Abstract

This study aims to investigate students' perception toward the use of question techniques in improving students speaking skills at the tertiary level. Spoken skills and communication may play a very vital role to the students as their future profession might rely heavily on the use of the speaking ability. There are 24 participants in this study and it came from freshmen of English Education major. Based on the findings, it is clear that the students had a positive attitude toward the use of questioning techniques improving their speaking ability. The students perceived that they had an improvement, especially in fluency, accuracy, comprehension, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Moreover, the questioning technique led the students to be more active and participate in the learning activities. Besides, it triggered students to show their self-confidence. In short, it is implied that the more questioning technique is used, the better the students’ spoken ability might be.Keywords: Speaking Skill, question technique, perception, strategy, method

Abstract

This article aims to describe student management in students at Swadhipa Natar High School, and the important role of student management on student achievement. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and interviews. The research subjects selected in this study were vice principals and teachers. Student management occupies a strategic position, because the central education service is focused on students and also plays a role as one of the substances of education management. One of the most important roles for the sustainability of school development and student management is school management.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil kemampuan passing bola dengan menggunakan model latihan passing berpasangan dan model latihan passing dengan tembok pada mahasiswa UKM sepakbola STKIP ROSALIA Lampung dan untuk mengetahui jenis model latihan yang memberikan pengaruh lebih baik dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan passing  pada mahasiswa UKM sepakbola STKIP ROSALIA Lampung.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa UKM sepakbola STKIP ROSALIA Lampung yang berjumlah 32 mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes yaitu tes passing ke tembok.Dari hasil penelitian didapat bahwa rata-rata tes awal passing pada kelompok passing berpasangan adalah 53,8 poin dan kelompok passing dengan tembok adalah 54,1 poin, sedangkan rata-rata tes akhir passing pada kelompok passing berpasangan adalah 85,3 poin dan kelompok passing dengan tembok adalah 87,5 poin. Kemudian tes awal dan tes akhir pada kelompok passing berpasangan diperoleh nilai 40,387 dan kelompok passing dengan tembok diperoleh nilai 71,998. Maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tes awal dan tes akhir hasil keterampilan passing. Dengan kata lain, terdapat peningkatan atau pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil keterampilan passing pada mahasiswa UKM sepakbola STKIP ROSALIA Lampung.

Abstract

Motivation is one of the essential parts of the learning process. Motivation can be interpreted as the students’ desire to learn something because the higher motivation, the better students will be. The purpose of this study is to explore the level of student motivation toward the use of Google classroom in learning English during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMA N 1 Sukoharjo in the academic year 2020/2021. This study also finds out the dominant type, whether intrinsic or extrinsic motivation. This study uses descriptive qualitative, and the technique uses for collecting the data are questionnaires and interviews. The data were presented by using percentage, frequency, mean score, and standard deviation (S.D). The finding of this study showed that the mean score of intrinsic motivation (3.60) was higher than extrinsic motivation (3.43). The mean score of overall motivation is 3.51 was considered a moderate level of motivation. However, the majority of students learn English best because of their intrinsic motivation. Students are interested in learning English and love to take English classes. Students can do the assignments given by the teacher and want to master the English material taught by the teacher. To master English, students have to study hard and practice it in their daily life. So, teachers must be able to provide various teaching strategies to cope with both intrinsically motivated students and extrinsically motivated ones.

Abstract

Mastering English requires the students to have their own strategy. The use of appropriate language learning strategies may help the students to be proficient in English. This research investigates the language learning strategies used by EFL students and their relationship with the Students’ English Proficiency. This study adopted Ex-post facto quantitative research design in which the data were collected from the result of students Language Learning Inventory and also the data of their latest English Proficiency Score. 38 students majoring in English participated in this research. The result of this research shows that metacognitive strategies were the most frequent strategy, followed by cognitive strategy, compensation strategy, memory strategy, affective strategy, and social strategies. Additionally, there is a significant correlation between language learning strategy use and students’ English proficiency.

Abstract

As we know basic movements are simple movements such as walking, running, throwing, jumping. In this study, there were a few difficulties as a result of the covid-19 pandemic that had not ended and made lectures that should be offline become online, for sports education students at the Indonesian Technocrat University it was difficult to study lectures that should have been practiced online, such as small game lectures, for example, the new one. several times face to face. This study aims to determine the effort of motion in baseball games for sports education students at the Indonesian Technocrat University by throwing, catching and hitting the ball, whether the learning outcomes carried out are in accordance with what is expected, therefore the researcher describes the evaluation results obtained from sports education students with a total of 20 people consisting of 16 boys and 4 girls with the results using tables to facilitate the search for average data and the results of learning success in research stage 1 there are 98% results for the average student who can throw the ball then stage 2 is catching the ball there are results of 60% meaning it is quite good and stage 3, namely hitting the ball, there are 26% results. This result is very far from the success of learning outcomes. It can be concluded from the evaluation results that students still have many difficulties when hitting the ball, meaning that the basic motion goals that can be evaluated must emphasize students to be more active in hitting ball exercises and often to evaluate.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterampilan servis panjang bulu tangkis pada anggota klub PB macan tunggal. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif yang dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjabarkan informasi tentang keterampilan servis panjang anggota klub PB macan tunggal. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah anggota klub PB Macan Tunggal yang berjumlah 30 orang, sampel yang diambil menggunakan teknik Total Sampling. Selanjutnya memberikan metode drill servis panjang dengan target net dan drill servis panjang target bidang lapangan yang dilaksanakan dalam sekali pertemuan dan terakhir memberikan tes akhir untuk mengetahui data masing-masing sampel. Data distribusi frekuensi yang didapatkan adalah rata-rata sebesar 52, minimum sebesar 21, dan maximum sebesar. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill sangat efektif diterapkan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterampilan servis panjang bulu tangkis pada anggota club PB macan tunggal.Kata Kunci: Penerapan, Metode Drill, Keterampilan, Servis Panjang.

Abstract

The advancement of technology has given an impact on education, especially in comprehension way. This means in the world of literature, especially reading people get the benefit of improving their capability in terms of comprehension everywhere and anywhere. Comprehension has given the best impact to develop skills like listening, speaking, and reading. The main focus of this will be reading comprehension with the tools of technology advancement. This is leading to a better quality of learning for the people, especially the EFL students and language learners. There are so many media that allow the reader to access the easiest way to gain information or to develop themselves. Especially in the era of 4.0 where technology became the main media for the people to reach. This is important to give an analysis of the effectiveness of electronic media for the readers in this era. Abstract

Crazy Rich Asians (2018), a film by Jon M. Chu is one of many films that raise this topic as the main theme of the story. This film tells about the life of a Chinese American woman, first generation, who was born and grew up in New York, the United States. This research is intended to elaborate how this movie portrays Rachel’s identity as a form of negotiation and why Rachel’s identity becomes problematic only when she met Nick’s family. By conducting descriptive qualitative method, this research uses only some dialogues and narration taken from Crazy Rich Asians film script as the source of data. Since the intention of this research is to analyze the identity negotiation between two cultures, therefore this research is conducted under postcolonial theory. The result of the study shows that although Rachel still hold on the Chinese culture as her ancestor’s culture, it turns out that American values has influenced her a lot in making decision. It leads to her conflict with Nick’s mother since Eleanor hold on Chinese traditional cultures. This research concludes that negotiation showed by Rachel in the movie is needed to do in order to be accepted by both of the cultures although it still leads to some conflict.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat kebugaran jasmani terhadap prestasi belajar penjas tahun 2021 secara ilmiah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung pada tahun 2021. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode korelasi dengan statistik product moment, penelitian ini dilakukan secara obyektif atau apa adanya dengan sampel 24 Siwa kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar hubungan tingkat kebugaran jasmani dengan prestasi belajar penjas siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukan bahwa nilai r hitung sebesar 0,464 0,404 r tabel. Maka dapat disimpulan dari hasil penelitian tersebut bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara tingkat kebugaran jasmani terhadap prestasi belajar penjas siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung.
