Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in local economic growth, yet many still struggle to market their products online because of limited digital literacy, lack of business training, and unfamiliarity with marketplace platforms. This community service program aimed to strengthen the digital marketing capacity of MSMEs in Salatiga through online marketplace training and mentoring. The participants were 18 MSMEs assisted by LazisMu Salatiga that had not yet used online marketplaces for product marketing. Using a Participatory Action Research approach, the program was implemented through problem identification, training, simulation, marketplace account creation, mentoring, and evaluation. The training introduced online business concepts, marketplace features, digital promotion practices, and strategies to expand market reach. The results showed improvements in digital literacy, digital marketing practices, online sales performance, marketplace utilization, and business competitiveness, with an average increase of 30.2% across five indicators. These findings indicate that marketplace training can support MSMEs’ transition from traditional to digital marketing.

Abstract

The growing demand for industry-ready human resources in Indonesia’s coffee sector requires vocational students to possess competencies in sensory evaluation and operational coffee skills. This community engagement program aimed to enhance vocational capacity through hedonic–organoleptic assessment and basic barista training among 33 students of the Agricultural Product Quality Control Department at SMKN 1 Tulungagung. The program employed an experiential learning approach integrating training, continuous education, and the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) cupping protocol. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test assessments, practical observations, and participant feedback. The results demonstrated significant improvements in students’ understanding of sensory attributes, cupping procedures, and coffee operational skills, with increased confidence and competency in evaluating Robusta and Arabica coffee. The program also strengthened participants’ awareness of Indonesia’s coffee industry and vocational readiness. These findings suggest that industry-oriented experiential training effectively supports operational excellence and capacity building in vocational coffee education.

Abstract

The mastery of English vocabulary from the elementary school level serves as an important foundation for the development of learners’ future language skills. However, English language instruction in elementary schools often faces challenges, particularly low student learning motivation and limited variation in teaching methods. This community service activity aimed to introduce English language learning through educational games using the topic Things in the Classroom for fourth-grade students at SDN 12 Kota Barat. The activity was conducted on December 9, 2025, involving eight students and implemented through the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The instructional approach employed was educational game-based English learning (game-based learning), which was implemented through a contextual vocabulary introduction strategy and learning techniques in the form of Simon Says and song with movement activities using simple rhythmic chants. The results indicated that the game-based learning approach created an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere, increased student engagement, and supported the meaningful acquisition of basic English vocabulary. In addition to its positive impact on students, the activity also provided pedagogical experience for university students and inspired creative teaching practices among classroom teachers. Therefore, educational game-based English learning has the potential to be sustainably implemented in elementary school instruction.

Abstract

The tradition of sharing takjil is a deeply rooted socio-religious practice among Muslim communities in Indonesia. This community service activity aimed to foster social awareness by distributing free takjil to residents and road users on Jalan Kolonel Sugiono, Kureksari Village, Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency, before the breaking of the fast. This activity employed the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach, a community empowerment framework that focuses on identifying and exploring the community's assets and resources. During the implementation stage, students actively participated by approaching residents and road users in the area and distributing takjil directly, without discrimination based on social background. The results showed a positive response from the community, as reflected in the recipients' enthusiasm and the community’s acceptance of the sharing activity before iftar. However, the activity still had several limitations, particularly in terms of distribution management and the limited number of takjil packages available. Therefore, similar activities in the future should be planned more systematically and involve more stakeholders to ensure the benefits reach a wider community.

Abstract

Household used cooking oil waste represents one of the most abundant waste sources generated at the household level. Despite its economic potential when properly utilized, the management of this waste remains suboptimal. This community service activity aims to enhance the literacy, skills, and capacity of the Ikwam Group at SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 2 Tulangan in processing used cooking oil waste into valuable products. The implementation methods include socialization on the impacts and utilization potential of used cooking oil, as well as training on simple purification processes and product creation, such as aromatherapy candles made from used cooking oil. Activity evaluation was conducted using participant response questionnaires based on the Likert scale. The results indicate that the program positively impacted participants' knowledge, motivation, skills, and awareness in household waste management. Based on the evaluation, the program achieved an 88.5% success rate, with an overall average score of 4.43, categorized as excellent. This initiative not only boosts partners' capacity for sustainable waste management but also opens opportunities for household-based creative economic development through the utilization of used cooking oil.

Abstract

The low level of scientific writing skills among high school students poses a challenge in building academic literacy readiness for college. This community service program aims to improve the scientific writing competencies of students at MA Nurul Islam Plus through outreach, training, technology-based mentoring, as well as evaluation and monitoring. The implementation method uses a participatory approach with a student-centered learning model that positions students as active participants in the learning process. The results of the activities demonstrate an improvement in students’ understanding of the basic structure of scientific papers, idea development, and the more systematic use of academic language. Program evaluation yielded an average response score of 77.29, indicating a positive category. The highest indicator was in the understanding of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in scientific writing, while the lowest indicator was in the IMRAD structure, particularly the results and discussion sections. Although there were variations in ability among students, intensive mentoring was able to gradually improve scientific writing skills. Overall, this program effectively strengthened students’ academic literacy as a foundation for readiness to meet the demands of higher education. Literacy-strengthening programs based on mentoring and digital technology need to be continued on an ongoing basis within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

The transformation of economic structures and the increasing competition in the labor market require Vocational High School (SMK) graduates to possess strong work readiness and entrepreneurial competencies. This community service program aimed to enhance students’ entrepreneurial literacy and work readiness through the implementation of the Project-Based Entrepreneurial Learning with Business Model Simulation (PBEL-BMS) method. The model integrates project-based learning, Business Model Canvas simulation, and product-oriented mentoring within five systematic stages. The participants were 36 students of SMKS PGRI Sukodadi enrolled in the Creative and Entrepreneurship Project (PKK) course. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments of entrepreneurial literacy and a rubric-based evaluation of the Business Model Canvas. The results indicated a significant improvement in average literacy scores from 52.5 to 83.0 (an increase of 30.5%), with the greatest improvement in business model comprehension (37.1%). The average Business Model Canvas quality score reached 81.8%, categorized as good. Beyond cognitive gains, students’ confidence, collaboration, and structured thinking skills also improved. Therefore, the PBEL-BMS method proves effective in strengthening entrepreneurial literacy and comprehensively enhancing vocational students’ work readiness.
