Abstract

Digital readiness and work-life balance are key factors in shaping employee job satisfaction amid the increasing digitalization of work. Although many studies have examined work-life balance, this study fills a gap by integrating digital readiness as a contextual variable in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the effects of digital readiness and work-life balance on employee job satisfaction and to examine the mediating role of work stress. This study employs a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected online via a survey of 105 employees in Bandung City who use digital technology in their work. The results indicate that digital readiness has a significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Similarly, work-life balance significantly affects employee job satisfaction. Meanwhile, work stress did not mediate these relationships. These findings suggest that organizational support, in the form of work-life balance policies and adequate digital facilities, can directly enhance employee job satisfaction without necessarily reducing work stress. Theoretically, these findings reinforce Social Exchange Theory in a digital context. In practice, this study recommends HR policies that leverage digital facilities and promote work-life balance for organizations.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of investment decisions, free cash flow, and asset intensity on financial distress in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2024 period. Using panel data from 141 firms with 564 observations, financial distress is measured by the Altman Z’-Score and analyzed through multiple linear regression employing the Random Effect Model. The results indicate that asset intensity has a significant negative effect on financial distress, while free cash flow has a significant positive effect, whereas investment decisions show no significant effect. These findings highlight the importance of asset utilization efficiency and effective oversight of free cash flow in reducing the risk of financial distress, and they support Agency Theory regarding the role of managerial monitoring in the management of corporate assets and cash. The study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence from a post-pandemic context, where firms face structural adjustments in financial and operational strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of price on impulsive purchasing with social validation as a mediating variable among consumers of Adidas running shoes in Malang City. The increasing trend of running and the dominance of the Adidas brand in the sports shoe market make consumer impulsive purchasing behavior an important phenomenon to study. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 120 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS 3 software. The results show that price has a significant effect on impulsive purchase and social validation. In addition, social validation was also found to have a significant effect on impulsive purchases. Other findings indicate that social validation significantly mediates the effect of price on impulsive purchase. The results of this study indicate that price is not only perceived as economic value, but also as a social signal that can encourage impulsive purchasing behavior among consumers in the context of sports products.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance and compensation on turnover intention, both directly and through job satisfaction as a mediating variable, among Generation Z employees working in coffee shops in Pontianak City. The method used is quantitative, employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The research sample involved 194 respondents, namely students aged 18–26 years who are still actively studying and have at least one year of work experience in a coffee shop, which was selected through the purposive sampling method. The results of the study show that Work-Life Balance has a negative and significant effect on Turnover Intention, both directly and indirectly through Job Satisfaction, as a mediating variable, among Generation Z employees working in coffee shops in the Pontianak City area. Meanwhile, compensation does not have a significant direct effect on Turnover Intention, but it has a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction, which, in turn, reduces Turnover Intention. In addition, Job Satisfaction has been shown to have a negative and significant effect on Turnover Intention and to mediate the relationship between Work-Life Balance and Compensation for Turnover Intention.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social and cultural factors on tourists’ visiting decisions to Kampung Majapahit Tourism Village in Trowulan District, Mojokerto Regency, with travel motivation as a mediating variable. The research object consisted of 156 tourist respondents selected proportionally. A quantitative, descriptive-explanatory approach was applied, using Likert-scale questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that both social and cultural factors have direct and significant effects on visiting decisions and exert indirect effects through travel motivation, which serves as a significant mediator. Travel motivation plays a crucial role in linking external social and cultural influences to tourists’ behavioral decisions. The study concludes that strengthening social interactions, preserving cultural values, and developing motivation-based tourism strategies are essential to enhancing sustainable cultural tourism visits.

Abstract

The performance of government employees plays an essential role in ensuring the delivery of effective, responsive, and accountable public services. In practice, differences in leadership approaches, human resource capacity development, and adherence to work rules often create variations in performance across organizational units. This study seeks to explore how these three factors contribute to the performance of government personnel. A quantitative explanatory design was applied in this study. The research respondents were 124 government officials working in 12 sub-districts in Lowokwaru District, Malang City, selected using census techniques. Data were gathered using structured questionnaires with a Likert scale and processed using multiple regression techniques. The results indicate that leadership practices, human resource development efforts, and work discipline are all positively associated with employee performance. Among them, human resource development emerges as the most influential factor. Collectively, these variables provide a substantial explanation of performance variation, indicating a strong model fit. In summary, enhancing government employees' performance requires a balanced effort to strengthen leadership quality, continuously develop employee competencies, and maintain consistent work discipline.

Abstract

Employees constitute a key strategic asset for organizations, as they play a central role in ensuring sustainability and achieving organizational goals. However, prior studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the effects of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and procedural justice on employee performance, particularly within the context of regional banking, which remains underexplored. This condition indicates a research gap that warrants further empirical investigation across different organizational settings. This study aims to examine the influence of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and procedural justice on employee performance at Bank Majalengka. A quantitative approach was employed using a descriptive and verificative survey method, involving all 124 employees as respondents through a saturated sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to assess the relationships among variables. The results reveal that job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and procedural justice have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. These findings suggest that strengthening psychological factors and ensuring fairness in organizational processes are essential strategies for fostering sustainable, adaptive employee performance.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the virtual try-on feature framed within the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and online customer reviews on consumers' purchase intention toward Maybelline lipstick on Shopee. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 114 active Shopee users in Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and online customer reviews have a positive and significant influence on purchase intention in the context of using the virtual try-on feature on the Shopee platform. Of the three variables examined, online customer reviews were identified as the dominant factor influencing consumers' purchase intention. These findings indicate that integrating augmented reality technology via the virtual try-on feature, supported by a credible customer review system, can reduce consumer uncertainty and enhance consumer confidence when purchasing cosmetic products online. This study provides practical implications for e-commerce platforms and cosmetic companies, particularly in optimizing interactive digital features and strengthening customer review management systems as strategies to enhance consumers' purchase intention in online marketplaces.
