Abstract

Puritans Muslim -with a spirit of the Quran and Sunnah- made Islam in the time of Prophet Sawas an authentic and final model. Using a textual approach, they understand Islam rigidly so that all the features of Islam mixed with local locality (non-Arabic) are considered to be viruses and must be sterilized to get pure. In contrast to moderate Muslims, though both of them are in line with the Qur'an and Sunnah, they are not using a textual approach but contextualist or even philosophical. Islam at the time of the Prophet saw was viewed by moderate Muslims as a historic and dialectical Islam with socio-cultural society, because they understand Islam flexibly. With different approaches in the return movement in the Quran and Sunnah, the two Islamic epistemes are different, as seen in the issue of women's position. In the history, Puritan Muslims often use violence in the name of religion to defend and spread its ideology. The above study is based on historical study with descriptive-qualitative approach.

Abstract

This article discusses of circulation processes and dissemination of radicalism ideas at the Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN) Makassar. Thisarticle uses a qualitative research method that seeks to interpret and describe patterns of radicalism infiltration strategies. In order to achieve that goals, the study used survey that has been followed by three hundred and fifty respondents from all faculty of Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN) which took place from January to May 2019. The survey used questioner with multiple choice questions pattern. The results showed that there was a split view and contesting concept among students between accepting Pancasila and the idea of the Islamic state. The very sensitive political issues of political Islam circulated inadequately in UIN Alauddin Makassar. Therefore, the radical ideas will easily infiltrate the minds of students using lip service and manipulation of sensitive Islamic political teachings. The Campus mosque is the most vulnerable area to be used as a platform for spreading radical ideas. The radical forum is usually camouflaged in an ordinary-teaching form, which makes it difficult for students to identify. The case that occurred in UIN Alauddin Makassar could be occurred in other Islamic universities and colleges in Indonesia.

Abstract

Paper ini secara khusus membahas paham pluralisme agama dalam nalar John Hick sebagai respon atas terjadinya berbagai aksi kekerasan bernuansa agama di berbagai negara terutama di Perancis baru-baru ini. Terjadinya kekerasan bernuansa agama tak lepas dari paham keberagamaan yang eksklusif. Maka perlu paridigma baru yang lebih humanis. Paham pluralisme agama bisa sebagai alternatif, meski tetap harus kritis tak menerima begitu saja. Melalui pendekatan filsafat kritis, topik ini dikaji. Simpulannya adalah bahwa Hick telah menawarkan suatu kerangka paradigmatis dalam melihat teologi agama sehingga mendorong terwujudnya dialog antar agama di tengah kemajmukaan. Menurut Hick, semua agama berasal dari the Real. Namun karena tidak adanya akses secara langsung kepada the Real, lahirlah conflicting conception of the Real. Semua persepsi terhadap the Real selalu melalui mediator yaitu tradisi keagmaan yang unik (unique religious tradition) yang disebut sebagai “konsep lensa “ (conceptional lens) sehingga melahirkan pluralitas agama sebagai awal paham pluralisme agama. Secara etik paham pluralisme Hick bisa menumbuhkan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan universal untuk saling bekerja-sama menanggulangi penderitaan manusia. Namun secara paradigmatis paham pluralisme Hick tetaplah problematik, karena Hick cenderung rasional murni. Padahal secara ontologis setiap manusia itu bergerak dengan tiga pertimbangan sekaligus yaitu; kualitas baik (potensi rasional), kualitas benar (potensi spiritual), dan kualitas nyaman (potensi emosional). Dalam tiga kualitas itulah mestinya paradigma pluralisme agama perlu dirumuskan ulang agar paham pluralisme yang berkembang lebih komprehensif.

Abstract

Membincang tentang fenomena keberagamaan masyarakat, situasi yang berjalan di tengah-tengah mereka akan senantiasa menjadi titik sorot untuk menjelaskan ihwal kehadiran, dimulai dari tradsi, kebudayaan, etnik, agama, dan realitas kehidupan sosial yang berjalan. Fenomena beragama yang ada di tengah-tengah kehidupan masyarakat akan menjadi bagian penyimpulan yang bisa dikaji, bagaimanakah kondisi nyata keberagamaan masyarakat yang berjalan. Kenyataan keberagamaan yang ada di masyarakat inilah nantinya akan mengisi ruang-ruang persepsi masyarakat akan bukti hakiki makna agama dalam kehidupan mereka.Mengamati dinamika keberagamaan yang berjalan di tengah-tengah kehidupan masyarakat Desa Jepang Mejobo Kudus, penelitian ini terfokus untuk mengkaji fenomena perubahan paradigma masyarakat tentang agama. Berpijak kepada dinamika kehidupan masyarakat yang tergolong abangan, terdapat hal unik yang bisa dieksplorasi mengenai keberagamaan masyarakat Desa Jepang Mejobo Kudus. Beragama di antara mereka masih tampak mengadaptasi dengan kegiatan kebudayaan yang cenderung ambigu dalam hukum agama. Dalam hal ini bisa dijelaskan seperti menyabung ayam, meminum-minuman keras, dan berjudi. Namun, di antara aktivitas ambigu dalam kaca pandang agama tersebut, masyarakat juga aktif untuk melaksanakan kirim doa kepada para leluhur yang sudah meninggal (hajatan) atau juga membaca silsilah Syaikh Abdul Qodir al-Jailani manaqiban.Kehidupan beragama masyarakat Desa Jepang Mejobo Kudus menampakkan adanya perubahan pola keberagamaan. Dimulai dari masifnya kondisi masyarakat yang tergolong abangan, mereka mulai beralih untuk aktif mengisi waktu-waktu luang mereka guna beribadah menjalankan perintah-perintah agama. Aktivitas kebudayaan yang masih banyak dijumpai, seperti menyabung ayam, meminum-minuman keras, dan berjudi, hal tersebut mulai terkikis dengan kegiatan mereka untuk memenuhi tuntutan agama.

Abstract

Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) was officially disbanded in 2017 by the government accordance with Perppuu No.2 of 2017. The ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) did not immediately dissolve their movement, but more massive preaching of Islamic law within the framework of the caliphate in various regions especially on campus. The ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia continue to recruit members by conducting various routine studies of Islam, such as the MALKIS study (Study of Exist Sunday Night) which is routinely carried out by the ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia student community at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The purpose of this research to know and analyze the development and resilience of the ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia student community after was disbanded in the UIN Sunan Ampel campus. This article uses descriptive qualitative research methods to present data and reveal events or facts. The results showed that the resilience of the ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) student community at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya could rise and come out of a stressful after was disbanded.

Abstract

Islamic education generates sufficient intellectual abilities muslim political culture that gave birth to the humanistic-theocentric, humanistic-patriotic, and if they fail to cultivate the intellect will give birth to a political culture that hedonistic-egoistic. Seeing the current political conditions, the reconstruction of political education to strengthen the social contract-religious dimension in Islamic education is very urgent to be held. Repair religious education aims to crystallize the mono-religious experience of being an open attitude that is important to prepare future generations for public order dialogue. Political education requires the democratization of space as a means to build a society of dialogue with the orientation changes in behavior and attitudes, the quality and variety of aspects. Political education is oriented to instill democratic values such as openness, mutual respect, sympathy, empathy, solidarity, and their understanding of pluralism in Indonesia is a pluralistic community life. That the concept of moderation which avoids extremes in the two sides, in order to create al-ummatan wasathan. Order harmonious religious life based on religious values will be realized through dialogue faiths. Inter-religious dialogue as a vehicle find the idea of a progressive and avoid manipulative ways and aggressiveness of religious communities. It should, dialogue functioned as the main way to build mutual understanding religious communities. Routines dialogue conducted by government agencies, social institutions, and religious leaders must be improved. This is because the results of the next dialog will apllicate in religious life, nation, and state in Indonesia.

Abstract

The use of headscarves is not only religious identity but also functions as a statement of the value or social status of a person who has two sides, first, ascribed, second, and can be achieved. The focus of this article is to find out how the description of social identity for veiled women in Ponorogo and its consequences. The results of data analysis using symbolic interactionalism theory show some of the first findings, the pattern of life of religiosity (religiosity) of veiled women and veiled Shar' i tends to lead to religious exclusivism. While medium veiled women tend to lead to pluralist religious inclusive typologies. Second, for veiled and veiled Shar' i women, headscarves are social identities whose dimensions are shaped by "the trust" religious norms and values that must be adhered to and carried out in their community. While for medium veiled women, headscarves are social identities based on religious norms without having to deny the truth of religious teachings held by other groups in the context of social relations and community relations.

Abstract

This paper describes the phenomenon of using social media as a means of religious development in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The social media access that by Islamic Religious Counselors has not been effective during the COVID-19 period. This paper describes the various obstacles that challenging for Islamic Religious Counselors in carrying out religious development in the Merapi slope community by using social media facilities. We used qualitative approach to collect the data. We did participatory observation, in-depth interviews, discussions and documentation used and then described. The results show that the obstacles encountered in the process of religious development for the Merapi slope community by using social media as a means of religious development during the COVID-19 pandemic are such as limited facilities, lack of ability to access social media and lack of public interest in the media. This situation will be different from other regions with access and supporting facilities, because there are several factors that cause it, such as education, skill and the economy

Abstract

This article explores the relationship between God, man, and nature in the Quran in Toshihiko Izutsu's view. Using semantic analysis, this Japanese scholar used the analytic principle to get the Quran interprets its own concepts and speaks for itself. For that reason, the use of Arabic poetry to understand the basic meaning of an important word and in turn, the relational meaning needs to be presented by knowing the semantic field of the researched dilemma. From a hermeneutic point of view, Izutsu's thought shows parallels with the Muslim scholar's interpretation of the theme. By looking at the relationship between God and man in the four skeletons, ontologies, masters, ethics, and communicative, Izutsu asserts that the holy book of the Quran is not only ethical but also practice.
