Abstract

PLN UP3 Binjai faces challenges in understanding customer characteristics in each rayon so the service strategy is not fully effective. This study aims to group electricity user areas based on customer type and installed power so that PLN can develop a more targeted and efficient service strategy. The method used in this study is clustering with the K-Means algorithm, with customer data for 2024 from 9 rayons analyzed using the MATLAB R2014b application. Grouping is done with 3, 4 and 5 clusters. The results of grouping 3 clusters produce a variance value of 1.0890, in grouping 4 clusters it produces a variance value of 0.8047 and in grouping 5 clusters it produces a variance value of 0.6093. The results of the Grouping that has been carried out show that 5 clusters provide the most optimal results with the smallest variance value of 0.6093 which shows that the distribution of data between clusters is more homogeneous and representative. Each cluster shows a different combination pattern of rayon, installed power and customer type, which can be used as a basis for developing a more effective service strategy. Abstract

Sukaraya Village, Pancur Batu District, has great potential in the fisheries cultivation sector. Activities such as aeration and water pumping require reliable and efficient energy sources. Solar Power Plants (PLTS) are a sustainable solution that can overcome these obstacles, considering the abundant availability of sunlight in this area. This study aims to design an optimal PLTS system to support fish farming operations in Sukaraya Village. The design is carried out by considering the power needs of the fisheries system, the potential of solar energy, and the efficiency and reliability of the PLTS components. Based on the research results, the PLTS components consist of 15 pcs of 100 Wp polycrystalline solar panels, a 100 A solar charge controller, 4 12V 150Ah batteries, and an inverter capacity of 7000A. The results of calculations in the PLTS planning can distribute electricity with a load capacity of 5,760Wh. The results of the calculation of the overall cost required in the planning of a solar power plant for fish farming are Rp. 51,912,967

Abstract

The problem of limited energy and high household electricity consumption in Indonesia encourages the importance of implementing energy-efficient lighting technology. The still high use of energy-wasting incandescent lamps indicates the low energy literacy of the community in choosing efficient types of lamps. This study aims to analyze and compare the energy efficiency of three generations of lamp technology, namely incandescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), and LED lamps, with an experimental approach. Testing was carried out using a wattmeter, lux meter, and infrared thermometer in a closed room with controlled conditions. Each type of lamp was tested with a light output equivalent to ±800 lumens. The test results showed that LED lamps had the lowest power consumption of 10 watts with the highest efficiency of 80 lumens per watt and a surface temperature of 45°C. CFLs have a power consumption of 15 watts with an efficiency of 53.3 lumens per watt and a temperature of 70°C. Meanwhile, incandescent lamps consume 60 watts with an efficiency of only 13.3 lumens per watt and a surface temperature of 120°C. Simulation of household use shows that the use of LEDs can save electricity costs of up to 112,500 rupiah per month compared to incandescent lamps. The results of this study provide empirical evidence that LEDs are the most efficient lighting solution in terms of energy, cost, and safety of use for the household sector.

Abstract

Pengelolaan aset yang efektif dan efisien menjadi faktor penting dalam mendukung operasional perusahaan, termasuk di PT Pengusaha Muda. Permasalahan yang dihadapi perusahaan ini antara lain adalah pencatatan aset yang masih dilakukan secara manual, kurangnya integrasi data, dan tingginya risiko kehilangan informasi. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, penelitian ini merancang dan membangun sistem informasi pengelolaan aset berbasis web dengan menggunakan framework CodeIgniter. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan waterfall, yang terdiri dari tahap analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem informasi yang mampu mencatat, mengelola, dan menyajikan data aset secara real-time, lengkap dengan fitur pencatatan aset, pelacakan status, pengelompokan, dan laporan aset. Pengujian sistem dilakukan dengan metode black box dan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fungsi sistem berjalan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Dengan adanya sistem ini, PT Pengusaha Muda dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi dalam pengelolaan asetnya.

Abstract

Humans today are very dependent on technology. Technology is a basic need of every individual. Raudhatul Athfal Al-Hasan has not utilized technology optimally in the teaching and learning process. Researchers have a goal to design and build Augmented Reality (AR) applications for interactive introduction of alphabet letters. The method used is Marker Based Tracking. This application is designed so that children can understand the material and use it easily in classroom learning activities. The focus of the research lies on the design and development of Augmented Reality (AR) applications. The users gave a positive assessment. The average System Usability Scale (SUS) score reached 80.8. The value is equivalent to Grade B. The application quality assessment is in the Excellent category. The level of user acceptance is in the Acceptable category. The results show that the application provides significant benefits in the learning process.

Abstract

This study analyzes the Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI) at the multi-story motorcycle workshop of PT. Buana Jaya Lestari in Medan to identify energy consumption characteristics and optimization potential. The research method used energy audits, direct measurements, and historical energy consumption data analysis over a 12-month period. The research object is a multi-story workshop with a total area of 1,850 m² distributed across three floors with different functions. The results of the study show a total ECI of 100.67 kWh/m²/year, which meets the national standard for commercial buildings with partial air conditioning. Energy consumption distribution per floor varies significantly: floor 1 (138.09 kWh/m²/year), floor 2 (99.84 kWh/m²/year), and floor 3 (48.00 kWh/m²/year). The air conditioning system dominates energy consumption with a contribution of 42.1%, followed by the lighting system (23.9%), workshop equipment (20.0%), and support systems (14.0%). The most influential factors are external ambient temperature (correlation 0.85) and the number of vehicles served (correlation 0.78). Energy savings potential reaches 13.4% or 24,878 kWh/year through optimization of the air conditioning system and retrofitting of the lighting system. Implementing energy conservation strategies can result in financial savings of Rp 37,317,000/year, a reduction in CO₂ emissions of 17.41 tons CO₂eq/year, and a decrease in the Energy Performance Index (EPI) to 87.25 kWh/m²/year.

Abstract

This study aims to design and buiId an Internet of Things (IoT)based air quality monitoring system that can be applied in classrooms to support the comfort and health of room users. This system integrates the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroIIer with a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor, and an MQ-135 air quality sensor. The environmental data obtained is displayed in real-time via the Blynk application and an OLED LCD screen, making it easy to monitor without having to be on site. The design process was carried out using the Research and Development (R&D) method approach, which includes the stages of identifying needs, designing, implementing, and testing the system in the fieId. The test results show that the system is able to provide accurate and stable data with temperature and humidity measurement deviations that are still within tolerance limits. This system is expected to be a simple but effective solution to maintain classroom air circulation, while increasing awareness of the importance of air quaIity in educational environments.

Abstract

his study aims to evaluate the mechanical properties of welded joints produced using the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) method on BS 1501 223 490B steel material. The evaluation was carried out through destructive testing, including tensile test, bend test, and Charpy impact test. The tensile test revealed a maximum tensile strength of 584.39 N/mm² on the All Weld specimen, with an elongation of 26.23%. In the Transverse test, fracture occurred in the base metal, indicating that the weld joint had superior quality compared to the parent material. The bend test on both Face Bend and Root Bend specimens showed visually "Satisfactory" results, with maximum stress reaching 2,122.55 N/mm². The Charpy V-notch impact test indicated an average absorbed energy of 109.98 Joules at room temperature, demonstrating good toughness under impact loading. The results confirm that welded joints produced by the SAW method on BS 1501 223 490B steel exhibit excellent strength, ductility, and toughness, making them suitable for structural and high-pressure applications. This study reinforces the effectiveness of the SAW method in producing high-quality joints in the metal fabrication industry.

Abstract

Losses are a natural phenomenon that cannot be avoided, because they are absolute and certain to occur in the distribution of electric power. Technical losses are influenced by the type of cross-section, cross-sectional area, natural factors such as temperature, and so on. In this study, the author analyzes changes in operating patterns against losses at PT PLN ULP Imandi with a spindle system or can be supplied from other feeders. In ULP Imandi there are 3 feeders, namely SO1, SLO7, and OB2, each of which is supplied from a different GI (main substation). The purpose of this study is to analyze the technical losses that occur in ULP Imandi so that a value is obtained with the help of ETAP software which can then be used as a reference for evaluation. ULP Imandi has a feeder length of 207.22 kms with a AAAC 50mm2 cross-section of 60.093 kms, AAAC 95 mm2 of 84.273 kms, and AAACS 150 mm2 of 62.854 kms. With this data, the ideal loss value for ULP Imandi is 119,448 kWh/month.

Abstract

This research explains the positive impact of the overcurrent relay (OCR) protection system, which functions to protect against excessive currents at PT. Sri Intan Karplas Industri. Overcurrent protection is the primary means of keeping equipment safe from problems such as short circuits and overloads. This research was conducted by observing specific situations and collecting field data, including test data and calculations on the MCGG82 OCR. Testing showed that the OCR relay was still suitable for use because the difference between the tripping time during testing and the calculated time was within 5%. This research also demonstrated that the OCR system is excellent at protecting against excessive currents, which can help protect electrical power systems in industrial environments.
