the PT. Cisadane Sawit Raya Negeri Lama PKS, using a seminar method and aids in the form of picture booklets and leaflets containing information on the implementation of K3 in the workplace. Participants were employees directly involved in high-risk work and exposed to work environment conditions.The results of the activity showed an increase in understanding of the implementation of K3 among employees, namely 83.3%. In addition, from the results of observations and discussions from the PkM team with employees of PT. Cisadane Sawit Raya Negeri Lama, it was also found that: 1) The level of work risk between divisions is different so that the company needs to pay special attention to divisions with high risks so that the implementation of K3 is more targeted; 2) This activity received a positive response from employees, which indicates that awareness of the importance of implementing K3 in the work environment among employees will increase; and 3) support from the company is needed so that an efficient and sustainable work system is created.

Abstract

Immunization is the most effective public health intervention for preventing menular infections in babies and women. However, kepatuhan terhadap jadwal imunisasi is still a problem in many pedesaan areas, including Desa Sigara-gara, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Factors that affect ketidakpatuhan are not limited to the availability of healthcare services; they also include aspects of knowledge, sikap, trust, and culture as well as the quality of communication between healthcare providers and the general public. This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of complementary education methods for improving immunization skills. The method used is literary analysis and conceptual analysis of several health education models that are relevant to the social conditions of the local community. The study's findings indicate that complementary education that is multimodal, collaborative, and community-based can increase understanding, trust, and self-awareness regarding children's immunization. Because of this, the implementation of complementary education methods is advised as a strategy to support the routine immunization program at the local level.
