Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan apakah Independent Reading dapat meningkatkan prestasi membaca siswa kelas I SMP Negeri 5 Kodi Utara tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan desain penelitian tindakan kolaboratif dimana subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I SMP Negeri 5 Kodi Utara. Penulis hanya fokus pada penerapan Independent Reading untuk meningkatkan prestasi membaca siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari nilai membaca siswa pretest dan posttest. Kemudian, teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah; tes yang terdiri dari 30 item dengan 4 opsi dan dikategorikan sebagai pilihan ganda. Kemudian diperoleh data kualitatif dari lembar observasi dan angket. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada perkembangan pada prestasi membaca siswa dan peningkatannya. Hal itu bisa dilihat dari skor rata-rata pre-test adalah 65, 95. dan skor rata-rata post-test adalah 83,30. Selain itu, terdapat 9 siswa atau 45% dari 20 siswa yang lulus Kriteria Ketuntansan Minimum (KKM) dalam pre-test. Sementara itu, pada siklus I tercapai 18 siswa atau 90% dari 20 siswa. Kemudian, dari lembar observasi hasil penelitian menunjukkan lebih banyak siswa yang memberikan respon yang baik terhadap kemandirian membaca dalam mengajar membaca. Berdasarkan hasil data persentase dalam kuesioner seperti Sangat Setuju adalah 18,00%, Setuju adalah 15, 60%, Belum memutuskan adalah 4, 35%, Tidak Setuju adalah 1,30%, dan Sangat Tidak Setuju adalah 0,55%. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa prestasi membaca siswa meningkat sangat baik dalam belajar membaca bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian  adalah untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran Reading-Concept Map-Group Investigation (ReMap-GI) yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII dalam pemahaman membaca di SMPN 1 Praya Barat. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes siswa, kegiatan siswa dan guru menggunakan lembar observasi, pada setiap akhir siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran ReMap-GI dapat meningkatkan kompetensi kognitif siswa. Persentase prestasi klasik siswa dalam kompetensi kognitif meningkat dari waktu ke waktu. Pada pra-siklus, persentasenya adalah 46% (tidak cukup), pada siklus I adalah 50% (tidak cukup) dan pada siklus II adalah 92% (sangat baik). Sementara itu, persentase Aktivitas siswa juga meningkat. Pada pra-siklus, persentasenya adalah 52% (cukup), pada siklus I adalah 64% (baik) dan pada siklus II adalah 80% (sangat baik).  Dari hasil temuan, membuktikan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran ReMap-GI dapat meningkatkan kompetensi kognitif dan aktivitas siswa di kelas VII SMPN 1 Praya Barat.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the implementation of vocabulary self-collection strategy in improving students’ vocabulary mastery. The research design used Classroom Action Research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this research was students of VIII A class of SMPN 4 Selong in academic year 2021/2022 with total number of the subject 25 students. The research used multiple choice test as the instrument of the research. The data collecting procedure used four steps such; planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data analysis used minimum criteria with standard score 75 by taking classical completeness analysis. Based on the data analysis of the research analysis was gotten the score of the students’ improvement from first to the second cycles with the average score 75 to 93,2. Therefore, it took conclusion that there was improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery by using Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy

Abstract

Writing is one of the language skills that is often felt to be a problem for students in the English learning process. This can be seen from the results of students' learning about expressing meaning in rhetorical steps in simple short essays using a variety of written language accurately, fluently and acceptably to interact in the context of everyday life in procedural texts in semester 2 as many as 60% of students are still under KKM (minimum completeness criteria). This problem really attracted the attention of the author to try to explain the topic of analysis of students' ability to write text in the form of procedures using the make a match learning method. This classroom action research was carried out in Class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Pantai Baru with a total of 29 students. The aim to be achieved in this research is to improve students' ability to compose procedure texts, develop learning strategies and learning methods that are effective, efficient and enjoyable. Students can involve themselves actively in communication activities by expressing their ideas, opinions and feelings simply both orally and written. The technique used in this research is conducting observations and giving students performance tests in the form of written tests. From the research that has been carried out, the results of observations indicate that 19 out of 29 students (70.73%) appear active in the learning process. Only 1 student (0.22%) scored students from the written test evaluation who still did not reach the KKM (minimum completeness criteria). The students' post test scores in the form of individual evaluations via the Student Worksheet show that 3 students (0.07%) got a C 'good' score, 17 students (0.41%) got a D 'fair' score, 20 students (0.49% ) received an E 'poor' grade. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the research objectives that had been implemented were successful. In other words, implementing learning actions through the Make a Match learning method can improve students' ability to write procedural texts and increase student activity in the learning process

Abstract

Masalah utama yang diangkat dalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar bahasa Inggris yang dicapai oleh siswa kelas VIII SMPN Satap Wolomapa dalam aspek berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN Satap Wolomapa pada kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2021/2022 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 15 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing siklus dalam penelitian meliputi empat langkah, yaitu (1) perencanaan, (2) implementasi (bertindak), (3) pengamatan (mengamati), (4) refleksi (merefleksikan). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Hasil pada siklus I memiliki nilai rata-rata 79, 2) Ketuntasan Belajar pada siklus I sebesar 78%, 3) Hasil pada siklus II memiliki nilai rata-rata 79, dan 4) Ketuntasan Belajar pada siklus II sebesar 100%. Berdasarkan data penelitian dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model Fan-N-Pick pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kelas.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe and examine the forms of modern poetry in the poetry collection Four Collections of Poems by W. S Rendra. This research is of qualitative type. The method used in this research uses descriptive analysis and literature study methods. Research data sources are primary and secondary. Primary data comes from the book EKS poetry collection by W.S Rendra which was published by the publisher Burungmerak Press in 2010. Secondary data comes from books and research journals that are relevant to this research. This research data is in the form of phrases and sentences. The data collection technique in this research uses documentation techniques, including critical and comprehensive reading activities, recording and processing data. The data analysis technique for this research uses qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research are that in the EKS poetry collection by W.S Rendra there are various forms of modern poetry based on the number of lines, including distikon, terzina, quatrines, kuin, sextet, septima, stanza. Of the seven forms of modern poetry based on the number of lines, only the sonnet form is not found in the EKS poetry collection by W.S Rendra.

Abstract

The main problem raised in this Classroom Action Research is the low English Learning outcomes achieved by grade VII students of Satap 1 Lingsar Elementary School in Speaking Skill in English. This research was carried out at SD-SMP Satap 1 Lingsar in grade VII of the 2022/2023 school year with a total of 36 students. This research is carried out in two cycles, each cycle in research includes four steps, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation (acting), (3) observation (observing), (4) reflection (reflecting). The results obtained in this study are: 1) Results in cycle I have an average value of 79, 2) Learning Completeness in cycle I of 78%, 3) Results in cycle II have an average value of 79, and 4) Learning Completeness in cycle II of 100%. Based on research data and discussion, it can be concluded that by applying the Find Someone Who Learning model to English subjects can Enhance classroom Learning outcomes

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the impact of the Round Table method on improving students' speaking skills at SMPN 3 Kopang. In this research, researcher used Classroom Action Research by Kemmis and MC Taggart as the research design. This research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection was carried out by observation and tests. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The research results show that the application of the Round Table Method can improve students' speaking abilities. This is proven by student achievement through the Minimum Completion Criteria (MMC) (70) with a success indicator (70%) in cycle 2 results where 95% of students achieved a score of 70 or higher, while only 5% scored below 70. The highest post-test score was 92, and the lowest was 60, with an average score of 80.32. The percentage increase in students from post-test cycle 1 to cycle 2 was 33%. Not only students' grades, this learning method also improves students' attitudes/activities at every meeting during the learning process. Thus, it can be concluded that the Round Table Method can improve the speaking skills of seventh grade students at SMPN 3 Kopang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan flash card untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa tunarungu kelas VIII/B SLB Negeri 1 Lombok Barat  Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Dalam pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan teknik observasi,tes dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus yang diawali dengan studi pendahuluan. Selama penelitian berlangsung peneliti menemukan bahwa pada pra siklus, tingkat kemampuan penguasaan kosakata siswa masih rendah yaitu 51.25%  dalam rentang 40%- 55%. Pada siklus I setelah siswa diberi tindakan dengan penggunaan flash card, tingkat kemampuan siswa meningkat menjadi 59,9% dan masuk pada kriteria sedang (56%-75%).Pada siklus II setelah siswa diberi tindakan berdasarkan pengamatan pada siklus I kemampuan penguasaan kosakata siswa meningkat menjadi 81,3 % sehingga masuk dalam kriteria tinggi (76%-100%). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan flash card dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dan meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata.

Abstract

The research aimed to improve students reading comprehension by using direct instruction at second grade students VII.C class of SMPN 5 Pujut in academic year 2021/2022. The research was classroom action research (CAR) with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research used four steps namely planning, acting, observing dan reflecting. The subject of the research was students at second grade of VII.C class of SMPN 5 Pujut with total number of the subject 22 students. The instrument used of the research was multiple-choice test with total number of the item 25. The data analyzed used qualitative and quantitative approaches. Based on the data analysis was gotten that the average score of  in the first cycle 74,5 with classical completeness 50% and in the second cycle the average score of the students 87,5 with classical compactness 100%. Therefore, it took conclusion that there was improvement of the students reading comprehension trough direct instruction at second grade of VII.C class of SMPN 5 Pujut
