Abstract

The need for packaging is currently increasing, providing opportunities for the development of the packaging printing industry, especially offset printing-based printing. This study aims to analyze the flow of the production process in the offset printing industry that produces packaging. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the running of the production process which consists of pre-print, print, and post-print. The results showed that the results of the packaging printing production process at each stage were strongly influenced by the previous stage.

Abstract

Bridge has a structural load from above which is supported by the foundation. The foundation has an important role to holding the load from the superstructure. Therefore, planning the foundation, the bearing capacity must be taken into account so the foundation should withstand the load. In the Bengkulu – Taba Penanjung toll access road construction project, bored piles are used. To determine the bearing capacity of the foundation, NSPT soil data is needed for analysis needs. Based on the results of the bearing capacity analysis, the value of 382 tons with the Reese & Wright method and 349 tons with the Skempton method at a depth of 14 m was obtained. With a 7 x 2 pile configuration, an average efficiency value of 85% is obtained. With this efficiency value, the group pile bearing capacity is 4538,22 tons (Reese & Wright) and 4147,47 tons (Skempton). With the group's pile bearing capacity, the pile is considered capable of withstanding the axial load of the superstructure of 2391.21 tons. The amount of immediate settlement that occurs in a single pile is 13.72 mm using the Vesic method (1977). This reduction is safe where the settlement limit is 65 mm according to Skempton and Mc Donald. Because the dominant soil is clay, the value of the decrease in primary consolidation that occurs is 5 mm. Thus, the drill pile foundation with a length of 14 meters and a total of 14 piles with a configuration of 7 x 2 piles can be said to be feasible and can withstand the axial load transmitted to the drill pile foundation.

Abstract

Sedimentation is the separation between solids and solutions with the force of gravity. To improve the performance and efficiency of sedimentation tanks, it can be done by adding a device, namely pseudo base, plate settler, or tube settler. The purpose of this study is to modify rectangular sedimentation zones with plate settlers and tube settlers in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and analyze the flow that occurs in the sedimentation zone by examining Reynold numbers (NRE) and Froude numbers (NFR). To achieve this goal, the authors conducted field observations on the sedimentation unit in the Industrial Water Treatment Plant and "X" residential area of Bekasi Regency. The results obtained are the optimal type of tube settler, hexagon cross section tube settler using the height of the tube settler (Htube) 2.5 meters, the slope angle of the tube settler (α) 30°, and the diameter of the tube settler (w) 0.05 meters. Increased discharge from the initial capacity of 170 lps to 510 lps resulted in changes in flow conditions that occur. Changes in flow from turbulent to laminer are indicated by changes in Reynold numbers (NRE) from over 2000 to less than 2000, and Froude (NFR) numbers have met the design criteria of less than 10-5. The investment cost for adding a tube settler is Rp. 760,000,000.00 with a return on investment or a Payback Period (PP) for 8,38 years. The Reynold number (NRE) indicates the type of flow that occurs is laminer, transition, or turbulent. While the Froude number (NFR) indicates the type of flow whether a short flow occurs or not. For field application, the tube settler that can be used is to consider the height aspect of the tube settler (Htube), the slope angle of the tube settler (α), and the diameter of the tube settler (w), and the type of cross section of the tube settler

Abstract

Abstract The jacket platform type offshore building structure is a building that is often used for oil and gas exploitation activities, environmental loads such as wave loads that occur continuously can cause the offshore building structure to experience fatigue. Tubular joints are areas that often experience fatigue or cracking due to stress concentrations that occur in the tubular joints. This research was conducted to find out and calculate the greatest stress points that occur in tubular joints for the T-brace model. The results showed that the hotspot stresses occurred in the elements in the welding area of the joints with a working stress value of 1577.3 Mpa and a value for calculating N integration of 12704.87. Abstract

Packaging design as a food container as well as brand identity, has a big influence on its users. Packaging is designed based on the needs and preferences of the target market or users in order to represent the product and fulfill the functionality of the packaging. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design a representative packaging design so that it can be used as a food container with features that make it easy for the user and have a good impact on the environment. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with design stages starting from idea preparation to prototype testing. The test results of the structural design and surface design elements of the packaging are analyzed to obtain a final conclusion regarding the suitability and usability of the product and its users. The results of the study show that functional packaging is a box-shaped package so that it can be easily stored when the user cannot finish his food. Besides that, the selection of illustrations for the atmosphere while eating can also represent the type of food and the interactions that occur when eating using the box packaging design.

Abstract

Honing is a method for finishing in manufacturing industries. For the finishing process, a long process would be the challenge. One of the parameters that affected the time of process is volume removal from the surface of the product. The experiment to increase volume removal used several abrasive materials like sandpapers, alumina stone, white alumina stone, and diamond. The quality of the product was determined by the roughness of the surface. The result of this experiment was that the honing process with diamond and white alumina stone had the best volume removal compared to basic honing. The volume removal was raised up to 3 times. The volume removal was 127 mm3/minutes and increased to 344 mm3/minutes for diamond and 382 mm3/minutes for white alumina grinder cup. Quality of surface from honing process with diamond was as good as basic honing with the value of 0.2 µm for basic honing and 0.7 µm for diamond and white alumina has surface roughness much higher than basic honing with the value of 3.2 µm

Abstract

Solar panels have been widely used to determine solar energy as an electrical energy generator. However, the installation of solar panels is still static, so it cannot follow the sun's movement optimally. Solar panels with dual-axis tracking have a wide range in the tracking process. The range that can be tracked by dual-axis tracking is azimuth angle and altitude, while single-axis tracking can only choose one side of the angle. In this study, the initial design of the dual-axis solar tracking system was made with cameras and cooling systems combined with heatsinks and tubular pipes. The design made is in the form of a CAD design using SolidWorks software, and the design made will be used for subsequent research, In this solar panel, the fill factor results are 0.634, and the efficiency of solar panels is 17.53% with the addition of a cooling system which can reduce the temperature of solar panels is expected to be higher efficiency. The study results were obtained in the design of a solar tracker with the addition of a cooling system that will later reduce the temperature and increase the efficiency of solar panel about 0.38% every 1℃ decreases of temperature.

Abstract

Abstract After area autonomy prevailed, local governments in South Sumatra and Lampung are impressed to have high enough sector tendency in handling highway network. Every local government not only in sub-province/city but also in province, develops, improves and protects the highway network which is his/her authority. Province government has authority of province road, and sub-province/city government has authority of sub-province/city road, so that sometimes, the agreement in the planning of highway network system can not be reached. The purpose of this research is to formulate the models of coordinate handling road between region which is appropriate for the condition in Indonesia. The method that is used in this research is reexamination about road management which is evaluated from 3 aspects that is, institutional aspect, financing aspect, and regulation aspect. These three aspects are correlated with area autonomy, so that the model of handling road coordination can be designed. The result and the conclusion from this research are in the form of coordinating model, such as: Top-down Principal Agency System. In this system, the planning and the developing (executing) of road which are based on master plan and financing, become center government’s responsibility through APBN or province government’s APBD, while local government is supporter. The type of road which is managed in this system is National road or Province road. Bottom-Up Principal Agency System. This system can be done if the local government has high financial, so that the local government has a role as the owner and financier, while the center government is just as sponsor through APBN. The type of road which is managed in this system is province road and sub-province road. Keywords : local government, province government, institutional aspect, financing aspect, regulation aspect.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pada era informasi ini perusahaan jasa konstruksi telah menyadari pentingnya peran teknologi informasi dalam menunjang proses bisnis konstruksi, yang mana pada saat ini diharuskan menunjukkan kualitas pekerjaan yang sesuai spesifikasi, baik teknis maupun administrasi. Demikian pula efisiensi biaya, metode dan waktu pelaksanaan pekerjaan konstruksi sangat mewarnai persaingan, dalam bidang industri konstruksi yang trennya semakin menunjukkan peningkatan seiring dengan berjalannya waktu. Disisi lain pemilik proyek konstruksi sangat ketat jadual penyerahan pekerjaan, karena bangunan tersebut sudah akan dimanfaatkan, utamanya jika bangunan tersebut diperuntukkan senbagai fasilitas umum. Untuk menjawab permasalahan seperti yang dimaksud tadi maka perusahaan industri konstruksi melakukan investasi dalam bidang teknologi informasi, dengan harapan untuk memenuhi permintaan klien untuk melakukan pekerjaan teknik yang lebih efisien, pengelolaan progres pekerjaan, disamping mutu, waktu dan biaya pelaksanaan pekerjaan dari setiap tahapan pekerjaan yang harus dilaporkan tepat waktu. Investasi teknologi informasi oleh perusahaan industri konstruksi harus diimbangi dengan penyiapan sumberdaya manusia perusahaan yang dapat mengoperasikan teknologi informasi tersebut sebagai sarana komunikasi antara klien, dan konsultan manajemen konstruksi, dalam masa pelaksanaan sampai penyerahan proyek. Abstract

Abstrak Pemanfaatan sampah kantong plastik yang telah didaur ulang pada penelitian sebelumnya digunakan untuk pengganti bahan agregat kasar pada beton plastik (Betik) dilanjutkan pada penelitian ini. Betik dengan bahan dasar semen, pasir, dan agregat plastik dilanjutkan pada penelitian ini dalam aplikasi prototype paving block dan kanstin. Pengujian laboratorium pada sampel paving blok dan kanstin dari Betik dapat diketahui berat isi rata-rata sebesar 72% dari berat beton normal, atau lebih ringan sebesar 28% dari beton normal. Dan diketahui Kekuatan Tekan Karakteristik sebesar 120,20 kg/cm2 atau 96,16% mendekati kekuatan beton normal K125, hal ini cukup bagus untuk konstruksi nonstruktur. Campur dan perbandingan volume bahan untuk pembuatan paving blok terdiri dari: Bahan Paving Betik adalah 1 bagian semen, 2,5 bagian pasir, 1,25 bagian klingker plastik kemudian dicampur dengan air ¼ bagian air dan untuk kanstin terdiri dari bahan: 1 bagian semen, 3 bagian pasir, 2 bagian klingker plastik kemudian dicampur dengan air 3 bagian air. Berat isi dan kuat tekan karakteristik Paving dan Kanstin Betik sangat tergantung dari komposisi banyaknya klingker plastik serta bahan campuran yang lain. Untuk mencukupi kebutuhan agregat plastik dalam penelitian ini dibuatkan rancang bangun dan pembuatan prototype mesin daur ulang sampah kantong plastik yang dapat memproduksi agregat plastik yang mempunyai diametr kurang lebih 2 cm. Mesin dibuat dengan sistim pemanasan tabung tempat pengisian sampah kantong plastik secara konstan dengan heater bertemperatur 250 derajat celcius. Hasil dari penelitian mesin ini masih belum berhasil. Harapan dari penelitian lanjutan ini untuk mendapatkan bahan alternative dari daur ulang sampah plastik menjadi komoditi bahan bangunan murah, aman, bagus dan mudah dibuat oleh masyarakat. Dan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dilanjutkan agar ditemukan mutu Betik yang dapat digunakan untuk beton struktur. Kata Kunci: beton plastik, agregat plastik, daur ulang
