Abstract

This study aims to explore the motives behind divorce lawsuits filed by women in Sukorejo Village, Bojonegoro Sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency, and to determine whether gender understanding influences such actions. The research uses a qualitative approach with Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory, which emphasizes understanding the subjective meaning of individual social actions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five female informants who had filed for divorce. The findings indicate that there are several motives behind women's decisions to divorce their husbands. The "because motives" include infidelity, economic hardship, ongoing conflicts, and domestic violence. Meanwhile, the "in-order-to motives" include escaping a partner’s betrayal, seeking peace of mind, protection, and a sense of security. This study also found that, based on the interview results, the majority of informants filed for divorce with a limited understanding of gender concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the strategies used by special assistant teachers (GPK) in developing the independent character of students with special needs (PDBK) in the resource class at SMPN 43 Surabaya, as well as the challenges they face. The results are analyzed using Albert Bandura's social learning theory. This is a qualitative study with a phenomenological research design. The research informants were GPK in the resource class at SMPN 43 Surabaya. The findings show that the strategies implemented by GPK to enhance the independent character of PDBK include: (1) habituation in daily activities; (2) development of independence through modeling in the form of vocational skills and self-care; (3) guidance in contextual learning through in-class and out-of-class activities; and (4) collaboration with parents or guardians of students. The challenges faced by GPK involve differences in students' abilities and needs, as well as lack of support from the external environment. Bandura's theory explains that the teacher’s behavior model influences PDBK through four processes: (1) attention, where PDBK observe the teacher's behavior; (2) retention, where PDBK remember the teacher’s behavior; (3) reproduction, where PDBK attempt to imitate the behavior demonstrated by the teacher related to independence; and (4) motivation, where the teacher encourages PDBK to continue developing independence and to repeat observed behavior. These four processes form the foundation for understanding how GPK strategies gradually and sustainably build the independent character of PDBK

Abstract

The Jambangan People's Market (PRJ) is a relocation of street vendors who previously sold their goods around the Al-Akbar Mosque area in Surabaya and is managed by the Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade Cooperative Office. This has led to the establishment of new regulations by business actors, namely the exemption of fees for stall facilities, electricity, water, and security. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of understanding among business operators at the Jambangan People's Market in Surabaya regarding illegal fees in criminal acts. This is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method with data collection techniques involving tests. The research subjects are business operators at the Jambangan People's Market in Surabaya, with a sample size of 196 business operators selected using simple random sampling, based on a 5% margin of error. The research source used a questionnaire consisting of 25 valid test questions with a reliability coefficient of 0.339. The data analysis technique used was quantitative descriptive statistics with percentage calculations. The research results indicate that the level of understanding of business operators at the Jambangan Traditional Market in Surabaya regarding illegal collection practices in criminal acts is overall in the “very good” category, with 106 individuals (54.1%). However, the “very low” category achieved the highest score, with eradication efforts reaching 26%. Thus, this study has a unique finding: high knowledge should trigger effective eradication efforts. However, knowledge alone is insufficient; community participation and integrated policies that support effective results in addressing the issue are also necessary.

Abstract

Community participation is a process and or participation of a community in activities either actively or passively. The community will first see how important or good and bad the activity will be to do or not do a behavior to participate. Community participation will emerge when the community sees the good side of what they see and get. The purpose of this study was to understand or analyze the response and participation of the Nguwok Village community towards the presence of police who accommodate people with mental disorders in Nguwok Village, Modo District, Lamongan Regency. The data collection technique in the study used in-depth interviews. The data analysis technique used Miles and Huberman's analysis which consisted of the stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that community participation would emerge when the community saw the good side of what they saw and got. The response of the Nguwok Village community in supporting the Police to accommodate people with mental disorders used three indicators of attitudes towards behavior, namely defining the understanding of the surrounding community towards the behavior of the Police both accommodating people with mental disorders, conveying protests against behavior because of disturbances and conveying approval of behavior because of benefits. Before the community participates, the community has the intention to participate based on perceived behavioral control where the community feels it is easy to participate in any form, the most important thing is that the community is sincere and does not mind what they want to participate in. With this, the intention to participate arises from the community and with this intention, the behavior of participation arises by the community in the form of thoughts, property, and energy.

Abstract

At this time, frictions that occur between religious communities are often encountered. Therefore, it is important for the Indonesian people to participate in maintaining harmony by taking preventive measures so that various conflicts involving religion do not occur. One form of preventive action is local wisdom in the form of traditions such as the Kirab Dusun Mbah Nolo Tradition which can be found in Sukoharjo Hamlet, Penggaron Village, Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency. The purpose of this study is to describe the tradition of Kirab Dusun Mbah Nolo of the Sukoharjo Hamlet community can build inter-religious harmony. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study design. This research data collection technique uses interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The theoretical foundation in this research is Horace Kallen's Salad Bowl theory. The result of this study is that the organization of the hamlet kirab tradition creates cooperation between religious communities. This is reflected in the process of a series of events of the kirab dusun tradition in Sukoharjo Hamlet such as deliberations on the selection of the committee and its duties and determining the time of tradition implementation. Also, various activities are carried out by cleaning the grave together, preparing a prayer place at the punden, preparing offerings, then praying together with Christian and then Islamic prayers at the grave of Mbah Nolo. This is followed by a speech and a meal together and ends with a cultural parade. The kirab tradition brings together a large kinship from the descendants of Mbah Nolo.
