Abstract

This paper explores the tolerance in the modern era. Tolerance is an important component in building a plural society aiming at living together without being distinguished from each other. Conversely, the lack of tolerance has the potential to threaten the unity especially in the context of the nation, like Indonesia. The awareness of diversity in thinking and acting will add harmonious life and tolerance, such as the Murji'ah group. This research used qualitative methods that are library research by using Islamic literature as the main reference. Therefore, it can be said that the difference in the world of Islamic thought has long been developed. It is in line with the teachings offered by the Murji'ah group. Although in its development this group is divided into two major groups namely the moderates (Mutawasith) and extreme (Mutasaddid). Since the Murji'ah no longer grew as a dynamic stream, but turned into a passive group. Nevertheless, the original character remains visible that is a tolerant attitude.

Abstract

Perayaan Yaqowiyyu di desa Jatinom sudah menjadi ritualyang dilaksanakan setiap hari Jum’at minggu kedua dibulan Safar penanggalan Jawa. Ritual tersebut berlangsunghingga saat ini sebagai ungkapan penghormatan terhadapKi Ageng Gribig berupa menyebar kue apem ke halayakramai yang sudah menunggu di lapangan yang sudahdisediakan. Penelitian ini secara khusus membahas tentangmakna dari semua unsur yang ada dalam ritual tersebut,seperti pengunjung, pedagang, dan masyarakat sekitar desaJatinom. Selain itu juga masuknya modernitas yang tidak bisaterelakkan lagi. Untuk mengetahui bahasan tersebut, makapendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan fungsionalis.Pendekatan fungsionalis mengadaikan bahwa suatumasyarakat dipandang sebagai suatu jaringan kelompokyang bekerjasama secara terorganisasi, yang bekerja dalamsuatu cara yang relatif teratur menurut seperangkat aturandan nilai yang dianut oleh sebagian masyarakat tertentu.Sebuah perilaku atau tindakan sosial bisa dibenarkankarena hal tersebut dalam masyarakat dinilai sebagaifungsional. Makna yang muncul sangat beraneka ragamtergantung harapan dari mereka yang datang di ritual tersebut. Makna keberkahan adalah yang paling dominan.Mereka percaya bahwa dengan mendapatkan kue apemdari lemparan panitia, hajat-hajat yang mereka inginkanakan cepat terkabul. Sebagai contoh, bagi petani berharappanennya akan melimpah dengan menyebarkan apemhasil tangkapan di Yaqowiyyu ke sawah mereka. Begitujuga yang menghendaki adanya jodoh, berhasil dan suksesdalam pekerjaannya, serta usahanya yang lancar. Salah satuyang mereka lakukan dengan apem tersebut menyimpannyadi tempat-tempat yang dianggap bisa aman, seperti lemaridan di bawah tempat tidur. Makna lain didapat oleh parapedagang dadakan, tukang parkir, dan masyarakat sekitarkarena kedatangan keluarga jauh mereka. Dengan adanyaantusiasisme dari kalangan masyarakat, maka pemerintahsetempat mengapresiasi untuk keberlangsungan ataumelanggengkan ritual tersebut. Salah satunya denganmenggandeng perusahaan rokok sebagai sponsor tunggal.Karenanya tidak salah kalau ritual Yaqowiyyu dijadikansebagai wisata religi yang ada di Kabupaten Klaten.Sehingga, unsur-unsur modernitas yang diwakili olehpemerintah dan perusahaan rokok mendukung untukmelestarikan ritual yang dilakukan oleh pendirinyayaitu Ki Ageng Gribig sebagai bentuk kearifan local bagimasyarakat yang mempercayainya.

Abstract

This article aims to illustrate and explain the social media era religious guidance activities for children in the ex-localization of Bandar Lampung. The author uses a qualitative sampling design or the determination of informants is done directly (purposive).This article reveals that religious guidance is needed in shaping and fostering religious life through social media because the intensity of interaction is more dynamic and all parties can be subject to information with a network that is open to everyone. The current level of influence of social media on religious life is important to know. The result is the strengthening of religious and religious services making two policy implications, namely the development of integrative insights between formal and non-formal education and strengthening the insight of the use of devices, smartphones so that the function of religious messages delivered is running optimally

Abstract

Digital Clouds is a communication medium that connects every internet user. Clouds in every variety of forms as a facilitator of individual freedom. This paper is used to express the forms of transparency that are on Facebook social media. With qualitative and qualitative sampling methods, this study examines the digital footprint of Facebook friends in the 2018 political year related to the issue of the Ministry of Religion's 200 Muballigh releases. This study found that the behavior of religious communities in the Facebook era was very central, and had a very close relationship with the development of the present socio-political context. The importance of this study is to present the forms of religious behavior that are widely spread in the social media space such as Facebook.

Abstract

Theology as a branch of knowledge in Islamic studies,it’s still a debate among Muslims.Especially in contemporary times. This article provides a resume of al-Imam al-Alusi's contribution, as commentator, to the theological discussions in his Magnum Opus: Ruhul-Maani. To achieve this, this paper examines his views on several theological issues selected in his attempt to interpret the verses of the Qur'an with the main aim of discovering the quality and suitability of his arguments and their conformity with the basic principles and sources of Islam. This paper aims to share information about its stance and provide clarification if needed. The findings reveal that al-Imam al-Alusi's theological discussion includes the views of the major Islamic sects; Sunnis, Shi'ites, Mu'tazilites, Ash'arites, among others and brought their own opinions. It is also established that theological differences arise from philosophical thought in defense of individual sects. It was also revealed that the divergence did not affect the fundamentals of Islamic theology.

Abstract

It is fashionable nowadays to be democratic; prompted by the desire to portray Islam as a modern ideology and a progressive government system, they have interpreted Islamic political and juridical theory in democratic terms. In short, some people assumed that democracy is the only good government system. But, in few centuries ago, al-Faraby criticized democracy as a bad government system. Al Farabi said democracy is a good system between bad systems, he proposed “the prime city (Madinah al- Fadlilah)” system. The prime city is the post democracy system, giving direction to the people to achieve ‘highest happiness’. But in other hand Al Farabi said that democracy possible to grow up men of excellent, more civilized, more populated, more productive and more perfect. It is also possible to glean from it certain parts of the virtuous city. Thus it may include philosophers, rhetoricians, and poets dealing with all kinds of things. Al Farabi seems to tell us that democracy is the most favourable for the founding of a Virtuous city. Al Farabi never tell us how the virtuous city may arise from the city of pigs; but he tells us how we may glean the various city from democracy. Al Farabi mentioned that democracy is bad system, but he also said that a virtuous city can rise from democracy city. According to me, Al Farabi inconsistent on his theory of democracy and it open to be criticized. This article will explain the Al Farabi’s theory of democracy deeply and criticize it. Abstract

Suspicion of Salafi as  terrorist and extremist organization increased after 9/11. Many studies have found that the Salafi ideology contains an exclusive and harsh doctrine of Wahhabism. This article examines the Salafi madrasas which was initially exclusive, rigid, conservative, and anti-state symbols, then transformed into a formal Islamic school that is modern and professional in management, as well as integrating the national education curriculum with Islamic curriculum (diniyyah/boarding school) as a strategy to gain state recognition. Although it is not carried out in all Islamic educational institutions it manages, the transformation of the Salafi madrasas is intended to remove the suspicions of the people who consider them terrorist and extremist group. Therefore, this article also explains the Salafi typology which is divided into two based on the movement model, namely the Ideological Salafi (Purification) and the Jihadist Salafi. Through the multicultural education approach that was written by Bikhu Parekh, this research suggests the implications of the ideas of salafism that are disseminated to the multicultural Indonesian society. This research finds that the Salafi campaign in Indonesia has not completely failed. Salafi madrasas have succeeded in transforming through curriculum integration which aims to reject public suspicion that they are terrorist organizations, in fact this strategy actually attracts upper-middle class people to send their children to Salafi madrasas.

Abstract

This research focuses on phenomenon about MCA (Muslim Cyber Army) or in another term it is called as media army who has duty to convoy, to filter, even to clarify such issues or information which spread in social media especially in Instagram. The objective of this research is very simple, they are to find and to know what thing that cause the emergence of MCA accounts. The researcher observes almost all groups who name themselves as Islam have Instagram account that work as MCA. The researcher uses Instagram as the object of research. The researcher uses critical discourse analysis method to analyze every Instagram account that have influence in spreading issues or some posts which cause controvertion and conflict. Finally, the researcher finds that accounts that name themselves as MCA start to emergence after the action of caring Islam. It can be found a hypothesis that there is a group that is not satisfied toward the cases that start the action of caring Islam, therefore, it implicates the emergence of movement to get support from society through Instagram media to disperse mission of that group.

Abstract

Misi risalah atau tujuan diutusnya Nabi Muhammad SAW ke dunia yaitu untuk membawa dan menebar rahmat dan kasih sayang kepada alam semesta. Misi risalah kenabian bersifat universal untuk semua manusia, tidak hanya untuk mereka yang beriman, tetapi juga bagi mereka yang tidak beriman. Rahmat dan kasih sayang mencerminkan Islam yang ramah, santun, toleran, dan penuh dengan cinta damai. Islam tidak menebarkan kebencian dan permusuhan. Aksi kekerasan dan anakhis oleh kelompok radikal yang mengatasnamakan pembelaan dan dakwah untuk agama Islam akhir-akhir ini, menunjukkan adanya pemahaman ajaran agama Islam secara tekstual, kaku dan eksklusif. Pemahaman secara tekstual memunculkan doktrin kebenaran sepihak dan hak justifikasi atas kesalahan kelompok lain yang dianggap tidak sepaham. Pemahaman ini semakin mempertajam perbedaan yang menjadi sunnatullah. Berdakwah untuk menyampaikan misi risalah yang dilakukan dengan cara-cara yang baik dan benar, santun, beradab, dan bijaksana, bukan dengan paksaan dan dilakukan dengan cara-cara kekerasan. Dakwah yang sangat baik telah dipraktikkan oleh Rasulullah SAW yang terbukti efektif dan sukses. Semangat untuk meneladani akhlak Nabi Muhammad SAW yang ramah, santun, cinta damai, toleran, dan penuh kasih sayang harus terus diaktuliasaikan dan dikontekstualiasikan dengan semangat zaman sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab seorang muslim baik secara individual maupun sosial.
