Abstract

This research project comprises of two studies. Study 1 aimed to create a fingerprint powder derived from sand and evaluate its acceptability based on fineness, adhesiveness, color, flow, and sensitivity, using a descriptive research design and survey method for assessment. Study 2 aims to examine the visibility of latent fingerprints developed with sand powder, utilizing an experimental research design and a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) methodology. A purposive sampling was used to select 25 faculty members from various universities and colleges in Region 6, as well as 5 fingerprint experts from the PNP Crime Laboratory, to serve as expert evaluators. The mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistics, and the ANOVA was the inferential statistics. SEM-EDS mapping result revealed sand powder comprises of selenium (0.84%), carbon (13.01%), calcium (36.85%), oxygen (49.78%), aluminum (0.95%), magnesium (0.56%), silicon (3.63%), and sodium (0.13%). Sand’s acceptability as a fingerprint powder, based on fineness, adhesiveness, color, flow, and sensitivity, was rated as very acceptable. The visibility of latent fingerprints developed using sand was also found to be very visible. No significant differences were noted between sand powder and commercial fingerprint powders when applied to non-porous surfaces such as glass, plastic bottles, ceramics, painted wood and doorknob.

Abstract

Along with the increasing number of diabetes sufferers in Indonesia, especially West Java, this has led to an increase in demand for gluten-free food. Potatoes, a primary food in several countries, can be processed into delicious gluten-free food such as ramen. By combining Indonesian people’s favorite Japanese cuisine with the gluten-free based ingredients and creating Potamen (Potato Ramen) this is expected to help people live healthier lifestyle. This analysis will be conducted using the business feasibility technique to ascertain whether a business can run. Potamen's primary target market is people with gluten-intolerant or celiac disease, Gen Z, and Millennials who prioritize a healthy lifestyle. From a marketing perspective, we have considered Potamen promotion, particularly social media such as TikTok or Instagram, paid celebrity advertisements, banners, brochures, and other marketing channels. According to Potamen's financial research, the company will have a payback period of roughly two years and nine months, with an initial investment of IDR 700,000,000. With all these positive financial indicators shows that Potamen business proved feasible for the long term.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze key traits and attitudes that business practitioners, entrepreneurs, or anyone working in an organization possess, influencing their daily management and long-term practices that may even cause unexpected result like financial scandals. International financial scandals (like Enron and WorldCom) and national ones (such as Garuda and Jiwasraya) highlight the severe consequences of unethical practices, often resulting in substantial financial losses. Using questionnaire survey, SEM analysis is conducted to test the traits among accountants from Public Accounting Firms sampled as 269 respondents. The result reveals that while love of money does not significantly affect employees' ethical perceptions, Machiavellianism has a negative impact, which can be mitigated by idealism. Gender showed minimal influence on moderating these effects. The findings also emphasize the importance of moral development in the accounting profession, suggesting that fostering ethical reasoning is more effective than simply following regulations.

Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the impact of a food processing technology project which was implemented at Brgy. Simsiman, Calinog, Iloilo according to general and specific category classifications. This was done in order to determine the segmented results of the project and what the intervention approaches are achieving. A 4-part method for data collection and assessments were utilized, namely: 1. Respondents’ profiling survey; 2. Project status monitoring; 3. Impact assessment survey; and 4. Conduction of a focus group discussion. Established data collection and analysis procedures were employed to get accurate results. The results show that over-all, the project has a “high impact” change” (Md= 3.53). With the specific category classifications, it’s either “high impact” or “moderate impact” - Age:  less than 40 (Md=3.53); 40 and over (Md=3.38). With regard to family size, 5-member families (Md=3.64); 7-member families (Md=3.52); and 2-member families (Md=3.07). For educational attainment: finished elementary level (Md=3.54); high school level/ graduate (Md=3.53); and reached or finished college education (Md=3.07). Therefore, it can be concluded that the objectives were successfully obtained. Further, the classification of the categories used may not have a direct correlation to the impact of the study to them but is a great tool to draw insights and inferences. It is hereby recommended that more parallel studies focusing on other aspects and sub-categories be conducted and should utilize the results and discussions herein as a baseline data for a possible complementing result.

Abstract

In traditional power outage reporting systems, consumers are often responsible for reporting the issue, which can cause delays in resolving the problem as they may not know the full extent of the outage. This research aims to create a device designed to continuously monitor electricity and notify providers of outages. Due to its portability and low power consumption, the researchers utilized the Arduino Nano. In addition to this, they incorporated the Split Core AC Transformer Module, the ZMPT ACS power line sensor, and an I2C 20x4 LCD screen. Furthermore, a SIM GSM Module was employed to facilitate communication with a pre-registered mobile number. To determine the functionality a series of tests were conducted. The device was tested by turning the power supply off three times for determining the speed of power detection. Then it was turned back on, and continuously monitored the electricity for three minutes. The SMS alert system was also tested by simulating a power outage and verifying that it sent a text message to the pre-registered number with the message "Power Outage Detected!!!" In addition, the LCD displayed "Status: Failure!" to indicate the power outage It can detect a power outage at an average of 8.53 seconds, while 6.64 seconds to detect power restoration.  The prototype can also successfully display its status on the LCD screen, as well as send an SMS to the preregistered mobile number. The device prototype is functional in terms of continuous electricity monitoring, and power outage detection.
