Abstract

An Noise occurring in a room can be reduced or dampened in intensity by installing composite boards on the walls. Composite board material is made from a mixture of resin and sugarcane bagasse fiber. Sugarcane bagasse is a by-product of sugarcane juice extraction, commonly found around sugar factories or as waste from sugarcane juice processing. The utilization of this bagasse as a mixture in composite boards with resin was carried out using board dimensions of 30 × 30 × 1 cm. The composition ratios between bagasse and resin were 60:40, 70:30, 75:25, and 80:20.Based on sound wave testing at frequencies of 250 Hz, 500 Hz, and 750 Hz, the best sound absorption performance was found at the 60:40 composition at a frequency of 750 Hz, where the initial sound intensity was 95.5 dB and was reduced by 62.8 dB. This result indicates a sound absorption coefficient of 0.408, which is relatively good. The lowest absorption was observed at the 80:20 composition with a coefficient of 0.0296 at a low frequency of 250 Hz. This phenomenon occurs because a higher resin content results in a denser structure that reduces sound absorption, whereas a higher fiber content leads to increased porosity, enhancing the composite's ability to absorb sound.

Abstract

The control and monitoring system for induction motor speed is widely used in industrial environments, specifically in the cable industry. The use of two working induction motors is for driving two extrusion machines that produce cables. Each machine operates according to a specific formula uploaded to the program. The main machine produces molten plastic in larger volumes, while the smaller machine applies coloring to the surface of the cable. However, the limited number of experts in this field often makes the industry experience difficulties when designing, modifying or when problems occur in the production machine control system program, so that foreign experts often have to be called in to handle it. To overcome this challenge, Educational Institutions need to prepare engineering students to be equipped with automation knowledge and practical experience through practical modules that enable them to design and implement HMI and PLC. This research aims to design a learning medium for industrial automation lab practice to enhance students' skills by mastering the concept of controlling two induction motors in the cable industry, where the motor speeds follow a formula similar to a linear equation uploaded to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) program.

Abstract

Each building must be built as best as possible to meet the feasible technical criteria in terms of quality, ethics, and aesthetics. In addition, the building must also meet the cost and administrative criteria for dormitory buildings and supporting facilities. The STAN Bintaro student dormitory building construction project consists of the lower structure (foundation), upper structure, and finishing work. In this practical work report, it focuses on one of the superstructure works, namely the work of the sliding wall or shear wall and the special purpose is to know the casting method of the shear wall in the construction project of the STAN Bintaro student dormitory building. Based on the results of observations during the practical work, the method in the implementation of the shear wall casting work itself starts from the determination of the axle, fabrication of reinforcement, installation of reinforcement, installation of formwork, casting, removal of formwork and then ends with shear wall maintenance. The data obtained regarding the dimensions of the shear wall in type SW2 is 5700 mm long with a thickness of 400 mm, for the reinforcement used, namely 6D16 reinforcement and D16-100 rebar. The quality of the concrete used is K-350. Future methods of casting implementation must continue to explore innovative solutions, such as the use of sophisticated materials and potimalized schemes, to further improve the performance of these structural components.

Abstract

The Bank Mandiri Pare-Pare Sulawesi flat construction project is scheduled to be completed within 43 weeks with a contract value of Rp. 17,117,245,280. With time and cost constraints, good and thorough control is needed. The purpose of this study is to determine the cost and time performance at the end of the project completion. The method used in this study is the Earned Value method, which combines cost, time, and physical work performance elements. Data obtained from the project include the project schedule, Cost Estimate (RAB), weekly project reports, and actual costs. An analysis of costs, schedules, variances, and performance indices was conducted, highlighting issues that arose during the study. The Project Schedule Performance Index (SPI) at the 39th week review was 1.076, indicating that the project was ahead of schedule. The Project Cost Performance Index (CPI) from week 30 to week 38 showed values below 1, indicating that project expenditures exceeded the budget due to suboptimal progress weighting, as purchased materials were still in transit to the project site and had not yet been counted as progress by the owner. while in week 39, the index began to rise above 1 because progress weighting has become optimal, as the ordered goods have arrived and are now being accounted for in progress.
