Abstract

The challenge to balance the roles between work and family for employees is influenced by various factors ranging from organizational and individual aspects. Occupational self-efficacy is an individual factor that predict of work-family balance. The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the relationship between work-family balance with occupational self-efficacy. This study uses two instruments including the work-family balance scale and occupational self-efficacy scale. Partisipants in this study were 138 employees. The results of the Spearmen Rho’s analysis showed that occupational self-efficacy had a significant correlation with work-family balance (p=0.00, p0.05).

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the relationship between perfectionism and stress of completing a thesis on students. The participants in this study were 179 undergraduate students completing a thesis. The hypotheses proposed that 1) there is a positive relationship between Self-Oriented Perfectionism (SOP) and stress of completing a thesis, 2) there is a positive relationship between Other-oriented Perfectionism (OOP) and stress of completing a thesis, 3) there is a positive relationship between Socially-prescribed Perfectionism (SPP) and stress of completing a thesis, and 4) there is a relationship between perfectionism and stress of completing a thesis. This study used quantitative methods. The data were collected using Skala Stress Mengerjakan Skripsi (α = 0,926) and a scale modified from Hewitt and Flett (1991)’s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (αstrat= 0.888).  This study used nonparametric analysis Spearman's Rho to analyze hypothesis 1), and parametric analysis Pearson's Product Moment to analyze hypothesis 2), 3), 4). The results showed that 1) there was no relationship between self-oriented perfectionism (SOP) and  stress of completing a thesis (rs = 0.094; p = 0.106 0.05), 2) there was a positive relationship between other-oriented perfectionism (OOP) and  stress of completing a thesis (r = 0.247; p = 0.000 0.05), 3) there was positive relationship between socially-prescribed perfectionism (SPP) and stress of completing a thesis (r = 0.408; p = 0.000 0.05), and 4) there was the relationship between perfectionism and the stress of completing a thesis (r = 0.329; p = 0.000). Keywords: perfectionism, stress, academic stress, stress of completing a thesis, students

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the correlation between perceptions of electronic- word-of-mouth (e-WOM) with the intention of buying online fashion products among the millennial generation. The hypothesis of the proposed research is the positive and significant correlation between the variables of perceptions of e-WOM with the intention of buying online fashion products among the millennial generation. The subjects in this study were 684 people born in 1980-2000 who has no prior access or purchase of fashion products online and read the reviews or reviews online about fashion products. The data was collected by distributing a questionnaire study that contains scaled perceptions of e-WOM (21 items, 0.885) and purchase intention scale of online fashion products (4 items, ). The test results showed the assumption that the data are not eligible for normality but were qualified for linearity. The data analysis was performed using Spearman's rho method. Test results analysis shows that the variable perceptions of e-WOM positively correlated with the intention of buying online fashion products. Both of these variables have a correlation coefficient of r = 0.227 and the value of significance p = 0.000. Each dimension in the variable perceptions of e-WOM positively correlated with the intention of buying online fashion products. Dimensions credibility of e-WOM has a correlation coefficient of r = 0.221 and the value of significance (p = 0.000), the dimensions of the quality of e-WOM has a correlation coefficient of r = 0.239 and the value of significance (p = 0.000), and the dimensions of the quantity of e-WOM has a value the correlation coefficient r = 0.123 and the value of significance (p = 0.000).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the adjustment of Javanese students living in the Greater Jakarta area. Respondents were students of class X and XI Javanese high school in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi totaling 135 students. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. The research data was obtained using the Adjustment Scale with a reliability coefficient of Cronbach alpha of 0.751. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis based on the percentage of gender, grade level, and aspects of adjustment. The results of the study based on hypothetical data showed that Javanese students had moderate and high levels of adjustment. There is no adjustment of students who are in the low category. This shows that if generalized, Javanese students have good self-adjustment. Based on empirical data, more Javanese students have self-adjustment in the low category than in the high category, which is 26.67%. Based on gender, male students' adjustment was more in the high category than in the low category; while the adjustment of female students was in the low category compared to the high category. Based on class groups, it shows that there are still many class X and class XI who have self-adjustment in the low category. Based on the aspect of adjustment, it shows that from all aspects of adjustment, more students are in the low category than high. Aspects of individual ability in overcoming anxiety and stress are dominated in the low category, namely 51.85%. Keywords: adjustment, students, Javanese

Abstract

Skala Penundaan Umum (SPU) has been adopted and modified from Unintentional Procrastinational Scale. Participants of this study were students and nonstudents, females and males. The total number of participants were 201 from mostly Java and some were from other places in Indonesia. Method used to test the SPU were construct, content, and convergent validities, test-retest reliability, and Alpha Cronbach reliability. Results indicated that the SPU was valid and reliable with some cautiousness when it was to be used directly in practice, since there were some limitations in the process of modifying and analyzing the data. The purpose of this article is to discuss whether the scale is proven to being valid and reliable to be used to predict procrastination in general public.
