Abstract

Abstract

This research was conducted in the clove plantation area in Ariate Village, Huamual District, West Seram Regency. The research took place from September 12 to October 12, 2020, with the aim of identifying weed communities in the immature and productive stages of clove plants. This study used the weed survey method to collect data by direct survey in the field. In conducting vegetation analysis, the purposive quadrat method was used, with primary data consisting of weed species and populations, density and biomass (dry weight) in the clove plantation area, the observed block area measuring 1 x 1 m with a total of 10 plots . As for secondary data in the form of general data of the region (general condition of the location) and climatic data for the last 5 years, as a comparison material, in the form of parameters measured directly in the field such as soil pH, soil moisture, and temperature, at the TBM and TM stages. The results of the study found that in the clove planting area in Ariate Village, 25 types of weeds were found in the immature plant stage and 27 types of weeds in the mature plant stage and Clidemia hirta weed was the dominant weed in both plant stages so that weed control advice at both different plant stages is the same, namely by using integrated control.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago with sea waters covering 77% of its territory. So of course this requires a shared awareness in strengthening maritime resilience, one of which is through understanding history. The method used is a literature study. This research found that one of the oldest historical primary sources in Indonesia, the Kedukan Bukit inscription from Sriwijaya in the 7th century AD, has recorded a river expedition carrying foot soldiers (infantry) as monitors to ensure the safety of the group traveling down the river by boat, from the dangers of enemy ambushes around the river flow, as well as the possibility of serving as technicians in repairing ship damage. Although it still requires further research, this interpretation can also be interpreted as a prototype of successful transportation safety to be applied in minimizing the occurrence of accidents, one of which is the rampant fall of planes into the ocean. Another meaning is to build readiness to prevent bad influences coming from outside, such as disease outbreaks (pandemics), drug smuggling, or the spread of destructive ideologies.

Abstract

Vaname shrimp (Litopeanus vannamei), known as white shrimp, is an introduced species from the waters of Central America and countries in Central and South America such as Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Brazil and Mexico that has not been cultured in Indonesia for a long time. In recent years, the main contributing commodity to the aquaculture sector in Indonesia is white shrimp. Vaname shrimp was officially released in 2001 and since then the role of vaname is very real to replace the tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) agro-industry which is the original Indonesian shrimp that has decreased and failed production due to technical and non-technical factors. This research was conducted in the vaname shrimp farming pond of Muhammadiyah University of North Maluku, located in Dowora Village, Tidore Islands City in April-June 2023. The amount of feed given must be in accordance with the needs of shrimp in the pond, so as not to experience a lack of feed or excess feed. Shrimp need a lot of protein in its growth, generally the protein needed by shrimp in a higher percentage compared to other animals. Protein is the nutrient that plays the most role in shrimp growth. Shrimp need for protein is different for each life stadia.

Abstract

White snapper is one of the coastal fishery products in East Halmahera waters with the amount of production seen to increase from 2019-2021 by 250 tons / year to 457 tons / year. This is because white snapper is the main catch of gill net fishing gear when compared to other types of demersal fish. The continuous utilization of demersal fish, especially sea bass, will trigger changes in the stock of fish populations in the waters, so fisheries management is needed. The benefit of this study aims to measure the size structure and utilization rate of sea bass in the waters of Sil Village, East Halmahera Regency. Primary data collection in the form of data on vessels and fishing gear, fishing time, number and length of sea bass was carried out directly in the field during fishing operations. The research data were analyzed to achieve the research objectives, namely the evaluation of population dynamics including growth, mortality, recruitment, exploitation rate and Spawning Potential Ratio (SPR). The results showed that the sea bass (Lates calcarifer) in the waters of Sil Village consisted of 2 age groups with a length range of 5 - 41 cm TL, had a relatively slow growth of sea bass, with a decrease in the population of sea bass dominated by fishing mortality compared to natural mortality and a high exploitation rate of tembang fish with a recruitment process that was not optimal.

Abstract

Salted fish is a food ingredient made from fish meat preserved by salting and drying methods that has a distinctive taste and texture with a shelf life of up to months to years. However, the traditional process of making and selling salted fish still does not pay attention to sanitation and hygiene issues. This study aims to identify Escherichia coli bacteria and determine the total Escherichia coli bacteria in yellowtail salted fish products (Caesio cuning). The benefits of this study can determine whether or not yellowtail salted fish products (Caesio cuning) meet the requirements for pathogenic bacterial contamination according to SNI. Random sampling, the samples used in this study were salted yellowtail fish (Caesio cuning) obtained at the three markets in Ternate City Region. The microbiological test stages of determining Escherichia coli bacteria using (SNI 2332.1: 2015) are in the pre-suspect test and the presumptive test adjusted to the APM Table (Most Likely Number). The data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively, obtained the total results of Escherichia coli bacteria from the three samples, namely <3 APM. The results of this study are in accordance with the requirements of the quality standard of dried salted fish for Escherichia coli bacterial contamination based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 8273-2016) which is <3 APM so that it is feasible and safe for consumption because it does not exceed the predetermined limit.

Abstract

The phenomenon of labor migration, particularly female migrant workers, has become an increasingly relevant issue in the context of globalization and economic dynamics. This study aims to explore the experiences of Indonesian female migrant workers in facing the patriarchal power structures within their families and the socio-economic impacts resulting from their decision to work abroad. Using a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, the research examines the stories of four female migrant workers ; Mrs Fadilah, who works in Taiwan due to the family’s economic limitations ; Mrs Ngatipah, who has worked in Hong Kong for 25 years due to an irresponsible husband ; Mrs. Suadah, who had to migrate because her husband was indifferent to living expenses ; and Mrs Mudrikah, who works in Saudi Arabian after divorcing her husband. The Findings show that although these women face significant challenges in family relationships and social norms, they remain agents of change, bringing positive impact to the family power structure. Gender role change occur due to the tension between traditional roles and their new role as primary breadwinner. Desite cultural and social obstacles, female migrant workers can bring about transformations in gender relations, potentially creating more equitable families. This study emphasizes the importance of gender-sensitive public policies to support female migrant workers and raise public awareness of their contributions to the economy and social change.
