Abstract

Kampung Maribu is one of the 5 (five) villages included in the administrative area of the West Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. Based on the observations made, we found that the residents of Kampung Maribu do not yet have concrete data due to the lack of proper administrative management at the Kampung Office, both in terms of population data archiving and the absence of archives for reporting the use of village funds used to implement the village work program. Additionally, with the limited human resources working at the village office, there is a need to utilize technology in the form of a Village Information System. Therefore, the improvement of administrative management and technological understanding for the village community through the utilization of the Village Information System in Maribu Village, West Sentani District, Jayapura Regency needs to be carried out. The results obtained after the implementation of the Village Information System in Kampung Maribu are as follows: the level of understanding among the residents of Kampung Maribu has increased, as indicated by the questionnaire results showing an average increase in administrative service satisfaction by 70%. This is because SIMDES helps in archiving population records and correspondence documents more comprehensively and systematically. Because of the online nature of SIMDES, the system can be accessed from anywhere and at any time, so the community does not need to come to the Village Office to manage documents or report citizen complaints; they can simply access it through the portal and use the self-service features. The availability of the LAPAK page on SIMDES helps residents who want to promote the processed products they have made. The active use of SIMDES as a news information portal has been carried out by village officials or activities conducted by the relevant Department.

Abstract

Dependence on conditional cash social assistance programs from the government is a classic problem and needs to be avoided by increasing the capacity of beneficiary families. The activity of strengthening the capacity of PKH KPM in utilizing family development sessions aims to improve understanding, knowledge, and skills about financial management and family independent businesses, in Sereh village, Sentani district, Jayapura regency. The implementation method includes brainstorming, counseling, group discussions, documentation and evaluation. The results of the implementation of the activity explain that family capacity focuses on finances and work motivation. Sustainable family financial and business management has minimal information and training, after counseling, families prioritize needs, namely the needs of school children, business capital, family social costs, and savings. However, aspects of family commitment and openness to business management are factors that influence family capacity. Collaboration between academics, PKH assistance, and PKH independent families is needed so that beneficiary families are confident in the commitment of the business being developed so that they avoid the acute poverty zone.

Abstract

Banana is a popular crop that can grow in almost all types of agroecosystems. Banana fruit can be used as an alternative staple food because it contains high carbohydrates, so it can replace some of the consumption of rice and wheat. For the Sentani people, the banana plant has an important cultural value. Apart from being consumed and sold in the market, local bananas are often used as a means of payment for dowries. The people of Yahim Village in Sentani District recognize five local banana varieties, namely: Kheja, Hoyombi, Ratake, Ramaohulu, Habili, Ebulu, Molonsi, and Ramehaye. The objectives of this service activity are: to introduce local banana-based processed food products that have high selling value to the people of Yahim Village and to train mothers and young women to process various types of processed food products made from local Sentani bananas in Yahim Village, Sentani District. The service method used in this training consists of three stages, namely preparation, consultation, short practice, mentoring and evaluation. The results and achievements of this service activity are that the women in Yahim village can produce banana doughnuts, banana sticks and banana chips. Then they can package these products in creative and innovative packaging. The results of the activity evaluation showed that 85% of the participants could understand and absorb the training materials, 90% of the participants were skilled in processing local Sentani bananas, and 90% of the participants stated that this service activity was very useful.

Abstract

Children's ability to read, write and count (calistung) can be said to be very important in life, because the teaching and learning process or activity is based on reading ability. To support learning and to know the growth and development of children, teachers and parents should know the right method or way to teach children to read, write and count. One method or way to develop it is through educational game tools (APE). First grade students at SD Inpres Kehiran have quite low learning abilities. This can be seen from almost 60% of students still having difficulty reading, writing and counting and is indicated by the scores obtained which are still below the Minimum Completion Criteria that have been set. To help teachers and students at SD Inpres Kehiran in understanding reading, writing and counting, our Community Service Team (PKM) aims to introduce the use of simple educational game tools (APE) made from used materials, namely through letter cards, drink bottle caps, and objects around the school or around the student's residential environment. By using learning media through educational game tools, the effectiveness of the learning method is evaluated and the level of student participation is measured. The stages carried out in the implementation of this community service activity start from planning, namely by coordinating with the school and asking permission from the leader (Dean), then the implementation stage starts from preparing materials, tools and materials, training and mentoring and finally the reporting stage, namely making a final report and making publications. The methods used to support the success of this program are in the form of training, demonstrations and practice questions. The implementation of this Community Service has not fully achieved the expected targets and outputs, but this activity has made a positive contribution to students in terms of recognizing letters, spelling, reading and simple arithmetic.

Abstract

Bullying is unpleasant behavior whether verbal, physical or social, whether it occurs in cyberspace or in everyday social environments. Bullying can occur at work, at school or on campus and among friends. The consequences of this bullying are that the victim will feel insecure and uncomfortable, feel hurt and depressed. Usually bullying is carried out by individuals or in groups. Perpetrators carry out bullying to hurt other people physically or emotionally, and find a sense of satisfaction when they have bullied their victims Meanwhile, victims of bullying are generally those who look weak and different from their environment, for example physical differences such as skin color, hair shape, body size, and also non-physical differences such as the way a person dresses, the way they speak. Bullying can happen to anyone, and without us realizing it, even school environments that are considered safe are places where bullying occurs most often. Legal education on "Prevention of Bullying of Children in the School Environment" is held in several schools in Jayapura City. This education is carried out to provide an overview and understanding of how we can prevent bullying behavior in the school environment. This legal education is carried out with the aim of knowing the meaning of bullying, the forms of bullying and also to find out the criminal sanctions that can be given to perpetrators of bullying. We hope this activity can provide benefits for students or teenagers as an effort to prevent bullying behavior in the school environment and can become a reference for similar outreach in the future.

Abstract

Cinnamomum burmannii is a leading Indonesian commodity in global trade. The part of the cinnamon plant that has not been fully utilized is the leaves. Cinnamon leaves can be used as a prospective product, namely essential oils that can be used as base notes in making perfume. Essential oil processing can be done simply by the steam distillation method. However, many people still do not know how to process essential oils properly. This Community Service (PKM) activity is a form of knowledge transfer by the implementing team from the Chemistry Department of Cenderawasih University to students of SMAIT Insan Cendikia Jayapura regarding the manufacture of perfume from essential oils made from cinnamon leaves. The activity was carried out on June 4, 2025. The methods used in this service included an initial survey, implementation of activities including counseling and demonstrations, and activity evaluation. During this activity, a simple distillation unit was also handed over to the school, as a provision for students to practice the material that had been given in the hope of improving students' skills in processing essential oils. The results achieved in this activity showed that students were very enthusiastic, active, and interactive in absorbing knowledge. Based on the evaluation results (initial test and final test) showed a significant increase to 93% after participating in this activity.
