Abstract

At present there are so many languages ​​that we can know in this world, whether in the form of international languages ​​or even national languages. It is undeniable that Indonesia is a country that has many regional languages. In addition, as speakers of language, we rarely know the elements that exist in languages ​​such as phonetic studies. Because phonetics is one part of linguistic learning that studies various language sounds in general, and does not pay attention to meaning that is not functional. But in the application of linguistics at this time there are still many people who do not know the important elements in languages ​​such as phonetics especially in the study of phonetic Arabic. In addition, the relationship between Arabic and regional languages, namely Sundanese language which is very interesting to study, how the interrelation of the local language pentur in speaking Arabic which is a foreign language for their circles even though Arabic is one of the characteristics of the language of Muslims. The nature of this research is descriptive qualitative by analyzing data and using library research using trusted books and journals. This research can produce a phonetic learning of Arabic with speakers of regional languages ​​that have a distinctive dialect that is collaborated with Crowly's theory. Abstract

Pada masa transisi yaitu rentangan 100 tahun ini terdapat lima belas penyair yang representasi puisinya menjadi kajian penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tujuh jenis puisi yang terdapat pada masa transisi yaitu madh, hija, naqaidh, zuhud, gazal, khamriyyat, dan fakhr. Ketujuh puisi ini memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda-beda untuk memenuhi fungsi yang berbeda-beda pula. Diantaranya yaitu diksi yang menggunakan kata-kata konotatif, imajinasi yang kuat, menggunakan banyak majas simile/tasybih, sinisme, sarkasme, personifikasi, dan metafora/istia’rah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of information technology-based Derby Writing technique in the Arabic Language Center (PKPBA) Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and students' opinions on the use of it. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. Data sources are learning curriculum, learning process, and students. The research instruments are observation and interview. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative data analysis, namely data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results show that: 1) information technology-based Derby Writing technique in the Arabic Language Center (PKPBA) Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang is applied in several stages, namely: (a) opening and making a WhatsApp group, (b) discussing a topic, (c) asking students to write as many sentences as possible about the topic discussed, taking into account the characteristics of the Derby Writing technique, (d) asking students to take pictures of their writing and sent to the WhatsApp group, (e) students present and discuss the obstacles faced when writing such as new vocabulary, etc., (f) selecting some student writing errors randomly from the WhatsApp group, explaining and correcting them, ( g) looking together at the writings in the WhatsApp group and counting the number of vocabularies to determine the winner, and (h) closing. 2) All students feel happy and think that the application of information technology-based Derby Writing technique is very appropriate because it helps them eliminate fears when writing and improve their habits and enjoyment in writing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang pengaruh Thariqah Mubasyarah pada keahlian di dalam berbahasa arab siswa Ponpes Modern Daarul Ulil Albaab Tegal. Thariqah Mubasyaroh termasuk cara yang banyak diterapkan dalam sistem belajar berbahasa arab. Thariqah Mubasyaroh adalah cara yang diterapkan ketika menyampaikan pembelajaran bahasa asing, seorang pengajar secara langsung memakainya di dalam pengantar dan tidak memakai bahasa peserta didiknya ketika pembelajaran berlangsung. Terkait persoalan utama, hasil dan pembahasan bisa disimpulkan: Setelah melewati beberapa langkah analisis tentang Pengaruh Thariqah Mubasyaroh terhadap kemampuan berbahasa Arab Siswa Ponpes Modern Daaru Ulil Albaab Tegal, bisa diambil kesimpulan berupa: (1)Thariqah Mubasyaroh dalam pembelajaran berbahasa Arab di Ponpes Modern Daaru Ulil Albaab Tegal, berdasarkan hasil yang telah diuji dalam penelitian ini melalui hasil wawancara dan angket, dimana diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 49,47 yang berada pada interval 49-52 sehingga dapat diketahui bahwa penerapan Thariqah Mubasyaroh termasuk dalam kategori “Baik”. Kategori ini didasarkan pada pembagian klasifikasi kelas (interval) yang diperoleh dari data hasil angket pada variabel independen (X). (2) Keahlian berbahasa Arab siswa Ponpes Modern Daaru Ulil Albaab Tegal yang dilihat dari nilai Raport diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 85,15 yang berada pada interval 84-85 sehingga menunjukkan penguasaan berbahasa Arab santri berada termasuk kategori “Cukup Baik”.Kategori ini didasarkan pada pembagian klasifikasi kelas (interval) yang diperoleh dari data hasil dokumentasi pada variabel dependen (Y). (3) Berdasarkan uji hipotesis, bahwa antara Thariqah Mubasyaroh dengan kemampuan bahasa Arab Santri memiliki pengaruh “Rendah” dimana rhitung> rtabel, dengan menggunakan rumus r productmoment yakni rxy = 0,375 > rtabel = 0,312 pada taraf signifikan 5%, kemudian diinterpretasikan dengan Tabel Interpretasi Nilasi rxy = 0,375 berada pada rentang Nilai r= 0,200-0,400 yang termasuk dalam kategori Rendah. Sedangkan Thariqah Mubasyaroh memiliki pengaruh positif terkait penguasaan berbahasa arab siswa Ponpes Modern Daaru Ulil Albaab Tegal, yang ditunjukkan dengan Pengaruh Thariqah Mubasyaroh terhadap kemampuan bahasa Arab santri sebesar r square 0,141 atau 14,1%, dimana nilai signifikansinya 0,017 kurang dari signifikansinya 0,05. Jadi dalam hal ini menolak Hodan menerima Ha.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunakan metode debat meningkatkan prestasi keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam bahasa Inggris dan seberapa banyak debat berkontribusi pada setiap aspek keterampilan berbicara. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah kualitatif sebagai studi tindakan. Sebelas siswa Fakultas Keguaran dan Ilmu Pengetahuan jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris semester 5 menyelesaikan survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner survei sebagai teknik pengumpulan data, termasuk pertanyaan Ya atau Tidak dan satu pertanyaan pernyataan. Secara keseluruhan, para mahasiswa percaya bahwa debat adalah kegiatan belajar yang baik. Data penelitian ini adalah semua kegiatan dalam proses belajar mengajar terkait dengan fokus studi di bidang keterampilan berbicara yang berkaitan dengan siswa EFL, sedangkan proses belajar mengajar sebagai implementasi penulisan terintegrasi sebagai sumber data. Para responden percaya bahwa debat membantu meningkatkan dan membangun keberanian untuk keterampilan berbicara mereka. Selain itu, seperti klaim mahasiswa, manfaat lain dari debat termasuk membangun keberanian dengan argumen spontan, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, memiliki kosakata baru, dan belajar bagaimana berpikir dengan cara yang kritis.

Abstract

During this COVID-19 pandemic, most work in the world is done online, including the teaching and learning process. Online learning is generally accommodated with the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which covers a range of tools, methods, and activities. This article describes the use of ICT as it relates to the theory of language learning and then discusses principles for selecting tools and platforms which can be used to enhance language learning. In addition, the kinds of tools available for teachers and learners are highlighted. Having completed the article, the readers will hopefully gain an awareness that ICT helps improve language learning, that making decisions on selecting appropriate digital tools is vital, and that language learning can be done through digital work.

Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture has directed the assessment model at Higher-order Thinking Skills (HOTS), but in reality, students are less trained in solving the model of this assessment. This cause the learning outcomes of students tend to be less by the teachers. Therefore, the assessments made by teachers should be on the basis of HOTS. This study aimed to find out the assessment level of reading comprehension formative assessment administered by the English teachers in reference to HOTS. This research is classified as quantitative descriptive research involving two English teachers in SMA 2 Brebes. The items of formative assessment are analyzed using the cognitive level of the revised Bloom. As a result, the researchers find that the questions categorized as HOTS level obtain 18 out of 91 questions or (19.78%). Meanwhile, 73 out of 91 questions or (80.22%) are categorized as LOTS level. It can be implied that HOTS based questions are not at the dominant level. However, the test meets the requirements of the minimum standard by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the National Exam (UN) that is between 15%-20%. But, it is still a little bit less to the position of PISA questions which requires 20%.

Abstract

At present, the development of technology has increasingly advanced. This situation requires millennial to apply technology in every area of ​​life. It makes millennial generation very dependent on technology. Technology plays an important role in education context especially in English language teaching. The presence of technology makes teachers and students easier to get learning material and develop learning instructions. They can use any media technology to support the success of teaching and learning activities. There are various media applications that can be used to help the English teaching process both in the classroom and outside the classroom. In the use of electronic media applications in the learning process called e-learning. Teachers must be able to choose activities that are creative and innovative. It can make teaching activity more interesting and not get bored. This article discusses about the relationship among millennial, technology, and English language teaching to create great teachers in the future.

Abstract

This research was triggered by the problem of the status and role of the MAN 2 Kudus Arabic teachers in the community which is not always in line with the predicate of the guru agama which is inherent when teaching in madrasa. This study aims to describe the status and role of the MAN 2 Kudus Arabic teachers in the community, explore their arguments and subjective responses from various surrounding community clusters. This research is a case study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study stated: 1) All Arabic teachers in MAN 2 Kudus had social status and roles that penetrated several social fields, including medicine, organizational leadership, and spiritual counseling; 2) the relevance of the status and role of teachers in madrasas with within the community concerns three categories, indigenous Arabic teachers and migrants. Second, Arabic teachers graduated from Arabic Education (PBA) and non-PBA graduates. Third, senior and junior Arabic teachers; 3) The views of community institutions, religious leaders, madrassas, and ordinary people, related to the social status and role, First, Arabic teachers are not identical with guru agama. Second, Arabic teachers are identical to guru agama.

Abstract

Due to the Pandemic of Covid-19, teachers or lecturers must hold a full online teaching-learning process, so they should integrate technology into the teaching learning activities. To engage students in full online learning, Google Classroom, Edmodo, Kahoot, and Quizziz are some online learning platforms that are widely used by English teachers in teaching and learning. There are some video conference applications for doing video calls in the teaching-learning process, they are Zoom and Google Meet. This study focuses on students’ perceptions of the full online learning quality during the corona pandemic. The research involved 50 participants consist of students of the English Education program in the second semester of IAIN Purwokerto. The data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observation and were analyzed using the qualitative methods approach. The results of the study indicated that the majority of participants considered did not enjoy the full online learning in English teaching and learning is not effective and efficient in terms of time and phone credit. One of the reasons is the slow-speed internet is one of the difficulties in operating those applications. So, they feel they could not get maximum knowledge and information from their lecturers in full online teaching-learning activities.
