Abstract

This article explores community empowerment through the integration of traditional knowledge and public health in the context of contemporary social development. Employing a systematic literature review method, the study synthesizes and analyzes primary and secondary sources, including academic journals, government reports, ethnographic documents, and international publications from 2016-2026, focusing on cases in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Key findings reveal that traditional knowledge such as jamu herbal remedies, tradition-based sanitation, and communal work practices strengthens public health programs by enhancing accessibility, cultural acceptance, and community resilience against modern challenges like pandemics and environmental degradation. However, barriers such as lack of scientific validation, urbanization, and centralistic policies often impede integration. The article proposes a hybrid framework combining evidence-based practice with local wisdom, including recommendations for capacity building, digital documentation, and inclusive policies. This approach not only supports sustainable empowerment but also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 and SDG 11, positioning local communities as primary agents of change in the social development era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the representation of the mother's role in the lyrics of the song Bertaut by Nadin Amizah using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. As a medium of mass communication, music does more than provide entertainment; it also shapes social and cultural meaning. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative analysis across three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The research data consists of the song's lyrics, which are analyzed in depth to reveal the symbolic meanings contained within. The results indicate that the lyrics portray the mother as a figure who is ever-present in various aspects of a child's life. Denotatively, the mother’s presence is seen in situations of difficulty, confusion, and life achievements. Connotatively, the mother is interpreted as a source of affection, emotional strength, and a guide in life. At the level of myth, the mother is depicted as a figure synonymous with sacrifice and the source of life. Consequently, Bertaut functions not only as a musical work but also as a medium that represents societal values and perspectives regarding the role of a mother.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) has increasingly become a behavioral pattern among Generation Z along with the rapid growth of social media usage. This study aims to analyze the influence of FoMO on consumptive behavior related to digital shopping activities on Instagram among university students. The research applied a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Participants were selected using a snowball sampling technique based on their Instagram usage intensity and online purchasing experience. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, digital observation, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings indicate that FoMO emerges through a combination of algorithmic exposure, such as Instagram Stories, Reels, personalized advertisements, and continuous social comparison with influencers and peers. These triggers encourage impulsive purchasing behavior driven by the need for social validation, self-presentation, and alignment with online trends rather than functional needs. Most participants admitted purchasing products to maintain digital presence and enhance online identity. In conclusion, FoMO significantly shapes students’ consumption behavior and highlights that digital consumption is increasingly connected to identity construction, social validation, and perceived status within the social media environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between culinary businesses, particularly fried rice businesses, and the use of SWOT analysis as a strategic tool in business development. The study applies Strategic Management Theory because strategic management is closely related to the use of SWOT analysis in identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that influence a business. Through this approach, business actors can better understand internal and external factors that affect the sustainability and competitiveness of their culinary businesses. The methodology used in this research is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Phenomenological qualitative research is commonly used in social studies to understand and explore the meaning of a phenomenon experienced by individuals or groups. This approach aims to reveal shared meanings derived from the life experiences of individuals related to a particular concept or phenomenon, in this case the fried rice culinary business. Based on the analysis results, the difference in the internal factor score is 0.95 and the external factor score is 0.63. These findings indicate that the fried rice business still has good opportunities to grow and compete in the culinary market despite competition from other culinary businesses such as satay and other traditional foods.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed marketing practices, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that must continuously adapt to evolving consumer behavior and competitive market environments. Digital marketing has emerged as an effective approach to expanding market reach, strengthening customer engagement, and supporting business profitability. This study examines the impact of digital marketing strategies on the profitability of MSMEs operating in the Sekayu region. A quantitative research design was applied using a survey method, involving 275 MSME owners as respondents. The independent variables include digital marketing strategy, digital content quality, customer interaction, and social media utilization, while profitability serves as the dependent variable. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability testing, classical assumption analysis, and multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that all digital marketing variables have a positive and significant influence on MSME profitability. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.674 suggests that the proposed model explains a substantial proportion of profitability variation. These results highlight the strategic importance of digital marketing optimization in enhancing MSME competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

The phenomenon of cross-border labor migration has shaped the Transnational Family Economy (TFE), which has impacted the transformation of gender roles within families, particularly in border areas. This study aims to describe the transformation and renegotiation of gender roles in the context of the transnational family economy in Sekunyit Hamlet, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan, as well as to analyze the driving factors, obstacles, and implications for family welfare. The study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with transnational family members and community leaders selected purposively, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that women have shifted their roles from the domestic sphere to becoming strategic economic contributors (co-breadwinners), mainly through agriculture and informal work, without completely replacing the normative role of men as the main breadwinners. This transformation is adaptive and flexible, influenced by the characteristics of the borderland economy, kinship social capital, education levels, and cross-border work experience that transfers ideological capital related to gender equality. However, these changes have not yet resulted in substantive equality because women still face a double burden due to patriarchal norms, limited access to information, and economic opportunities outside the traditional sector.
