Abstract

Character education serves as a fundamental foundation in shaping a nation’s high-quality character without neglecting essential social values such as tolerance, solidarity, mutual cooperation, helpfulness, and respect. Character education fosters outstanding individuals who not only possess strong cognitive abilities but also demonstrate moral integrity and personal qualities that enable them to achieve meaningful success. This study employs a qualitative approach by analyzing secondary data and conducting a comprehensive literature review as the primary method to examine how character education contributes to the formation of superior individuals. The secondary data utilized in this research include official reports, academic publications, and relevant documents related to the research topic. The findings of this study indicate that education, both formal and informal, plays a highly strategic role in developing culture and strengthening character education itself. Therefore, the expected character formation cannot rely solely on schools but must also be nurtured within family life and the broader community. Through an integrated character education system implemented across these domains, future Indonesian generations can develop into outstanding individuals shaped by strong moral values and holistic educational processes

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the facilities and infrastructure at SD Inpres Kalabahi Tengah. The study aims to evaluate the quality, management, and effectiveness of the school’s facilities in supporting educational activities. The results indicate that the planning of facilities and infrastructure at SD Inpres VI Central Kalabahi is relatively good, reflecting a well-thought-out strategy to meet students’ learning needs. However, the procurement process of these facilities and infrastructure still requires significant improvements to ensure that all necessary resources are available and maintained adequately. Furthermore, the study reveals that the management and utilization of the school’s facilities are not yet optimal, which affects the overall effectiveness of learning processes. Inefficiencies in maintenance, allocation, and supervision were identified as key challenges that need to be addressed. Based on these findings, the research provides practical recommendations for enhancing the quality of school facilities and infrastructure. These recommendations include systematic planning, regular evaluation, proper maintenance, and allocation of resources to ensure that facilities fully support effective and efficient learning activities. Improving these aspects is expected to create a more conducive learning environment, increase student engagement, and support teachers in delivering quality education. This study contributes valuable insights for school administrators, educational policymakers, and stakeholders in planning and managing educational facilities to achieve better academic outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to improve grade VIII students’ understanding and learning activity in science, particularly the urine formation process at MTs Ja Al-Haq, Bengkulu City. The material includes complex stages—filtration, reabsorption, and secretion—that students often find difficult. Therefore, cooperative learning supported by puzzle media was implemented to create a more engaging and interactive learning environment. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 32 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through concept understanding tests, observation sheets, and interviews. The results showed that the cooperative learning method with puzzle media effectively improved students’ understanding and learning activity. Students became more active in discussions, asked more questions, and expressed their opinions more confidently. Test scores also increased significantly by the end of the second cycle. In conclusion, cooperative learning assisted by puzzle media is an effective alternative to enhance students’ understanding and participation in science learning, especially on the urine formation topic

Abstract

This study aims to describe the plane geometric shapes and identify the ethnomathematical elements embedded in the artistic motifs of the Sumba Cultural House. Ethnomathematics is understood as a bridge connecting mathematical concepts with cultural practices, enabling mathematics to be interpreted in a contextual and meaningful way. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The subject of the study was the Sumba Cultural House located in Kalembu Nga’banga Waitabula, Southwest Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with key informants, and documentation in the form of photographs and visual recordings. The research instruments consisted of interview and observation guidelines designed to identify geometric elements within the carved motifs. The findings revealed that the motifs of the Sumba Cultural House contain various plane geometric shapes, including triangles, isosceles triangles, equilateral triangles, rhombuses, and circles. These shapes were identified in carvings of women’s jewelry (Mamoli and Maraga), life-path carvings, ornaments of traditional musical instruments, and livestock feeding tool carvings. The geometric patterns, arranged symmetrically and repetitively, indicate the presence of systematic mathematical structures developed through intergenerational cultural practices. These results confirm that the Sumba Cultural House embodies strong ethnomathematical elements and holds significant potential as a contextual resource for mathematics learning. The integration of cultural analysis and mathematical concepts also provides opportunities for developing innovative, culturally based instructional media that align with contemporary educational needs
