Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education is rapidly increasing; however, empirical evidence regarding its impact on students’ higher-order thinking skills in junior secondary informatics education remains limited, particularly within the Indonesian madrasah context. This study aims to examine the effect of AI integration in informatics learning on students’ analytical reasoning and creativity at MTs Negeri 9 Indramayu. A quantitative research design was employed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study involved 174 students who had experience using AI-based tools in informatics classes. Data were collected through a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 14 items that met established validity and reliability criteria. The results show that AI integration has a positive and significant influence on both analytical reasoning and creativity, with a stronger effect observed on analytical reasoning. The structural model demonstrates moderate explanatory power and satisfactory predictive relevance. These findings contribute to educational technology research by providing empirical evidence that AI can function as a cognitive support system in informatics learning to foster higher-order thinking skills in the madrasah educational environment.

Abstract

Assessment of science learning outcomes in junior high school science education is still largely dominated by conventional tests that do not adequately accommodate differences in students’ abilities and provide limited diagnostic feedback. This limitation highlights the need for a more adaptive and data-driven assessment system. This study aims to map the needs for developing a web-based Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT) system integrating Artificial Intelligence and Item Response Theory (AI-IRT) for science assessment at the junior high school level. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach at the Analysis stage of the ADDIE development model. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with one junior high school science teacher and five students, and analyzed using NVivo through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings reveal six key needs: adaptive assessment systems, measurement fairness and precision, diagnostic feedback, efficiency and automation, infrastructure readiness, and user-friendly interface design. These findings demonstrate the potential of integrating AI and IRT to support more accurate, personalized, and efficient science assessment. The results provide a conceptual and operational foundation for developing an AI-IRT-based CAT web system tailored to junior high school science learning.

Abstract

In the era of digital disruption, an agile and responsive bureaucracy is essential to improve governance and public service delivery. The Government of Jembrana Regency has implemented the Online Population Administration Service System (SIPEDULI) and the Jembrana One Data from Villages program to support digital services and village-level data governance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of SIPEDULI, assess the quality of population data, and analyze collaborative governance dynamics in achieving a Single Source of Truth at the village level. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and document analysis. The analysis integrates perspectives on e-government effectiveness, data quality, collaborative governance, and New Public Service principles. The findings show that SIPEDULI has improved service accessibility and efficiency. However, its contribution to enhancing data validity remains limited due to weak system integration and insufficient coordination among stakeholders. Collaborative governance has not been fully institutionalized, and community participation in data updating is still largely administrative rather than substantive. These results imply that achieving a reliable Single Source of Truth requires stronger system integration, improved inter-organizational collaboration, and enhanced digital capacity at the village level. Additionally, reinforcing participatory and citizen-centered service principles is crucial to ensure sustainable data governance and higher data accuracy in public administration.

Abstract

Even though community resilience (CORE) has been studied extensively, scholars have offered different definitions of CORE. The majority of current measures and tools are unable to view CORE in its entirety. The relationship between district administration (DIA) and CORE has not been thoroughly examined in empirical research on CORE assessment methods. Understanding the relationship between several DIA features, including leadership tenure, staff retention, leadership competencies, leadership styles, and CORE measurement, is crucial given DIA’s impact on CORE indicators. This study explored the relationship between district administration leadership (DIAL) attributes and CORE levels. The survey was completed by 111 samples. District governors, deputy district governors, and head and deputy heads of office were included in the survey sample. SPSS was used to analyze the collected data using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Distributed leadership was positively correlated with CORE levels but negatively correlated with knowledge scores on the CARL. There was no statistically significant relationship between CORE levels and leadership tenure or declared disaster experience, although there was a weak-to-moderate negative association between CARL self-awareness ratings and CORE levels. When interpreting a holistic CORE assessment, DIAL and staff characteristics should be considered as custodians of community resources and resilience. Research on this subject should pay more attention to the relationship between distributed leadership and CORE.

Abstract

This study examines the increasing complexity of cybercrime in Indonesia, which is influenced not only by technological development but also by the interaction of individual, structural, and institutional factors in digital environments. The objective is to analyze criminological factors contributing to cybercrime and to examine law enforcement challenges from a cybercriminology perspective in Indonesia. This research uses a normative juridical method with a qualitative approach based on secondary data obtained from legal documents, scientific literature, and previous studies. Data were collected through a systematic literature review and document analysis. The findings show that cybercrime is driven by offender motivation and rationality, technological accessibility, anonymity, and opportunity structures in cyberspace. Law enforcement faces challenges such as difficulties in identifying perpetrators, limited digital forensic capacity, regulatory gaps, and jurisdictional constraints due to the transnational nature of cybercrime. This study contributes to cybercriminology by integrating criminological and legal perspectives into a unified analytical framework for understanding cybercrime as a multidimensional phenomenon. The implication is that effective cybercrime countermeasures require strengthening legal frameworks, institutional capacity, and technological readiness.

Abstract

The quality, cost-effectiveness and leadership responsiveness necessary for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) are affected by the lack of active leadership, stakeholder participation and staff commitment. Also, TVET Institutes are not very valuable and are not regarded by some Cambodians as a form of higher education, such as college or university education. In light of that, the primary purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of TVET Institute directors' servant leadership (S-LEA) style in promoting TVET teachers’ job commitment (J-COM) in Cambodia. To achieve the study’s purpose, the three research questions were developed at the levels of S-LEA style practice, teachers’ J-COM, and the influence of S-LEA style practices on teachers’ J-COM. The quantitative research approach and correlational study design were employed. A total of 225 TVET teachers from 8 TVET Institutes in Phnom Penh City participated in this study, using a simple random sample that provided all teachers an equal chance of selection through the [1] sample size determination procedure. The research data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using quantitative methods, including one-sample t-tests, correlation analyses, and simple linear regression. The research found that S-LEA practice and teachers’ J-COM were at moderate levels. It was also revealed that a significant correlation existed between TVET Institute directors’ S-LEA style and TVET teachers’ J-COM (r(225) = 0.77, p < 0.01). As a result, the regression model shows that S-LEA practices are a significant predictor of teachers’ J-COM (f(1,222) = 157.792, p<0.01). This study makes significant contributions both theoretically and practically. TVET Institutes offer a number of advantages to all Cambodians. As a national technical training program, TVET Institutes have performed a number of vital functions, including boosting the economy, benefiting the private sector, supporting the educational system, and fostering the development of both professional and personal traits.

Abstract

Post-divorce alimony remains a significant issue in Indonesian religious courts because formal legal recognition does not always ensure substantive protection for divorced women. This article examines how post-divorce alimony is determined in Indonesian religious courts and evaluates whether recent judicial reasoning remains consistent with maqashid al-sharia. The study focuses on Decision No. 291/Pdt.G/2021/MS.Str and compares it with two other religious court decisions. Using a normative juridical method, it combines statutory, case, and conceptual approaches. The analysis applies maqashid al-sharia, particularly hifzh al-nafs, hifzh al-mal, and hifzh al-nasl, as the main evaluative framework. The findings show that the principal decision relied heavily on mediation outcomes and awarded iddah maintenance of IDR 3,000,000 without an independent proportionality assessment. It also failed to explicitly award mut’ah despite a 39-year marriage and the existence of ten children. These findings indicate a shift from a normative-textual approach toward a pragmatic-mediative model. The article contributes theoretically by demonstrating the application of maqashid al-sharia in evaluating judicial reasoning. It highlights the policy need for stronger gender-sensitive adjudication, closer scrutiny of mediated settlements, and adaptive guidelines for post-divorce alimony in Indonesian religious courts.

Abstract

The quality of health services in Cambodia continues to face multiple challenges. Despite ongoing reforms, gaps remain in meeting the expectations of key stakeholders. The purposes of this study were threefold: (1) to find out the level of service quality practice; (2) to determine the relationship between health service quality and patient satisfaction; (3) to examine the effect of each dimension of service quality on patient satisfaction. A quantitative approach was adopted, with structured questionnaires used to collect data, with a reliability between 0.82 and 0.96. A total of 220 patients visiting 11 public hospitals across Cambodia participated in this study, which used a purposive sampling method. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS. The results showed that overall service quality practice was perceived at a high level (M = 4.22, S.D. = 0.60). Among all SERVPERF dimensions, empathy and assurance had the highest mean scores (4.26 and 4.25, respectively), followed by reliability, tangibles, and responsiveness. The results also showed that all dimensions are positively and significantly associated with patient satisfaction at the 0.01 level, with overall correlation coefficients ranging from r = 0.62 to r = 0.89. This finding provides empirical validation of the SERVPERF model in Cambodian public hospitals, with empathy and assurance as key dimensions for enhancing patient satisfaction. Policymakers and health educators working in Cambodia are given recommendations. The Ministry of Health and international health partners may find this study useful.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of social media has reshaped the landscape of Islamic da’wah in Indonesia, with algorithms playing an increasingly important role in the circulation of religious content. This exploratory qualitative study examines how platform algorithms influence the distribution of digital da’wah, how religious authority is renegotiated in online environments, and how Muslim users respond to algorithm-mediated religious messages. The study combines digital ethnography, social media content analysis, and an exploratory questionnaire involving seven active young social media users. The findings show that algorithms significantly shape the visibility of da’wah content and influence everyday encounters with religious messages. The study also identifies an authority paradox: although users continue to value preachers with strong religious education, the content they encounter most frequently is often determined by algorithmic visibility rather than scholarly depth. This situation produces a hybrid form of religious authority in which scholarship, communicative style, and platform performance increasingly intersect. Theoretically, this article contributes to digital religion studies by linking algorithmic mediation with the transformation of religious authority and audience reception. In practice, it highlights the need for credible digital da’wah that integrates scholarly rigor, Islamic communication ethics, and digital literacy in algorithm-driven environments.
