Abstract

This study included quasi-experimental research with the research design to be used, namely Pretest-Post Control-Group Design, which aims to determine the effect of inquiry learning models internalized Qur'anic verse verses on Islamic character and understanding the participants' chemical concepts students of class XI MIA MAN 2 Barru. The research subjects were the XI MIA 2 class as an experimental class which was taught by the model of internalized inquiry of the verses of the Qur'an and the XI MIA 1 class as a control class that was taught by the inquiry model without internalizing the verses of the Qur'an. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results showed that; 1) The average value of the Islamic character of the experimental class aspects of gratitude, honesty, courtesy, and humility in the experimental class does not have very few criteria while in the control class has less and less criteria, 2) Percentage of understanding the concept of reaction rate in the class being taught with the inquiry model internalized the verses of the Qur'an is 78 in the good category while for the class taught by the inquiry model without internalizing the verses of the Qur'an the reaction rate is 69 in the sufficient category, 3) The test results The hypothesis for Islamic characters α = 0.05 obtained a value of tcount 6.067 > ttable 2.003 and significance (0.000 < 0.05) indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, while testing the hypothesis for understanding the concept with t-test at a significant level, α = 0.05 obtained the value of tcount 2.117 > ttable 2.003 and significance (0.034 < 0.05), indicating H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of inquiry learning models internalized by the verses of Al'qur'an influences Islamic character and understanding of students' concepts.

Abstract

This is a research development. The objective of this study is to develop and discover the validity, practicality, and reliability of the science process skills (KPS) test on Acid Base material in class XI SMA/MA. The instrument development process uses the Plomp’s development model which consists of five phases which include: initial investigation, design, realization/construction, test, evaluation and revision, and implementation. The assessment instruments developed consisted of three aspects being assessed, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The trial was conducted at SMA Negeri 14 Gowa on students of class XI IPA 4. Validity is obtained based on the resulting validation value category of 2.4 < Ktg ≤ 3.2 so that the results of a valid science process skill assessment instrument were obtained. Reliability was calculated using the Kuder Richardson-20 formula (KR-20) and categorized based on established standards was obtained at 75%  so that the results of a reliable science process skill assessment instrument were obtained. Practicality was obtained from the analysis of the questionnaire responses of educators who gave very positive responses and based on the category of value generated by ≥ 61% so that the results of a practical science process skill assessment instrument were obtained. Therefore, science process skills assessment instrument developed has fulfilled aspects of validity, reliability, and practicality and can be used to assess students.

Abstract

This study is a research and development that aims to develop electronic modules using Flip PDF Professional on colloid material to improve students' creative thinking skills that are valid, practical, and effective to be used. The development model used refers to the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The electronic module developed using Flip PDF Professional software had been validated by material expert and media expert and had gone through a trial phase to produce a valid, practical, and effective Colloid Chemistry electronic module. The Colloid Chemistry E-module product made with Flip PDF Professional is attractively designed because it contains colloid learning video and animation, and is practical in its use because students can easily access it on their respective androids without having to use additional applications. The subjects in this study were students of grade XI MIPA 3 at UPT SMAN 2 Parepare City. The results show that the Colloid Chemistry electronic module developed using Flip PDF Professional software obtained 88.5% validity by material expert and 86.12% validity percentage by media expert, so the validator criteria for the electronic module obtained as valid. The Colloid Chemistry electronic module developed using Flip PDF Professional software is stated to be practical because the practicality test obtained an average of 3.625 with practical criteria from the results of teacher’s responses and an average of 3.772 from students’ responses with practical criteria. The electronic product of the Colloidal Chemistry module also meets the effectiveness criteria based on the test result of students' creative thinking skills after using the developed colloid chemistry module, where students' creative thinking skills are dominated at level 3, namely creative.

Abstract

This research aims to produce performance assessment and attitudes tools on titrimetric and gravimetric Laboratory which valid, reliable, and practical. Validity based on judgment of expert on performance assessment tools and attitudes that are developed, reliability obtained from Alpha Cronbach coefficient values based SPSS, and practicality is obtained from the value of teachers' questionnaire responses and performance assessment tools developed attitude. This development step consists of five steps: (1) preliminary investigation with excute identify information, analyze information, to limit the problem, and plan continuation activity; (2) design with excute design performance and attitude assessment in form matriks performance and attitude assessment; (3) realization or construction with excute to make first draft; (4) test, evaluation, and revision with excute to judgement of ekspert; and (5) implementation with excute to trials carried out. The instrument which used are classifier for paper validation for measure validity and reability as well as teachers' questionnaire responses for measure practicality. The results showed that the performance assessment and practical attitude on titrimetric and gravimetric meet the criteria of valid, reliable, and practical. Mean valid, reliable, and practical in sequence are 0,965; 0,807; and 64,87 assessments is based on both validator and based on trials carried out at the Department of Industrial Chemistry students SMK-SMTI Makassar.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah diyakini lebih efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran kimia. Pembelajaran konvensional diyakini menjadi salah satu permasalahan kegagalan peserta didik. Hal ini menjadikan peserta didik berperan pasif dalam pembelajaran. Peneliti merumuskan dua pertanyaan penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) Bagaimana gambaran pengembangan strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik? (2) Bagaimana gambaran kualitas strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifannya? Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang terdiri dari identifikasi, perancangan, pengembangan, dan implementasi. Identifkasi kebutuhan pembelajaran dihasilkan berdasarkan pengamatan selama proses pembelajaran untuk membuat prototipe strategi pembelajaran kemudian dilakukan uji coba untuk mendapatkan desain strategi pembelajaran dengan melakukan pretest-posttes di SMAN 3 Bone. Dalam pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan angket, lembar pengamatan dan tes. Angket diberikan 35 peserta didik di tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini divalidasi oleh para ahli yang terkait di bidangnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik SMAN 3 Bone. Para guru dan peserta didik Di SMA 3 Bone menganggap bahwa strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah praktis dan efektif untuk diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran kimia. Kata kunci  : strategi pembelajaran, berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah.  ABSTRACTThe study aims at designing problem-based learning strategy to improve critical thinking skill and problem solving ability of students. Developing problem-based learning strategy is believed to be more effective to be applied in Chemistry learning. The convensional learning is believe to be a problem which creates failure to students. It make studens being passive in leaning. The researcher formulates two research question as follow: (1) How is the description of the development of problem-based learning strategy that able to improve critical thinking skilla and problems solving ability of students? (2)  How is the description of the quality of problem-based learning strategy developid based on validity, practicality, and effectivenes? This study is research and development, which consists of identification, design, development, and implementation. Identification of learning needs is generated based on observation during the learning process to make a prototype learning strategy; then, conduct a trial to get the disign of learning strategies by doing the pretest-posttest at SMAN 3 Bone. In collecting the data, the researcher employs questionnaire, observation sheet, and test. Questionnaires were given to 35 students of academic year 2018/2019. The instrumen used in this study were validated by experts related to their field of studies. The results of the study reveal that the development of problem-based learning strategy can improve critical thinking skill and problem solving ability of s tudents at SMAN 3 Bone. Teachers and students at SMAN 3 Bone considered that the problem-based learning strategy is practical and effective to be applied in Chemistry learning. Keywords: learning strategies, critical thinking, problem solving.

Abstract

This study is development research, which aims at developing Natural Sciences (IPA) learning tools for SMP (junior high school) based on discovery learning oriented on problem solving skills and learning outcomes on acidic-base and salt material which is valid, practical and effective. The development model employed in this study referred to 4D development model, which consisted of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The learning tools developed are RPP, LKPD, BAPD, Media, and THB. The IPA learning tools for SMP based on discovery learning which had been developed was then validated by two experts. After being validated, the test of learning tools based on discovery learning was conducted at SMPN 36 Makassar in grade VII.9 with the total of 32 students. The results of the study reveal that the learning tools based on discovery learning developed which had been validated indicates that the mean score is 3.74 which is in very valid criteria. The learning tools based on discovery learning is stated as practical and effective, because the results of the practically test reveal (1) the implementation of learning tools based on discovery learning is in the average of M = 1.9 in the category of (1.5 ≤ M ≤ 2.0) meaning that the aspects and criteria observed on the implementation of learning tools based on discovery learning is in entirely implemented category, (2) the teacher gave a very positive response on the learning tools based on discovery learning with the percentage of 92.07%, and (3) the students gave a very positive response on the learning tools based on discovery learning with the percentage of 92.77%. The learning tools is also met the criteria of effective with the following results: (1) the improvement of problem solving skills of students from 27.22% becomes 74.50%, (2) the learning outcomes has met effective criteria that the average of the percentage is 83.48% with the classical completeness 87.50%, whereas, the improvement of learning outcomes based on N-gain test is 0.82 with high criteria. Therefore, the results of the study shows that the product of learning tools developed is categorized as valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

This study is a development research that aims to develop E-LKPD based on Problem Solving on acid-base titration material to increase students’ motivation and learning outcomes which is valid, practical, and effective to be used. The development model used refers to Addie development model, which consists of several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The e-LKPD that had been developed had conducted the validation by the validator/expert and trials, it had been revised by the developer to produce a valid, practical, and effective e-LKPD. The results show that the developed e-LKPD: (1) it had validated by the expert of e-LKPD 3.31 with valid criteria. E-LKPD is stated to be practical because the practicality test related to: (1) its implementation in Problem Solving learning model is at an average value of M = 1.91 in the category (1.5 ≤ M ≤ 2.0) which means the aspects and the observed criteria are in fully implemented category; (2) the teacher's response is very positive with a percentage of 100% with very practical criteria; and (3) the students' responses are very positive with a percentage of 92.60% with very practical criteria. E-LKPD also meets the effectiveness criteria with the results: (1) increasing students' learning motivation from 69.84% to 82.73% and (2) the learning outcomes meet the effective criteria with a class completeness percentage of 81.81%.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh video praktikum melalui model pembelajaran inkuiriterhadap pemahaman konsepdan hasil belajar mahasiswa Stikes Mega Rezky Makassarpada materi pokok titrasi asam basa. Desain penelitian Posttest-Only Control Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester II Stikes Mega Rezky Makassar  yang terdiri dari 5 kelas. Penentuan sampel dilakukan secara random kelas dan terpilih kelas A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas B sebagai kelas kontrol. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan memberikan tes hasil belajar dan pemahaman konsep sebanyak 10 soal uraian yang terbagi menjadi 2 kode soal yang telah divalidasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu deskripsi hasil belajar dan pemahaman konsep serta pengujian hipotesis. Hasil penelitian diperoleh deskripsi rata-rata hasil belajar belajar dan pemahaman konsepmahasiswa untuk kelas eksperimen adalah 73,13 dan kelas kontrol adalah 65,75 dengan standar deviasi masing-masing 7,9 dan 6,25. Data persentasi rata-rata indikator pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 68,51 berada dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol persentasi rata-rata indikator pemahaman konsep mahasiswasebesar 57,00 berada dalam kategori sedang. Hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan uji-t pada taraf signifikan, α = 0,05 diperoleh nilai thitung4,29> ttabel 1,666 menunjukkan hipotesis diterima, menyimpulkan bahwaterdapat pengaruh video praktikum melalui model pembelajaran inkuiriterhadap pemahaman konsep dan hasil belajar mahasiswa Stikes Mega Rezky Makassar. Kata Kunci: Inkuiri, Hasil Belajar, Pemahaman Konsep, Video Titrasi Asam Basa  ABSTRACTThe study is quasi experiment which aims at examining the influence of utilizing video for practicum in inquiry learning on conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in Pharmacy Department at Stikes Mega Rezky in Makassar on acid based titration material. The study employed posttest-only control design. The population of the study were all students of the second semester in Pharmacy Department at Stikes Mega Rezky in Makassar which consisted of five classes. The samples were selected randomly and obtained class D as the experiment class and class B as the control class. The data obtained by giving learning test and conceptual understanding with 10 essay tests which divided into 2 codes pf validated tests. Data analysis techniques were the description of learning outcomes and conceptual understanding as well as hypothesis test. The result of the study obtained the description of the average of learning outcomes and conceptual understanding of students in experiment class by 73,47 and the control class by 65,86 with each of deviation standard 8,39 and 5,70 respectively. The percentage data of the average of student conceptual understanding in experiment class is 68,51 which is in high category; whereas, the control class is 57,00 which is in fair category. The result of hypothesis test using One Way ANOVA at the significance level α = 0,05 obtained p value (0,000) < α (0,05) indicated that the hypothesis H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, the conclusion of the study is there is influence of utilizing video for practicum in inquiry learning on conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in Pharmacy Department at Stikes Mega Rezky in Makassar. Keywords: inquiry, learning outcomes, conceptual understanding, acid base titration video

Abstract

This study is research and development, which aims at developing diagnostic test instrument on atomic structure material. The research subjects were the students of grade X MIPA 3 at SMAN 22 Makassar with 34 respondents  consisted of 15 male students and 19 female students. The procedure of instrument development adopted ADDIE development model which covered several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study reveal that the validity of instrument is 1 or V= 100%, meaning that assessment from boths have strong relevancy and the result of SPSS version 23.0 also indicates that the instrument is in valid category. The result on SPSS also obtain Cronbach’s Alfa 0.872 (reliable category); whereas, the objectivity is determined based on the agrrement of both expect which reveal that the result is in objective category. The remedial can be conducted using drill method for calculation question the leaning method uses the media in a form of a video for theoretical questions.

Abstract

Problem based learning is a learning model that can improve students' attitudes. This article aims to review the results of the problem based learning model in improving the scientific attitudes of students in chemistry subjects. Problem based learning is a series of learning activities that emphasize the process of solving a problem faced scientifically. The method of writing in this article uses meta-analysis, by comparing information in the form of the pretest and pottest values in several similar articles. Based on the results of the analysis of several articles collected, the problem based learning model is able to improve scientific attitudes in chemistry subjects. The results of the comparison of the average increase of the 18 articles that were observed obtained a value of 18.27%. The paired sample test results obtained an average pretest of 56.03 while the average posttest of 74.29. Another result of the effect size test is that it is 1.390 in the strong category. The results of this article indicate that problem-based learning can effectively improve students' scientific attitudes in chemistry subjects.
