PEMAKNAAN KRITERIA KESAHIHAHAN HADIS MUḤAMMAD NÂṢIR AL-DÎN AL-ALBÂNÎ DAN IMPLEMENTASINYA DALAM PENILAIAN HADIS Farida, Umma

Abstract

This article aims to examine the theoretical framework of Muḥammad Nâṣir al-Dîn al-Albânî on ḥadîth. It has been known that sometimes al-Albânî explicitly put some ḥadîths into unsound classification, whereas some major ḥadîth scholars put the ḥadîth in valid and authentic condition. Through studying his book entitled Silsilat al-Aḥâdîth al-Ṣaḥîḥah and some other books, this articel finds that although in some cases his conclusion is quite different from other ḥadîth scholars, he is still standing on the previous principles to determine the validity of ḥadîth such like: chain continuity (ittiṣâl al-sanad), fair narrators (‘âdil) and having good intellectuality (ḍâbiṭ), safe from berration (shudhûdh) and trouble (‘illat), but at some points, he has made his own differentiation in defining those principals. Besides, al-Albânî has also given special attention to the validity of matn (the content of ḥadîth), that the matn should not be contrary with the Qur’ân, sunnah Ṣaḥîḥah (the valid tradition), logical reasoning, historical facts, sciences, and the practice of previous piety (salaf al-Ṣâliḥ).

Abstract

Abstract: It is interesting to study al-A‘ẓamī’s effort in proving the authenticity of hadiths scientifically through the thoughts in his works and his contribution in the study of hadith. Therefore, this study aimed to examine further al-A‘ẓamī’s thoughts and contributions given in the study of hadith, as well as the defense of the critique of the islamicist and muslim thinkers. This study was a research library with a qualitative approach, whereas the method of data collection used was the method of documentation, then the data was analyzed descriptively and critically. The results of this study found that the contributions made by al-A‘ẓamī in the study of hadith are: (1) to show the evidence that the writing of hadith had been made since the time of the Prophet. It was proven by the existence of at least 52 friends who had the documentation of the hadith texts, as well as to clarify and add at least 21 names of friends who had been the secretaries of the Prophet of Allah and had never been revealed by the previous hadith scholar. (2) to describe the 20 arguments showing that the term samā‘ and taḥdīṡ that were not only used for verbal delivery but also for dictating, receiving, and teaching the hadith in written medium. (3) to proove the validity of the isnād through his study of three hadith narrated by hundreds of people in many different areas, (4) to strengthen and develop the ideas of the muḥaddiṡīn through systematic steps to test the hadith critique, including research on the character of the narrators, cross comparison or mu‘āraḍah, and critique of reason. Abstrak: Studi ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan pemikiran dan kontribusi al-A‘ẓamī dalam studi hadis, serta pertahanan dari kritik yang berasal dari Islamis dan pemikir Muslim. Studi juga merupakan riset kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, sedangkan metode koleksi data yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi, selanjutnya data tersebut dianalisis secara deskriptip dan kritis. Hasil dari studi ini menemukan bahwa kontribusi yang dilakukan oleh al-A‘ẓami dalam studi hadis adalah: (1) untuk menunjukkan bukti bahwa penulisan hadis dilakukan sejak masa Nabi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan keberadaan sedikitnya 52 sahabat yang mempunyai dokumentasi teks-teks hadis, dan juga untuk mengklarifikasi dan menambahkan sedikitnya 21 nama yang menjadi sekretaris Nabi Allah dan tidak pernah dimunculkan oleh para ulama hadis sebelumnya. (2) untuk menggambarkan 20 argumen yang menunjukkan bahwa istilah samā‘ dan taḥdīṡ tidak hanya digunakan untuk penyampaian verbal tetapi juga untuk mendiktekan, menerima, dan mengajarkan hadis dalam medium tertulis.(3) untuk membuktikan validitas isnād melalui studinya dari tiga hadis yang dinarasikan oleh ratusan orang dalam banyak wilayah yang berbeda. (4) untuk memperkuat dan mengembangkan ide-ide muḥaddiṡīn melalui langkah-langkah sistematis untuk menguji kritik hadis, mencakup penelitian tentang karakter para perawi, perbandingan silang atau mu‘āraḍah, dan kritik nalar. Kata-kata Kunci: Contributions, al-A‘Ẓamī, ḥadīṡ, Islamicist, dan samā‘.

Abstract

This article aims to describe Rebo Wekasan and its various rituals by focusing on the thoughts of KH. Abdul Hamid Kudus have written particularly in his work Kanz al-Najāḥ wa al-Surūr. The data was collected through the documen­tation method and analyzed critically. This study found that Rebo Wekasan ritual is local wisdom combined with Islamic values. The origins of rituals carried out by some Indonesian Muslim people, especially on Java, often refer to the opinion of KH. Abdul Hamid Kudus. His thought is that Allah reveals various kinds of disasters and trials on the last Wednesday of the month of Ṣafar, so that people were advised to perform certain rituals such as sunnah prayers, reading verses of the Qur'an, ṣalawat, and praying. These rituals are indeed practiced in several areas in Java with various modifications of local traditions which are manifested in the form of cultural carnivals, Quranic recitations, and selamatan (local gathering). However, his book is an inseparable from criticism, especially criticisms of sources that are considered less authoritative and critical in terms of the quality of the hadith about Rebo Wekasan.

Abstract

Sunnah is the second sources of law after the Qur’an. The understanding of Sunnah according to muhadditsin has wider scope than that of ushuliyyin. This is understandable due the concern of ushuliyyin is sunnah in its role as a source of Islamic law, while muhadditsin classifies everything that comes from the Prophet PBUH as sunnah, whether or not they have legal consequences. This paper captures the discourse on Sunnah according to ushuliyyin and muhadditsin perspective; starting from the definition of Sunnah, its function and classification, including the dichotomy of tasyri’iyyah and ghayr tasyri’iyyah, as well as the meaning and patterns of interaction with the Sunnah in order to obtain a proper understanding of the Sunnah and draw a law from it.

Abstract

The idea of Umer Chapra in building Muslim civilization was based on his research on the position of Muslims who from time to time more and more felt strange with the civilization and Islamic values itself, even the civilization was gradually increasingly eroded and marginalized by Western culture. He tried to restore the Muslim position which should be done as the Messenger of Allah had pointed out, and their positive role in building civilization. The Islamic civilization has the power that lies in the development of morals and material strength. For Chapra, the moral development without being integrated with the economic development cannot be realized. And at the same time, this economic development must also have a worldview and strategy that is in line with religious objectives (maqashid asy-syari’ah). The development of Muslim civilization requires the transformation of human beings and their institutions, focusing in the increasing of education and personality development, and the simultaneous mobilization of material, economic and technological resources for the rearrangement of community structures over the principles of deliberation and accountability, unity, independence and justice.

Abstract

Menemukan wajah Islam Indonesia selalu menarikuntuk didiskusikan, mengingat prosentasi umat Islamdi Indonesia termasuk ke dalam jumlah umat Islamterbesar di seluruh dunia disamping memiliki pola dankarateristik tersendiri dari wajah Islam Arab. Sehingga wajar jika banyak kalangan yang berkepentingan untukberusaha menguak wajah tersebut. Tulisan ini menjadisuatu ikhtiar untuk memotret wajah Islam Indonesia danpola keberagamaannya, dengan berpijak dari klasifiasiyang dibuat Geertz. Sedangkan untuk menguak potretwajah Islam Indonesia dilakukan dengan melihat prosesdialektika pemeluk ajaran Islam dengan tradisi lokalyang ada.

Abstract

Indonesian Muslims tend to seek religious solutions to face their problems, one of which is by referring to the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI). Considering the position of hadith as a source of teachings in Islam, exploring the existence of hadith in legal formulations and the establishment of fatwas is also important. This research aims to reveal the use and absorption of hadith as a source of Islamic law in the determination of the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulama Council as stated in the MUI Fatwa Association Book since 1975, totalling 173 fatwas, focusing on socio-cultural fatwas of 64 fatwas. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive-critical approach. The research results show that of the 64 fatwas in the social and cultural fields, almost the majority use hadith as a source of law in formulating their fatwas. There are 51 fatwas related to social and cultural fields that use hadith as a source of law, while 13 other fatwas do not involve hadith in their legal sources. The total number of hadiths that are a source of law in the formulation of MUI fatwas in the socio-cultural field is 222 hadiths. Quoting hadiths in the determination of the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) in the Social and Cultural Sector as stated in the MUI Fatwa Association since 1975 generally uses two techniques: First, citing by including the source or narrator who transmitted the hadith from the Prophet PBUH. Second, quoting without mentioning the name of the hadith transmitter. All the hadith referred to by the MUI are of authentic quality and can be verified for their authenticity. [Muslim Indonesia memiliki kecenderungan untuk mencari solusi yang bersifat religius dalam menghadapi problem mereka, salah satunya dengan merujuk pada fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI). Mengingat kedudukan hadis sebagai salah satu sumber ajaran dalam Islam, maka menggali eksistensi hadis dalam formulasi hukum dan penetapan fatwa juga menjadi penting. Penelitian ini bermaksud mengungkap penggunaan dan penyerapan hadis sebagai salah satu sumber hukum Islam dalam penetapan Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia sebagaimana yang tertuang dalam Buku Himpunan Fatwa MUI sejak 1975 yang berjumlah 173 fatwa dengan memfokuskan pada fatwa bidang sosial budaya sebanyak 64 fatwa. Penelitian ini menempuh metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari Dari 64 fatwa bidang sosial dan budaya hampir mayoritas menggunakan hadis sebagai sumber hukum dalam perumusan fatwanya. Terhitung 51 fatwa terkait bidang sosial dan budaya yang menggunakan hadis sebagai salah satu sumber hukum, sedangkan 13 fatwa lainnya tidak melibatkan hadis dalam pengambilan sumber hukumnya. Jumlah keseluruhan hadis yang menjadi sumber hukum dalam perumusan fatwa MUI dalam bidang sosial budaya adalah 222 hadis. Pengutipan hadis dalam penetapan fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Bidang Sosial dan Budaya sebagaimana yang tertuang dalam Himpunan Fatwa MUI sejak 1975 secara umum menempuh dua teknik: Pertama, pengutipan dengan menyertakan sumber atau periwayat yang mentransmisikan hadis tersebut dari Nabi Saw. Kedua, pengutipan tanpa menyebutkan nama transmittor hadis. Keseluruhan hadis yang dirujuk MUI tersebut berkualitas shahih dan dapat dipertanggung jawabkan kehujjahannya.]
