Abstract

Entering the third year, the trend of COVID-19 cases has again increased. Sourced from the WHO page, the total confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Indonesia until November was 6,582,291 cases (WHO, 2022). The purpose of this study was to see an overview of thoughts and feelings, personal references, human resources, and the culture of Palu City regarding implementing the COVID-19 protocol. The research method used a qualitative type with the technique of determining the informant was Purposive Sampling with the criteria such as age 18-40 years, domiciled in the West Palu District area, and willingness to become an informant. The number of informants was 23 regular informants, 1 key informant, and 1 additional informant. Data validation used source triangulation, and analysis used content analysis. The study showed that thoughts and feelings play a major role in COVID-19 prevention behavior; when cases soar high, the protocol was carried out as recommended, but when entering the new normal, it seems that it has begun to experience relaxation. Even though cases have increased, the COVID-19 protocol has not been appropriately implemented. Personal references, such as the role of the task force chairperson, community leaders, and youth leaders, provide examples and motivation to the community. Resources in the form of the role of health workers and adequate facilities at a time when cases are increasing but slowly decreasing, and even handwashing facilities were no longer found at this time. The specific culture was not seen in this study

Abstract

Hypertension is the result of measuring systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg carried out twice with an interval of five minutes in a calm state with provisions for someone aged ≥ 18 years. Nutritional status is one of the factors that can increase a person's risk of hypertension. Someone who is overweight tends to experience hypertension because being overweight will affect a person's physiology, namely insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. The purpose of this study was to determine sodium intake and nutritional status in hypertensive patients at Hative Hospital, Passo. This research method is quantitative using a descriptive approach with a sample of 8 people. The number of outpatient visits of hypertensive patients without complications during May at the hospital was only 8 people. Data collection used a research instrument in the form of a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ-SQ), as well as determining nutritional status by measuring body mass index (BMI). Data analysis technique using univariate analysis. Sodium intake of patients is categorized as grade I hypertension which is recommended for 3 (100%), grade II hypertension is recommended for 3 people (75%), 1 person (25%) is not recommended and grade III hypertension is not recommended 1 person (100%). Patients often consumed junk food with high sodium, resulting in an increase in blood volume and nutritional status caused by calorie intake, lack of physical activity, and other disease disorders

Abstract

Kratom is one of the export commodities from West Kalimantan, containing alkaloids that are beneficial to health. The export product currently in demand is extracted flour. So far, the most widely used extraction method is conventional single extraction, using maceration which is inefficient, long and consumes a lot of solvents. This study examined the process of alkaloid extraction using the technology of drying with a microwave and extraction using a sonicator. The study aimed to determine the microwave drying method which produces kratom leaf alkaloid levels and the type of solvent which produces the strongest IC-50 antioxidant properties from the bath-type sonicator multilevel extraction method. The research method was divided into 2 stages, namely, stage 1 drying with 2 ingredients, kratom leaves with veins and without veins, then tested for alkaloid levels. The leaves material with high alkaloids was continued for phase II of the IC-50 antioxidant property test from various solvents (hexane, methanol, ethanol) using multilevel extraction with a bath-type sonicator. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. The results showed that leaves without veins produced relatively higher levels of alkaloids than leaves with veins. The type of burner that produced IC-50 antioxidant activity was 0.3 ppm ethanol extract. Thus, these results can be a recommendation to stakeholders

Abstract

This study aims to explore the mental health of bullying victims at SDN 3 Palu. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The research informants were 9 people based on purposive sampling technique. Data management using matrix techniques. The results showed that physical and non-physical bullying experienced by the victim caused thoughts of a negative self-concept, thoughts of hatred towards the perpetrator, and delusions/hallucinations due to trauma, so that the victim felt a threat. Conflict motives and control are carried out by communicating the events experienced, avoiding the perpetrator, and tend to remain silent when experiencing bullying, the victim feels unable to solve the problem on his own. Informants have less social interaction because their friendship is unhappy and do not feel calm when they are at school even though they have received support from their closest people. The emotions possessed by the informants were in the form of frequent crying, anger, and fear for no apparent reason as well as thinking disorders that disrupted daily activities. The advice given is that the school and parents should give attention and in-depth guidance to victims and perpetrators of bullying, present an anti-bullying program, and examine variable aspects from the point of view of teachers and perpetrators
