Abstract

The problem of plastic waste management in Pablengan Village is triggered by the lack of a final disposal site (TPA) and the practice of open burning. This community service activity aims to convert plastic waste into paving blocks by mentoring the Karang Taruna (Youth Group) and local village officials as primary partners. Methods used included observation, participatory discussions, and technical production training. The activity results showed an increase in partners’ understanding of waste management from 35% to 85%, based on pre- and post-test results. The training involved 25 participants and resulted in the production of 50 prototype paving blocks utilising approximately 40 kg of plastic waste. This implementation has the potential to sustainably reduce plastic waste in the village while creating new economic opportunities. This program successfully transformed an environmental burden into functional infrastructure materials for the village.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ understanding and competence in compiling accommodative teaching modules (modul ajar akomodatif) at one of the inclusive schools in Banjarbaru city. A preliminary survey identified several problems: limited teacher understanding of inclusive education paradigms, insufficient knowledge in developing accommodative curricula, and an absence of structured training to create teaching modules tailored to students with special needs. The activity was conducted on June 6, 2024, using a training method that included lectures and a workshop, involving 25 teachers from schools within the same school cluster. Pre- and post-test assessments were administered to measure knowledge improvement. Results showed a significant increase in average scores from 60.4 (pre-test) to 82.4 (post-test). Post-activity evaluation indicated that participants were highly satisfied with the training content, delivery, and relevance to their professional needs. Teachers were also able to independently produce accommodative teaching modules aligned with the specific needs of students with special needs in their respective schools. This training demonstrates that structured professional development programs are effective in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence in inclusive education settings.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological process that leads to various changes in a woman’s body, including physical, psychological, and social adjustments. During this period, the body requires increased nutritional intake to support maternal health and fetal development. One of the essential nutrients is iron, which plays a crucial role in the formation of red blood cells, ensures adequate oxygen transport, supports fetal growth, and prepares the mother for potential blood loss during childbirth. Pregnant women are at risk of developing anemia if their iron requirements are not adequately met. Anemia is a condition that can negatively affect maternal health and increase the risk of complications such as preterm birth and low birth weight. This activity aimed to provide education on the importance of a balanced, nutritious diet to prevent anemia during pregnancy. Data collection revealed that 38 pregnant women with anemia resided in Sungai Bangkong Village, of whom 11 participated in the educational session held at Alianyang Public Health Center on January 28, 2026. The program included pretest and posttest assessments, delivery of material through lectures and discussions, and demonstrations of nutritious meal preparation. The T-test results indicated a significant increase in knowledge.

Abstract

The global ecological crisis has become one of the most pressing challenges facing contemporary societies, including religious communities. However, ecological awareness within many churches and theological institutions remains relatively limited. This community engagement activity aimed to strengthen ecological awareness through an eco-theological educational approach. The program was conducted in the form of a seminar entitled Eco-Theology: Christian Faith and Ecological Responsibility, held at Gedung NOY 153, STT Victory, Cibubur, Indonesia, on 21 February 2026. Participants consisted of church leaders and theology students who are actively involved in theological education and church ministry, with a total of 45 participants involved in the program. The activity employed a participatory educational approach that integrated theological reflection, interactive discussions, and evaluation of participants’ understanding through pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the ecological crisis, the biblical foundations of creation care, Christian ecological responsibility, and commitment to environmental stewardship, with an average increase of approximately 46.7% from pre-test to post-test scores. This program demonstrates that eco-theology education can serve as an effective strategy for cultivating ecological awareness and encouraging sustainable practices within theological education and Christian communities.

Abstract

History education in elementary schools is often considered boring and difficult for students to understand due to its abstract presentation and the dominance of lecture and memorisation methods. This condition results in low interest in learning and limited understanding of historical context among students. This community service program aims to improve understanding of ancient human history through an innovative medium in the form of Adventure Path cards. The activity was carried out at Krikilan 1 Public Elementary School, involving 70 students in grades IV–VI. The Adventure Path media consists of two types, namely Travel Cards and Quiz Cards. The Travel Cards contain material on the evolution of early humans in Indonesia and the stages of early life, while the Quiz Cards contain interactive questions to reinforce understanding through discussion. The implementation results showed a significant increase in student involvement in the classroom, as evidenced by students being more active, enthusiastic, and able to explain the sequence of evolution and the stages of ancient human life coherently. The joyful learning approach made history learning more enjoyable and meaningful, and contributed to efforts to preserve cultural values from an early age.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the digital readiness of 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Karangnongko in preparation for the Computer-Based National Selection Test (SNBT). Initial observations indicated that assessment activities were still conducted using paper-based methods, limiting students’ exposure to digital examinations. To address this issue, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) system was implemented through socialisation, guided practice, and technical assistance during a try-out session. The program involved 172 students, all of whom successfully accessed and completed the CBT simulation. In addition, 118 students provided feedback through questionnaires, indicating positive responses toward system usability and examination experience. Most students reported that the CBT system was easy to use, helped reduce anxiety, and improved familiarity with computer-based examinations. These results indicate an improvement in students’ digital readiness, particularly in operational skills and examination navigation. Furthermore, the implemented CBT system can be reused independently by the school, providing sustainable benefits for future digital assessment activities.

Abstract

The limited integration between literacy activities and entrepreneurial practice has constrained the development of productivity among Generation Z. Literacy is often confined to reading activities, disconnected from reflection and real-world application, resulting in minimal impact on critical thinking and independence. Therefore, this study aims to enhance Generation Z productivity through a practice-based entrepreneurial literacy training program. The program was conducted from November 22 to December 6, 2025, involving both internal and external university students and the general public. The methods included literacy and entrepreneurship exhibitions, a structured reading practice of one book per week integrated with purchasing student products, and reflective writing activities covering book titles, emotional responses, and self-confidence levels. The results indicate that 171 participants experienced increased productivity and self-confidence, reaching 90–100%. These findings suggest that integrating literacy, self-reflection, and entrepreneurial practice fosters productive learning habits, improves critical thinking, and promotes creativity and independence among students.

Abstract

Tegalsari Village, Jabon Sub-district, Sidoarjo Regency, has limited access to clean water due to seawater intrusion, which impacts household health and micro-business productivity. This service programme aims to provide affordable access to clean water by implementing brackish-water purification technology using local materials (ALPAMAL), along with simple business management assistance. The method used was a participatory approach with data collection through a survey of 58 tool users, which was analysed using descriptive statistics. Results showed that 91.4% of respondents were satisfied with the water quality, 86.2% felt time efficiency, and most experienced a decrease in water costs. The utilisation of clean water also contributed to improved product quality, process hygiene, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction of micro enterprises. These findings show that ALPAMAL technology is an effective, affordable, and sustainable water supply solution that improves the community’s quality of life and economic competitiveness.

Abstract

Osteoartritis merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering dialami lansia dan menyebabkan nyeri kronis, keterbatasan gerak, serta penurunan kualitas hidup. Keterbatasan pemantauan dan perawatan lanjutan di tingkat komunitas menyebabkan penatalaksanaan belum optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan kader Posyandu dalam pendampingan dan monitoring komprehensif lansia dengan osteoartritis pasca injeksi intraartikuler. Program dilaksanakan di Posyandu Larasati Dukuh Kupang Surabaya melalui tahapan koordinasi, pelatihan kader, edukasi lansia, skrining klinis, pelaksanaan tindakan, dan pemantauan berkala. Skrining meliputi penilaian nyeri, pemeriksaan laboratorium, dan foto radiografi lutut. Dari 50 lansia yang diperiksa, 14 orang memenuhi indikasi dan bersedia menjalani terapi injeksi. Kader dilatih untuk melakukan senam osteoartritis, terapi infra merah, pemantauan keluhan, pemeriksaan gula darah sewaktu, serta pemantauan kepatuhan konsumsi suplemen sendi. Evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader dalam melakukan pendampingan serta pemantauan kondisi pasien. Lansia yang didampingi melaporkan penurunan nyeri dan peningkatan kenyamanan aktivitas. Program ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan kader efektif mendukung layanan osteoartritis berbasis komunitas secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The use of sales data as a basis for pricing is a strategic step to increase consumer interest in purchasing MSME products at Lamongan Mart, which the Lamongan Regency Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Office manage. This program aims to improve showroom managers’ understanding and skills in processing sales data to support price determination in line with market conditions and consumer purchasing power. The training method includes providing materials, case studies, sales data analysis, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the activity showed a 33.5% increase in participants’ understanding of the ability to read consumer demand trends, identify products with high and low sales levels, and establish more competitive pricing strategies. The use of sales data also helps managers make more accurate decisions to support increased sales of MSME products. This activity is expected to strengthen Lamongan Mart’s role as a modern, responsive, and sustainable marketing platform for superior regional products, supporting local economic empowerment.
