Abstract

Pengoptimalan peran ternak terhadap pendapatan dengan menggunakan kotoran ternak sebagai bahan biogas merupakan  pilihan yang tepat.  Dengan teknologi sederhana ini, kotoran ternak yang tadinya hanya mencemari lingkungan dapat diubah menjadi sumber energi terbarukan yang sangat bermanfaat.  Biogas adalah gas mudah terbakar (flammable) yang dihasilkan dari proses fermentasi bahan-bahan organik oleh bakteri bakteri anaerob (bakteri yang hidup dalam kondisi kedap udara).  Pada dasarnya semua jenis bahan organik bisa di proses untuk menghasilkan biogas, namun demikian hanya bahan organik (padat, cair) homogen seperti kotoran dan urine (air kencing) hewan ternak yang cocok untuk sistem biogas sederhana.  Biogas merupakan salah satu solusi teknologi energi untuk mengatasi kesulitan masyarakat akibat kenaikan harga bahan bakar minyak (BBM), teknologi ini bisa segera diaplikasikan, terutama untuk kalangan masyarakat pedesaan yang memelihara hewan ternak sapi.  Biogas yang menggunakan bahan kotoran ternak menghasilkan api berwarna biru bersih, tidak menghasilkan asap maupun bau sehingga kebersihan dapur terjaga. Biogas dapat digunakan 24 jam nonstop tidak akan berhenti sepanjang  bahan baku kotoran ternak rutin dipasok ke dalam digester.  Untuk memasak air dengan biogas membutuhkan waktu 15 menit lebih cepat dibandingkan menggunakan kayu bakar atau minyak tanah.  Biaya menjadi lebih irit. Keluarga  yang sudah menggunakan biogas tidak membutuhkan pembelian bahan bakar karena sudah bisa terpenuhi kebutuhannya dari kotoran ternak yang dipeliharanya.  Teknologi biogas dapat diterapkan pada skala rumah tangga dengan asumsi rata-rata kepemilikan ternak sapi ditiap rumah 2 ± 3 ekor.  Satu ekor sapi bisa menghasilkan rata-rata 23,59 kg kotoran per hari.  Dengan mengeluarkan biaya Rp. 1,5 juta untuk membeli satu unit alat biogas, bisa melakukan penghematan dalam tahun pertama adalah Rp. 552.960, sedangkan tahun berikutnya mendapat keuntungan sebesar Rp. 1.037.540 dikurangi total biaya perawatan/tahun. Menerapkan teknologi baru kepada masyarakat desa dilihat dari aspek sosio kultural  merupakan suatu tantangan tersendiri akibat rendahnya latar belakang pendidikan, pengetahuan dan wawasan yang mereka miliki.  oleh karena itu diperlukan sosialisasi yang terus menerus.  Apabila secara ekonomi tidak menguntungkan masyarakat maka aplikasi teknologi tersebut akan gagal.  Aplikasi biogas menjadikan kotoran ternak sangat berharga, oleh karena itu para petani akan rajin merawat ternaknya sehingga kondisi kandang menjadi bersih dan kesehatan ternak menjadi lebih baik. Secara tidak langsung akhirnya akan membawa keuntungan dengan penjualan ternaknya yang sehat, lebih cepat besar dan harga jualnya menjadi lebih tinggi.

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the bacterial contamination in fresh milk from farmers, milk collectors, and dairy cooperative (KUD) in Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency. The evaluation of bacterial contamination has been observed by the number of bacteria, milk distribution time, reductation test, alcohol test and pH test of fresh milk samples which had been taken from 30 farmers, 30 milk collectors and 4 dairy cooperatives in Getasan Subdistrict. The result showed that in the farmers, there is 1 positive alcohol test from 30 samples, pH 6, reductation time of 7 hours, and has total bacteria 3.01 × 105 cfu / ml milk. The alcohol test of the milk from collectors also show 1 positive result from 30 samples with pH 6, reduction time of 6 hours and has total bacteria 6.17 × 105 cfu / ml milk. While in alcohol test of dairy cooperative shows 2 positive result, from 4 samples with pH 6, reductation time of 5 hours and has total bacteria 1.38 × 106 cfu / ml milk. The duration of milk distribution from farmer to KUD were 111 minutes. Thus, it is concluded that microbiological quality of milk in farmers and milk collectors level is good because it is below the maximum limit of total bacteria according to Indonesian Standart, but the amount of bacteria milk contamination in dairy cooperative is high due to the duration of distribution (111 minutes) without cooling.Keywords: bacterial count, milk quality, milk safety, distribution time

Abstract

The purpose of research is to analyze the costs, revenues, income, level of feasibility in terms of BEP Gross B / C on clove leaf oil distillation business in the sub-District Kendal Sukorejo. The methodology used is a case study in the sub-District Kendal Sukorejo. The number of respondents 29 are all entrepreneurs who are distillation in sub-District Kendal Sukorejo, scattered in the village Puwosari, Ngargosari, Pesaren, Tamanrejo, Harjodowo, Damarjati, Mulyosari, Selokaton, Ngadiwarno and Kalibogor. The data used are primary and secondary data. The results showed that in the dry season the average cost incurred for clove leaf oil distillation business in a single distillation process of Rp 1,433,003,-/ distillation unit. The average revenue of Rp 1,615,586,-, so that during the dry season earned income of Rp 182,583,-. Value BEP production quantities clove leaf oil distillation at 16.21 kg and BEP rupiah at          Rp 78,392,-/Kg, gross B/C ratio of 1.13 so that the business is feasible. While the rainy season the average cost incurred for clove leaf oil distillation business in a single distillation process of Rp 684,556,- / distillation unit. The average revenue of     Rp 646,058,-, so that during the rainy season loss of Rp 38,498,-. Value BEP production quantities clove leaf oil distillation at 7.75 Kg and BEP rupiah at Rp 93,264,-/Kg, gross B/C ratio of 0.94 so that the business is not feasible in the rainy season. The conclusion of this research hypotheses 1 and 2 can be accepted, hypothesis 3 can be accepted during the dry season and the rainy season the hypothesis is rejected. Abstract

Population growth will be followed by the fulfillment of a residence or settlement so that it will trigger a land conversion. Land conversion or land conversion is defined as a change in the function of part or all of the land area from its original function (as planned) to other functions that have negative impacts (problems) on the environment and the potential of the land itself. According to BPS (2001) in a period of 7 years (1993-2000) there was a reduction in Indonesian agricultural land by 710,000 ha or 56.167 ha per year. As the population in Indonesia increases, it is followed by a decrease in the area of agricultural land due to the process of land conversion to meet residential needs. Land conversion that is carried out directly or indirectly, can be temporary or permanent, can be in the form of gradual conversion with a sporadic pattern, systematic conversion with an “enclave” pattern, land conversion in response to population growth, conversion caused by social problems, conversion without burden and Agricultural adaptation conversion Land conversion is influenced by external factors including economic, socio-cultural, increasing population and regulations, while internal factors such as less productive land and economic pressure from farmers. Conversion of agricultural land has a positive impact in the form of increased investment in the non-agricultural sector but has a negative impact on threatening national food security and decreasing environmental quality. Abstract

Six different long lighting will have an influence on the growth and yield quality of alfalfa seed. The objective of this research is knowing long lighting optimum which result optimum growth and yield quality of alfalfa seed.  The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with single experiment on June until December 2013 in the Green House facility that owned by Faculty of Agriculture Wahid Hasyim University in Semarang. Data observed were analyzed by analysis of variance with a completely randomized design, and followed by Duncan's multiple range test at the level of 5%. The lighting treatment on alfalfa at night were not lighting as control, 3 hours, 4 hours, 5 hours, 6 hours, and 7 hours. The result of the study showed that all treatment were tried on alfalfa crops variety of WL 625 HQ didn’t produce flowers and seed.   Keywords: Alfalfa, growth, long day plant, long  lighting, quality of alfalfa seed yield.

Abstract

Marketing is an important aspect in running fishing business because it is an economic activity that influences the fluctuation of fishermen’s income. The production can be useless if the price is low, thus, marketing has to be good and efficient. This research is about the efficiency of the marketing system of fresh fish layang (Decapterus russeli) in the fish auction place. Specifically, this research is to know : 1) the marketing system of fresh fish layang in Tegal City. 2) the marketing margin of fresh fish layang in Tegal City. 3) the distribution flow of fresh fish layang in Tegal City. 4) the reason fishermen sell their products in the Fish Auction Place. The method use in this research is descriptive analysis method, The registration data and literature study. Based on the analysis, it  is known that the marketing system of fresh in the Fish Auction Place, seen from the marketing cost calculation, purchasing price, selling price and profit is < 1, which means efficient. And if seen from the marketing margin, the most efficient flow is channel 4 (the 4th channel). Meanwhile, the reason why fishermen sell their Fish Auction Place is because of the guarantee that their product will be sold. Fish is a product that is easily broken and rotten. Therefore, the guarantee that the product will be sold, can minimize loss risk for fisherman. Key word : Marketing Efficiency, Fresh Layang Fish, Fish Auction Place.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine conduct of maintenance ofbeef cattle and the influence of production factors to the income breedercattle in Sub district Patebon Kendal Regency. The experiment wasconducted in October 2009 and Location of research taken in the sub districtPatebon Kendal Regency, then selected two villages that have the potentialas a producer of beef cattle. Determination of the location on theconsideration that the District Patebon Kendal District is an area of lowlandtropical climates have great potential in the development of beef cattlefattening. The research method used is survey method. The amount ofsamples was 60 respondents from the two villages, each village was taken30 samples. Methods of data analysis using multiple linear regressionanalysis. The results showed simultaneous production factors affect revenuecattle farmer, the significance value of 0.003 (p <0.01). Partially laboreffusion is very influential on revenue of cattle farmer with a significancevalue of 0.000 (p <0.01), while the cost of feed grasses, feed concentratecosts and the number of livestock has no effect on the income of cattle, thesignificance values obtained at 0.341; 0.334 and 0.705 (p> 0.05).Mathematical model is Y = 457,820.5 + 0.88 X1 - 0.443 X2 + X3 +27077.239 X4 110,609.0Keywords : income farmer, beef cattle

Abstract

Tea shoots processing intended to alter the chemical composition of fresh tea shoots, so bring the desired properties. Freshly plucked tea leaves containing water 75% of the weight of the leaves. The water contained in the leaves removed through the process of withering and drying in the processing of green tea. Green tea liquid waste obtained from the milling process and not used optimally, it needs a touch technology that can turn liquid waste into useful liquid organic fertilizer. The use of an activator / starter (micro-organisms) in green tea liquid waste is an alternative technology to improve the health and fertility of the soil and plants. The purpose of this study to determine the benefits of using liquid waste of green tea on the growth of tea seeds. Results of analysis of the utilization liquid waste of green tea with the addition of starter (EM-4) has not shown any real effect on the percentage of seedling growth and seedling growth (plant height, number of leaves and greenery). Keywords: liquid waste, green tea, organic matter.

Abstract

SUMPENA.2011.To Determine the effect of Packing and Storage Method on the Viability of Cucumber Seed. Following  reports poor Cucumber seed germination from farmers who had been sent seed, a laboratory experiment was conducted to determine the effect of storage period and packing method on the viability of four cucumber variety. The experiment was conducted at LEHRI from January 2010 to December2010. A Split Plot Design with three replications was used with packing method as the main plot and storage period as the subplot. After 6 mount Cucumber seed germination (82%) was significantly higher when stored at room temperature in vacuum packed alumunium foil sachets, than all other packing methods. The percentage of Cucumber seed  which around 60% after 4 mount to 21% and 10% after 6 mounts respectively. When first tested, the Venus variety exhibited significantly lower germination (63%) than the other varietys which ranged from 86-98%. Key word; Storage, packing, cucumber seed, viability.

Abstract

Mentimun memiliki pertumbuhan vegetatif yang cepat. Pertumbuhan perlu dikendalikan untuk menggurangi organ vegetatif dan memaksimalkan produksi pada masa generatif. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menggetahui pengaruh pemangkasan dan dosis kompos pada pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.). Penelitian dilakukan pada februari – juni 2021 di Greenhouse Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro. Rancangan menggunakan rancangan faktorial acak lengkap 3 x 3 dengan 4 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah pemagkasan yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu tanpa pemangkasan (P0), pemangkasan pucuk (P1) dan pemangkasan cabang lateral (P2). Faktor kedua adalah dosis kompos yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, 15 ton/ha (K1), 30 ton/ha (K2) dan 45 ton/ha (K3). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam. Data yang signifikan dilanjutkan uji jarak berganda (Duncan) 5%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa jumlah daun, jumlah buah, berat total buah signifikan dipengaruhi oleh dosis kompos. Parameter waktu muncul bunga memberikan hasil signifikan yang dipengaruhi oleh pemangkasan, dosis kompos dan interaksi dari perlakuan. Parameter luas permukaan daun memberikan hasil signifikan yang dipengaruhi oleh pemangkasan. Panjang tanaman, dan panjang buah tidak dipengaruhi oleh perlakuan yang diberikan
