Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari apakah strategi Scaffolding Reading Experience dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa dan untuk mengetahui proses dari pengaplikasian dari strategi Scaffolding Reading Experience dalam mengajar membaca. Untuk mendapatkan hasil dari penelitian ini, terdapat 2 jenis pengumpulan data, diantaranya; quantitatif dan qualitatif. Quantitatif data didapatkan dari hasil pretest dan posttest. Selain itu, qualitatif data didapatkan dari hasil observasi terhadap siswa dan juga guru. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisa menggunakan analisa statistik dan analisa descriptive. Setelah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dilaksanakan, dapat ditemukan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari pretest 30,58 dan posttest 74,44, hal tersebut meningkat 43,85. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil observasi, ditemukan bahwa peninkatan presentase di setiap pertemuan adalah dari 31% sampai 97%. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa menjadi lebih aktif, tertarik dan senang dalam proses pembelajaran membaca di dalam kelas.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the English language learning outcomes of Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Labuhan Haji for the 2021/2022 academic year were still low. In every assessment carried out, whether in practice or daily tests, the majority of Class VII students are still relatively low. The purpose of this research is to find out whether cooperative learning with the Index Card Match Model can improve English learning outcomes in Procedure Text material for Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Labuhan Haji during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Odd Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The type of research carried out is classroom action research (CAR) and is carried out in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This classroom action research was carried out at SMP Negeri 3 Labuhan Haji, which is the researcher's assignment location. This research was carried out using two cycles, with each cycle carrying out a learning process at least 3 meetings including evaluation activities. This research was carried out for approximately three months, namely from September to November 2021.The research subjects were Class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Labuhan Haji for the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 27 students.Based onBased on the results of the analysis and, it can be concluded that the application of learning withIndex Card Match Cooperative Learning Modelcan improve the learning outcomes of Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Labuhan Haji for the 2021/2022 academic year. This can be seen from the average score obtained by students in cycle I of 68.14 and the average score of students in cycle II of 73.70, which means there is an increase in the learning mastery obtained by students in cycle I of 74.07% to 85.18% in cycle II

Abstract

Student learning outcomes at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Lobalain have not reached the minimum passing criteria in English language learning due to inappropriate choice of learning models so that students are less motivated to learn. For this reason, this research was conducted to improve English speaking skills by applying the Bamboo Dancing learning model in class IX UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Lobalain. The results showed that (1) Teacher activity in cycle 1 was 76%, and increased in cycle 2 which was 83%. (2) student activity in cycle 1 was 68%, in cycle 2 it increased to 78% (3) student learning completeness in cycle 1 was 67.7%, and increased in cycle 2 by 87.1%. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the Bamboo Dancing Learning Model is very suitable for use in English language learning and can improve the learning outcomes of students in class IX UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Lobalain

Abstract

Masalah pokok yang diangkat dalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar bahasa Inggris yang dicapai siswa kelas VII SMPN  1 Kayangan pada aspek berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN  1 Kayangan pada kelas VII Semester Genap tahun pelajaran 2021/2022 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus, tiap siklus dalam penelitian meliputi empat langkah yaitu (1) perencanaan (planning), (2) pelaksanaan (acting), (3) observasi (observing), (4) refleksi (reflecting). Hasil Penelitian yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Hasil pada siklus I nilai rata-rata 79, 2) Ketuntasan Belajar pada siklus I adalah 78%, 3) Hasil pada siklus II nilai rata-rata 79, dan 4) Ketuntasan Belajar pada siklus II adalah 100%. Berdasarkan data penelitian dan pembahasan dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning pada mata pelajaran bahasa inggris dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII Semester Genap SMPN  1 Kayangan tahun pelajaran 2021/2022.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is essential to support the four language skills and determine a student's communication success after grammatical competence. Lexical competence is assumed to be second only to grammar. One alternative in vocabulary teaching is Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK). This classroom action research (CAR) aims to apply VAK because of students' difficulties in memorizing new vocabulary, especially abstract nouns. The CAR procedure consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Each stage has activities to achieve research objectives. The subject of this study was an Seventh Grade student of SMPN Haliulun. There are vocabulary tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets as research instruments. Then, the data is analyzed using both quantitatively and qualitatively. Findings from the vocabulary test showed that 20 out of 24 students passed the minimum sedentary criteria or the average score fell on 77. It turns out that students participate actively, pay good attention to the material and show enthusiasm in English classes. It can be concluded that the application of VAK can not only improve students' vocabulary mastery but also class participation. In addition, the results of current research prove that the application of VAK as an alternative to teaching can lead students in memorizing abstract vocabulary.

In addition, the results of current research prove that the application of VAK as an alternative to teaching can lead students in memorizing abstract vocabulary

Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris pada siswa kelas I SMP IT Jamaludin Bagek Nyaka Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis persentase. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I SMP IT Jamaludin Bagek Nyaka, yang terdiri dari 30 siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan angket, berdasarkan hasil analisis data skor persentase kepercayaan diri siswa yang dilakukan pada tahap pertama (siklus I) adalah, terdapat 5 siswa mendapat kepercayaan diri tinggi dengan persentase (20,83%), dan ini menunjukkan siswa percaya diri rendah, dibandingkan peneliti melakukan siklus II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor kepercayaan diri siswa adalah 25 siswa (79,16%). Sehingga para siswa mampu meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Instrumen kedua dianalisis nilai lembar observasi, diindikasikan bahwa hasil lembar observasi dari kepercayaan diri siswa positif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa dengan metode mix-pair-share dan bagaimana proses penerapan mix-pair-share pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Wewewa Timur tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat fase: perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 6 Wewewa Timur. Dalam mengumpulkan data, penelitian menggunakan catatan lapangan, dan tes. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat dikatakan bahwa menggunakan metode mix-pair-share dalam mengajar berbicara berhasil karena kriteria keberhasilan tercapai. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada pre-test adalah 54,3 sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada siklus I adalah 60,6 dan nilai rata-rata pada siklus II adalah 66,6. Kriteria keberhasilan tindakan adalah 75% siswa dapat mencapai target skor kriteria tingkat penguasaan minimal atau KKM pelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah 65 (enam puluh lima). Hal ini dapat dilihat dari partisipasi mereka di kelas, partisipasi mereka dalam percakapan, dan kinerja mereka dalam pasangan. Ketiga, terkait hasil angket, terbukti respon siswa terhadap profesionalisme guru dan minat mereka belajar berbicara dengan metode mix-pair-share adalah 100% yang berarti termasuk dalam kategori sangat kuat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa menyukai metode mix-pair-share. Selain itu, mereka mengakui bahwa kemampuan berbicara mereka meningkat.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process is the main key to the success of the education system. Direct interaction between teachers and students is very essential to be prepared in an organized and structured manner. Apart from the national curriculum as a guide for making learning plans, developing learning components including teaching media is also important. This research aims to 1) find out whether visual media can improve the English vocabulary of students at SMP Negeri 4 Wolowaru. 2) Find out the extent of the effectiveness of learning in the classroom when teachers teach English using visual media. 3) Describe the advantages and disadvantages of using visual media in Class VII English learning at SMP Negeri 4 Wolowaru. This research is classroom action research applied to Class VII students at SMP Negeri 4 Wolowaru, which consists of 30 students. Before carrying out the research, the researcher gave a pre-test to find out the extent of the vocabulary possessed by the students. The pre-test results show that the average student score is 68.27. Meanwhile, the Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC) for English is 75. After that, the researcher collaborated with the English teacher at SMP Negeri 4 Wolowaru to carry out cycle I using visual media. The average score of students after receiving visual teaching increased to 76.97. Thus, researchers still need to continue in cycle 2 to further optimize the increase in students' vocabulary acquisition using English visuals. In cycle 2, the researcher gave an evaluation of the vocabulary measurement test and the average score was 85.10. In explaining, teachers find it easy by using pictures. Apart from that, students are also very enthusiastic and active in the learning process. Based on observations, English learning activities become more interesting using pictures and drawings can also increase students' vocabulary.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine that the Shared Reading learning model can Enhance the cognitive learning outcomes of grade VII students in reading comprehension at SMPN 3 Wewewa Timur. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instruments used are student tests, student activities, and teachers using observation sheets, at the end of each cycle. The results showed that the application of the Shared Reading learning model can Enhance students' cognitive competence. The percentage of students' classical achievement in cognitive competence increases over time. In the pre-cycle, the percentage is 46% (not enough), in cycle I it is 50% (not enough) and in cycle II it is 92% (very good). Meanwhile, the percentage of student activity also increased. In the pre-cycle, the percentage is 52% (sufficient), in cycle I it is 64% (good) and in cycle II it is 80% (very good). From the findings, it proves that the application of the Shared Reading learning model can Enhance cognitive competence and student activity in grade VII SMPN 3 Wewewa Timur.
