Abstract

This study aimed at evaluating the learning process using e-learning and finding the changes in learning patterns in Indonesian university students’ during Covid-19 pandemic. Researcher has found out that students have changed their learning patterns during the Pandemic. Students who are initially accustomed to direct learning inevitably have to learn online to prevent transmission of the coronavirus. If we are aware of the positive side changing the learning paradigm in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more directed at efforts to improve the quality of teachers and students in the learning process.Keywords: Learning patterns, Covid-19 Pandemic.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Samantha as the main character in the Every Last Word novel who suffers Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in the novel. The Writer explain the condition of the main character Samantha who suffers this mental issue. Through Samantha’s daily activities, the author describes the main character got the uncontrolled thought in her life, and she could not handle every details thought in her mind.In this study, the writer uses descriptive qualitative methods to describe the issue inside the novel. This thesis applies psychological approach to describe behavior of the main character that are identified as the symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder in Every last word by Tamara Ireland Stone. This thesis uses Obsessive Compulsive theory. In OCD there are several symptoms, such as: Unpleasant thought, feeling of doubt, inability to control the mind, fear of the bad thought, feeling of worry, thinking about thought really happened and Small think can make worries.This study shows that the main character is clearly shows symptom of person who suffers Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This seen from the daily activities. The main character shows the behavior that categorized as the symptoms of Worries and Pure Obsession Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.Key words : Every Last Word, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Tamara Ireland Stone

Abstract

The principles of Euclidean geometry, established by the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid, still play an important role in many areas of daily life. This article explores various applications of Euclidean geometry, from architectural design to navigation systems and more. In architecture, Euclidean geometry provides the basic principles for building stable and aesthetically pleasing structures, ensuring that buildings are functionally and visually harmonious.Architects and engineers use these principles to create designs that are not only structurally sound, but also space and material efficient. In the field of navigation, Euclidean geometry helps map locations and calculate distances accurately, facilitating efficient travel and transportation.For example, GPS technology uses these geometric principles to provide precise directions, optimize routes, and make travel more comfortable and safe.Additionally, Euclidean geometry is an important part of many everyday tasks and technologies, such as computer graphics, engineering, and robotics. Computer graphics uses the principles of Euclidean geometry to create realistic animations and simulations that enhance the visual experience of video games and movies.In engineering, these principles are important for designing machines and infrastructure that meet precise specifications and safety standards.In robotics, Euclidean geometry helps develop algorithms that allow robots to navigate and interact effectively with their environment. Keywords: Navigation, Graphics, Architecture, Materials, Structural

Abstract

Abstrak Pembentukan karakter dapat diartikan sebagai pendidikan nilai, pendidikan moral, pembentukan karakter, dan pengembangan seluruh warga sekolah untuk mengambil keputusan yang baik, bertanggung jawab, menjaga apa yang baik, dan menjalani keseharian dengan penuh kesadaran, mengarah pada kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas storytelling sebagai metode pendidikan karakter pada siswa sekolah dasar, dengan fokus pada bagaimana guru dapat menggunakan metode storytelling untuk membentuk karakter siswa dan menanamkan nilai-nilai dan perilaku positif. Metodologi yang digunakan yaitu literature review dengan pendekatan sistematis untuk mengumpulkan, mengevaluasi, dan mensintesis pengetahuan yang telah diterbitkan dalam literatur ilmiah terkait topik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa storytelling merupakan metode yang efektif untuk penanaman karakter pada siswa sekolah dasar.Kata Kunci: storytelling; karakter; sekolah dasar.Abstract Character building can be defined as value education, moral education, character building, and the development of all school members to make good decisions, take responsibility, maintain what is good, and live their daily lives with full awareness, leading to good habits. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of storytelling as a method of character education in elementary school students, focusing on how teachers can use the storytelling method to shape student character and instill positive values and behaviors. The methodology used is a literature review with a systematic approach to collect, evaluate and synthesize knowledge that has been published in scientific literature related to the topic. The results showed that storytelling is an effective method for character inculcation in elementary school students.Keywords: storytelling; character; elementary school.

Abstract

This research discusses about The Motivation of the main character .by seeing how she treat the black maids with great courtesy and due respect. in helping the black race, especially the maids in a city called Misssippi. The literary work that will be analyzed is a novel by Kathryn Stockett entitled The Help. Stockett brought an issue about the discrimination of colored people that they’re having in set 1960s. It was written in 2004, with set 20th century when United States still go through the role of racism and discrimination. In early 1960s, the partiality to the black race, they build a strict boundaries between white and black people. As a matter of fact there was rules that differentiate the race, such as black people can’t use the same facilities like bathrooms, drugs, even cinemas. This research applied a descriptive qualitative technique with The Help novel related journals as the primary data. To help investigate the main character’s motivation, this research uses Abraham Maslow’s Motivation Theory, Hierarchy of Needs. There are five hierarchy of needs that could trigger Human’s Motivation, such as: Physiological, Safety, Social (Belongingness and Love), Self Esteem, and Self Actualization Needs. The result of this analysis shows that The Help novel by Kathryn Stockett portrayed that these human needs leads to Skeeter’s motive to write the book and fight against discrimination in her hometown which her motivation is driven by Social Needs, also to fulfill Self Esteem and Self Actualization needs.

Abstract

This study investigates the concept of unit shift in the translation of a Bahasa Indonesia-English short story. The main objective is to identify and examine the different patterns of unit shifts in translation. In order to accomplish this goal, the researchers applied Catford's model of translation shift. Furthermore, the methodology employed for this research was qualitative to offer a comprehensive portrayal and understanding of the studied phenomenon. The data were originated from short stories composed in both Indonesian and English; Clara atawa Wanita Yang Diperkosa. After carefully comparing the translated materials, the researchers classified the data according to the unit shift patterns. These patterns include 1) bound morphemes to free morphemes, 2) free morphemes to bound morphemes, 3) words to phrases, 4) words to clauses, 5) words to sentences, 6) phrases to single words, and 7) phrases to clauses. It was observed that the most common type of shift identified was from single words to phrases. This occurrence could be due to the absence of a corresponding single word in the target language that fully conveys the meaning of the original source language and the translator took into account the aesthetic aspect of the text.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk megetahui ada atau tidak pengaruh metode Latihan ladder drill terhadap peningkatan kelincahan dribbling futsal MAN 1 Tulang Bawang Barat. Peneliti melakukan penelitian di hari senin, rabu dan jumat, dengan metode latihan ladder drill. Berdasar pada hasil uji t bisa dipandang bahwa t hitung lebih besar dari t tabel (361.4411.729) dan nilai signifikan p sebesar (0.000 0.05) hasil ini memastikan bahwa terletak perbedaan yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test kelincahan dribbling futsal MAN 1 Tulang Bawang Barat. Dari data pre-test terletak rata - rata 13.8990 dan ketika post-test rata-rata 12.6855. Dengan begitu pula menunjukkan latihan ladder dril mampu meningkatkan kelincahan dribbling futsal MAN 1 Tulang Bawang Barat. Besarnya pengaruh latihan ladder drill  bisa dilihat berdasarkan perbedaan rata - rata yaitu sebesar 12.135.

Abstract

The analysis combines two stories, The Short Happy Life of Conat by Mochtar Lubis and The Garden Party by Katherine Mansfield. The aim of this analysis is to examine inequality or class distinction and exploitation, and to explore the theme of alienation between the main characters of both stories. Using Marxist theory, this analysis highlights social and economic philosophy and relates it to the main characters, showing how they navigate their economic conditions, whether upper class or lower class. Through a Marxist lens, the study examines how Conat and Laura experience different forms of alienation as a result of their socio-economic conditions. Conat, a trishaw driver, faces alienation from both the product of his labor and the labor process itself, reflecting Karl Marx's theories of alienation in a capitalist society. Laura, on the other hand, experiences a form of alienation from herself, where her family's capitalistic priorities overshadow empathy and human connection. Despite their different contexts and backgrounds, both characters illustrate the pervasive impact of alienation within their respective societies. Keywords: alienation, exploitation, Karx Marx, Marxist theory, social inequality

Abstract

The objective of this study was to know if there is an effect of augmented reality (AR)-supported cooperative learning jigsaw on students' ability to understand concepts. Quantitative design with a single post-test was the method used in this study. The study tool is a descriptive test with 5-item questions and 2-item questions for each indicator. The tool was validated by expert instructors and expert teachers after the tool was validated and then tested on 81 students. Testing this device using a Rasch model, Cronbach's Alpha (kr-20). After the instrument is declared valid and reliable, it is further tested in the experimental class and the control class. Based on data analysis using Cohen's d, The Cohens test showed a significant effect of AR-assisted jigsaw learning on the ability to understand concepts with d = 1.28 meaning very high (ES 1.2). It can be concluded that with AR-supported jigsaw learning, the ability to understand concepts has increased significantly compared to conventional learning.

Abstract

Tujuan melakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Peran dukungan orang tua terhadap prestasi atlet renang klub Almagary palembang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan penelitian  observasi,wawancara dan dokumentasi merupakan teknik pengambilan sampel dari sumber data  dari orang tua dan atlet. Sampel digunakan sebanyak 11 orang, merupakan atlet di Almagary palembang. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini Dari hasil wawancara diatas, dikemukakan bahwa anak memilih peranan mereka sendiri dalam mengikuti renang sebagai acuan mereka dalam meningkatkan prestasi, komunikasi yg dilakukan antar orang tua dan anak juga sangat baik, orang tua mendukung serta memberi arahan kepada anak dalam mengikuti prestasi renang dalam pembinaan Almagary palembang. dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan prestasi dibidang  porprov, o2SN dan tingkat daerah. orang tua adalah pendukung bakat anak dalam menyalurkan bakatnya direnang, baik orang tua serta pelatih sangat memperhatikan anak mereka dengan memberikan dukungan berupa fasilitas lengkap, menjaga pola makan anak sehingga anakpun merasa efek positifnya melalui renang.
