Abstract

Population density is an essential issue for a country, especially Indonesia, because of its enormous impact on its progress. Demographically and in terms of development aspects, Makassar City is one of the largest cities in Indonesia, with various ethnic groups living. As a service center in the eastern region of Indonesia, Makassar City plays a role in trade and service centers, industrial activities, government activities, freight and passenger transportation service nodes, land, sea, and air, and education and health service centers. This then causes the population growth rate in Makassar City to become uncontrollable and, of course, causes problems in the housing sector. The negative physical aspects that arise require a strategy to solve them. To overcome this, vertical villages can be used to reduce slum settlements and for the need for land for housing in urban areas, especially Makassar City. The design of vertical villages uses a behavioral architectural approach because this approach can respond to human needs and feelings that adapt to the human lifestyle in it. In reality, an architect’s imagination in the design process will produce different results after the process of use or occupancy. For this reason, it is necessary to understand basic human needs and how architectural design relates to human and environmental behavior. The selection of the design location was also based on various criteria or considerations, including being in the city center, an area with a high population density, and an integrated residential area.

Abstract

In the salt industry sector, Jeneponto district, according to Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS)Jeneponto has a land area of 622.66 Ha; the number of business units of 850 with a total workforce of 2,345 people and production results 21,316.00 tons. This is a great potential in the development of production. Salt is found in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi, and has cultural value. including in the form of traditional regional houses. So therefore, the building of the Salt Management Center in Jeneponto will refer to the approach neo-vernacular architecture in terms of philosophy and aesthetics of building forms with an area of 29,300 m2, the design of the Salt Management Center has several building facilities consisting of factory buildings, management offices, mosque, and cafeteria, including parking, a garden, and a field. Component the structure applies a wide spanstructure, namely, from the bottom structure there is tread and sloof foundations; the middle structure consists of walls, columns, and ringbalk. The superstructure applies the roof structure of cremona, or better known as steel pipe frame structure. The choice of form philosophy in traditional houses Jeneponto (Balla Kambara) with a neo-vernacular architectural approach is expected to be an effort to preserve local culture, especially in Jeneponto. On the other hand, in terms of Islamic values, it is expected that Cultural influences will not be separated from regional identity and will always be bound in one unity.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the agricultural products included as Indonesia's superior product. Indonesian coffee is ranked fourth in the world in terms of its production output level. One of the most significant coffee production in South Sulawesi Province is located in Enrekang Regency. Arabica Coffee production in Enrekang Regency can reach above 1000 tons per year. With the existence of this Coffee Processing Center, it is also hoped to encourage economic growth and introduce the quality of the taste of Enrekang coffee beans so that they can become the leading commodity of South Sulawesi Province. By applying the concept of neo-vernacular architecture, it is intended that professionally managed coffee processing centers can prioritize modern management without leaving the local architectural aspects of Massenrempulu or Enrekang. The result of applying the vernacular concept to the processing building is an opening in the shape of the roof of the Enrekang house

Abstract

The diversity of ethnic groups, customs and cultures, as well as natural beauty make Indonesia a country that has a lot of potential for tourist objects and attractions that are second to none compared to any other country in the world. From Sabang to Merauke along the equator from Miangas Island to Rote Island, it is integrated into the administrative area of 34 provinces inhabited by hundreds of ethnic groups. The tourism sector is increasingly strengthened by traditional wealth to its natural beauty. The customary area of the Bulutana Kingdom has great potential for wide-open tourism development. Institutions and indigenous peoples who still exist are the main factors in developing the Bulutana Traditional Tourism Area as an established traditional environment. The design of the Indigenous Tourism Area uses a vernacular architectural approach, a vernacular architectural approach is used in the design because it can create harmony with the existing area both in terms of technique and the use of local materials. Additionally responsive to climate, site, and environment. It is hoped that the atmosphere of the past can be revived in the Bulutana Kingdom Traditional Tourism Area. So that it can become an area that is visited not only with the aim of taking a vacation but can add knowledge about culture and customs that have been lost.

Abstract

Abstract_ The Music Training Center is a place that accommodates all activities related to one's expression in music, which accommodates teaching and learning activities about rhythms, songs, and features produced by the human voice or musical instruments that can make sounds. Several types of music known in Makassar will be implemented at the Music Training Center, namely traditional and modern music. The purpose of this writing is to design a Music Training Center using the concept of organic architecture with Frank Lloyd Wright's principles, namely Building as nature, Continuous present, Form Follows Flow, Of the people, and Of the materials which are located on Jalan Tanjung Bunga, Makassar City. The discussion method begins with data collection, processing through analysis and data synthesis, and then processing into a design concept. Collecting data using a qualitative descriptive method. The design results include applying organic architecture to the form and appearance of building facades and interiors and using several physical attributes of the environment so that buildings can appreciate nature more, blend with nature, and be in harmony with their environment.

Abstract

Abstract_ Population density in Bantaeng Regency has grown over ten years. One solution to address the issue of the need for settlements in urban centers will greatly help Low-Income Communities (MBR) because jobs are not yet established or are still in contract status where they are still allowed to move from place to place or work. On the other hand, extreme climate change, which always changes every time, can cause problems with the environmental conditions where you live, especially the climate in the Bantaeng Regency area. This research aims to design rental flats in Bantaeng Regency by applying the Bioclimatic concept. The research method used was a survey, collecting primary data by means of field surveys/observations and interviews. Secondary data collection is collected from literature studies, journals or scientific works related to titles, books, reading materials related to titles, and other literature. Exploratory data in the form of the results of analysis of primary data and secondary data. The planning of rental flats in Bantaeng Regency is expected so that the building can respond to the surrounding climate and the occupants are comfortable living in the building by adopting bioclimatic architecture.

Abstract_ The growth of the Tahfidz Qur'an Islamic boarding school in Sidenreng Rappang Regency is quite significant, in line with the increasing interest of the community to lead their children to become memorizers of the Al-Qur'an. Therefore, it is necessary to design a tahfidz Qur'an Islamic boarding school with a behavioral architectural approach that considers behavioral and environmental factors in designing to accommodate the psychological conditions of students, so that their learning process is more comfortable and smooth. As for the application of architectural behavior in design in terms of (color, materials and lighting) the use of color in each room can affect the psychology of each individual student, temperature and lighting can have a negative effect if they exceed the standard. The main activity of the tahfidz boarding school is studying and memorizing the Al-Qur'an. Various learning methods are applied by students to memorize. The results of the study The supporting facilities in the students' learning process include outdoor classes, parks, parking areas and sports facilities. Not all students feel comfortable studying in formal classes, so there are many outdoor classes spread around the park and dormitory.
