Abstract

Indonesia's culinary industry has great potential to support economic growth. Entrepreneurs are required to be able to compete, one of which is by developing products such as determining quality, shape, attractiveness, size, packaging, and other aspects that are used as part of product development. Sushi Bizkid is one of the (SME) engaged in Japanese food culinary. Sushi Bizkid uses plain packaging and plastic mica to be used in takeaway orders, besides that, the lack of information and attractive elements on the packaging makes consumers give negative comments on online food applications. Packaging design containing product-related information can create strong branding for a product so that consumers can assume that the business intense to pays attention to consumer convenience. The purpose of this study is to create a product packaging design to increase customer satisfaction at (SME) Sushi Bizkid. This research method uses descriptive qualitative data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are product development through packaging carried out with six stages of product development. Eight indicators need to be considered, namely performance, producing packaging that has performance because it has been able to meet consumer expectations related to identity and product information. Specialty, showing that the current packaging is unique in terms of visualization or packaging appearance. Reliability, packaging against shocks during product delivery. Serviceability is seen from the packaging service that keeps the product from damage and air space in the packaging. Abstract

The main objective of this study was to design and develop a College Admission Test With Intelligent Proctoring.  Eye recognition and face motion algorithm were developed to monitor acts of cheating.  Captured images captured were used for evaluation after the examination was conducted as a proof if cheating really was committed. This study is a web based proctoring that could detect acts of cheating, provide feedback for examinees who commit acts of cheating and provide a list of examinees who possibly cheat. The study used an OpenCV Open Source Computer Vision algorithm to monitor examinee’s eye and face motion while taking the examination. The images captured by the eye and face detection algorithm was evaluated and used as a proof if cheating was committed. The system was evaluated using ISO/IEC 9126. A Questionnaire duly validated by experts was employed for user’s to validate the system. Mean and Standard Deviation were used for statistical data analysis. Series of system testing were undertaken together with the users and experts. The F- Measure was used to determined the harmonic mean of precision and recall in terms of  the accuracy of the system. Based on the F-Measure, the study revealed that it has 84% accuracy and 92 % precision. Eventually, it showed that the result of the study was accurate and precise. The overall evaluation of the system by the users were very effective. Finally, the system was “very effective” based on the overall evaluation of IT Experts.

Abstract

This descriptive-correlational study was conducted to determine the level of higher order thinking skills and new normal teaching strategies of HEI faculty in the Province of Capiz. Mixed methods of research employing quantitative and qualitative approaches in gathering the data were used. A random sample of 554 HEI faculty from the Province of Capiz were chosen as respondents of the study. A researcher – made questionnaire was used to gather needed data. Statistical tools used to analyze and interpret data were frequency count, percentage, mean, t – test, Analysis of Variance and Spearman rank correlation analysis. The findings of the study revealed that HEI faculty had a very good level of higher order thinking skills as a whole and in terms of analysis, evaluation and creation. Also, they had very good degree of new normal teaching strategies as a whole and in terms of online and non-online approaches. Demographic profile such as age, sex, educational attainment and academic rank tended to affect the level of higher order thinking skills of HEI faculty. On the other hand, length of service did not affect the level of higher order thinking skills of HEI faculty. New normal teaching strategies of HEI faculty significantly differed in terms of various demographic profile such as age, sex, educational attainment, length of service in years and academic rank. Lastly, the level of higher order thinking skills was found to significantly affect the teachers’ new normal teaching strategies. Some recommendations were laid by the researchers to promote and foster higher order thinking skills and new normal teaching strategies among HEI faculty.

Abstract

Tea is one of the most popular beverages across the world that makes people to discover and develop other different kinds of teas. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the level of acceptability of fig fruit and stevia mixed blend as a tea and to determine the significant differences in terms of its color, aroma, taste and body. The researchers used a quasi-experimental research design with four distinct samples. Data were collected from a consumer-type panel consisting of 50 individuals in Bontoc, Mountain Province, using a scorecard with a 9-point Hedonic Scale to evaluate the level of acceptability. Statistical analysis, including measures of central tendency and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), was utilized to analyze the data. The results indicated that there was a very high significant difference between the control recipe and the treatments in terms of color and aroma, which indicates that the control recipe overpowered the treatments. However, in terms of taste, treatment 1 overpowers the control and the other two treatments. Therefore, the researchers suggest using other method or process in tea-making. And recommend an in-depth study for the refinement of the experimentation process to have a desired result. On the other hand, treatment 1(15grams fig fruit and 0.5grams stevia leaves) has the highest frequency of consumer preferences on the tea samples of fig fruit and stevia mixed blend.

Abstract

Despite high smoking rates and large household spending on cigarettes, the cigarettesales volume in Indonesia has gradually declined. Due to challenging years in thecigarette industry, this research aims to analyze the determinants of profitability andefficiency of cigarette companies in Indonesia from 2019 to 2023. The study uses datafrom quarterly financial reports of four companies listed on the IDX. In panel dataregression analysis, the independent variables include the current ratio (CR), assetturnover (TATO), and debt-to-equity ratio (DER), while the dependent variable is returnon assets (ROA). The selected model is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The findings revealthat CR and DER significantly negatively influence return on assets, whereas TATO hasa significant positive influence on ROA. All the independent variables collectively have asignificant influence on the ROA of cigarette companies. Among these variables, DERhas the most significant influence on profitability. These variables explain 51.90% of thevariation in ROA. Separately, the average technical efficiency score of cigarettecompanies in Indonesia from 2019 to 2023 is 69.0%. Simple regression analysis showsthat the average technical efficiency score is positive and significantly influences ROA.This variable explains 47.68% of the variation in ROA. Overall, these variables in thisresearch explain 99.76% of the variation in ROA. In conclusion, cigarette companiesshould prioritize using their assets effectively and carefully manage debt levels to attractinvestors and maintain stable returns even during market fluctuations. Keywords: Profitability, Efficiency, Cigarette Companies
