Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry faces highly complex warehouse operations due to stringent regulatory requirements, product quality standards, and supply chain efficiency demands. Lean warehousing has been widely adopted to eliminate waste and improve warehouse operational performance. However, the growing body of research in this field has not been accompanied by a comprehensive scientific mapping, resulting in limited understanding of research trends and knowledge gaps. This study aims to map publication trends, intellectual structures, and research gaps in lean warehousing within pharmaceutical supply chains. A bibliometric approach was employed using Scopus-indexed articles published between 2015 and 2025, selected through the PRISMA protocol. A total of 34 articles were analyzed using VOSviewer through network, overlay, and density visualizations. The results indicate that this field remains an emerging research area characterized by three major thematic clusters: pharmaceutical warehouse operations management, pharmaceutical service quality management, and information system-based lean implementation. Research gaps were identified in key performance indicators, warehouse information systems, and warehouse resource optimization, which present promising directions for future studies.

Abstract

PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama is a company engaged in the construction and manufacturing sectors. One of its ongoing projects is the construction development project of PT. Bumi Mineral Sulawesi. The problem faced by the company is the shortage of cement inventory due to inventory control practices that rely solely on estimations without proper planning. This condition caused the construction process to come to a complete halt in October, November, and December because the cement demand from construction workers could not be fulfilled, resulting in potential losses as the company's operational activities were entirely suspended. This study employed a prescriptive research design with a quantitative approach. The research analyzed data by describing the existing inventory control practices implemented by the company based on collected data. The objective of this study was to optimize cement inventory control at PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama in the construction project of PT. Bumi Mineral Sulawesi using the Min-Max Stock method. The results of the analysis using the Min-Max Stock method showed that the optimal inventory parameters consisted of a safety stock of 240 bags, a minimum inventory level of 332 bags, a maximum inventory level of 424 bags, an order quantity of 185 bags, a reorder point of 332 bags, and an ordering frequency of 30 orders. These results indicate that cement inventory can be effectively controlled through the implementation of the Min-Max Stock method, thereby reducing the risk of stock shortages and supporting the continuity of construction activities

Abstract

The manufacturing industry in Indonesia continues to face warehouse operational inefficiencies that contribute to prolonged lead times and disrupted material flows. This study aims to identify research characteristics and lean warehousing implementation practices, analyze dominant types of waste, and evaluate their impact on lead time reduction. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted on seven eligible articles, complemented by bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer based on keyword co-occurrence. The findings indicate that value stream mapping (VSM), process activity mapping (PAM), and fishbone diagram are the most frequently applied tools. Waiting, transportation, and overprocessing were identified as the dominant wastes across all reviewed studies. Bibliometric analysis reveals that the keywords lead time and warehouses exhibit the highest connectivity and density, indicating their central role in the research landscape. Consistent implementation of lean warehousing proved to be significantly and positively effective in improving time efficiency, with an average lead time reduction percentage of 15.8%, ranging from 4.5% to 32.5%. These findings demonstrate that lean warehousing is an effective approach to improving warehouse operational efficiency in the manufacturing sector

Abstract

Lampung Province has great potential in developing horticultural commodities, particularly chili (Capsicum frutescens L.), which is a strategic commodity for farmers’ livelihoods and national food price stability. However, chili production in Lampung often fluctuates due to seasonal factors, climate change, pest attacks, limited farmer capital, and market conditions. This study aims to forecast chili production in Lampung Province using POM-QM software with the Linear Regression method based on historical production data from 2020–2023 obtained from BPS. The data were processed using POM-QM version 5 to predict production for the 2024–2027 period. The results indicate that the most appropriate forecasting method for predicting cayenne pepper production in Lampung Province was Linier Regression, as it produced the lowest Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) values, namely 1,192.25 and 9.76%, respectively. The linear regression model obtained was y = 1080.9x – 2E+06, with a coefficient of determination R2 of 0.7503, indicating that the model adequately explained the variation in production data. Based on this model, the forecasted cayenne pepper production in 2027 is 12,488

Abstract

One of the ceramic manufacturing companies in East Java has not yet optimized the layout of its Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) office facility, resulting in inefficient coordination, document flow, and supervision among personnel. This study aims to develop a proposed facility layout for the PPIC office by integrating the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), and Space Relationship Diagram (SRD) methods. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through direct observation and interviews. Eight work areas were identified: the Manager’s Desk, Head of Department’s Desk, Assistant Manager’s Desk, Staff Work Area, Raw Material Document Warehouse, Finished Goods Document Warehouse, Staff Document Cabinet, and Meeting Table. Space requirements were calculated by adding a 10% allowance and multiplying by an ASLE factor of 2.1, yielding a total actual space requirement of 554,862 cm² (55.49 m²). The ARC analysis identified the Staff Work Area as the node with the highest connectivity. The proposed layout resulting from the ARD and SRD integration is expected to improve coordination, supervision, communication, and document flow within the PPIC office. It is concluded that the integration of ARC, ARD, and SRD is effective as a basis for designing a more efficient PPIC office facility layout.

Abstract

The word desk used at the Jakarta Intercultural Schol Aquatic were found to be ergonomically inadequate, resulting in reduced comfort during teaching activities. A questionnaire survey involving 41 teachers revealed that all respondents considered the existing desks uncomfortable. The most frequently reported musculoskeletal complaints were lower back pain (68%), leg discomfort (54%), and hand discomfort (29%). This study aimed to redesign the teachers' work desk using an integrated Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and New Product Development (NPD) approach supported by anthropometric data. QFD was employed to identify and prioritize user requirements through the House of Quality (HoQ), while NPD was applied to the stages of concept development, product specification, and prototype design based on the prioritized customer needs. The results indicated that the highest-priority requirements included a wider work surface, a drawer, a bag storage compartment, a stationery holder, and an easily accessible electrical outlet. Anthropometric analysis produced the main desk dimensions of 74 cm in height, 80 cm in length, and 60.31cm in width. The proposed ergonomic desk design is expected to improve teachers' comfort, reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, and serve as a practical reference for developing ergonomic workplace facilities in educational institutions

Abstract

Teluk Bayur Port faces challenges of uncertainty and extreme fluctuations in general cargo volume. These fluctuations complicate the allocation of port facility resources and operational equipment. A comparison of forecasting methods was conducted to determine the best model for predicting cargo flow. The forecasting methods used were the Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) and Prophet. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed by analyzing monthly time series data from January 2023 to December 2025. The analysis results indicated that the data exhibited an upward trend and multiplicative seasonal characteristics. Model testing proved that the Prophet method with multiplicative seasonal adjustment provided superior accuracy compared to the SARIMA model ARIMA(2,1,2)(0,1,0)12. The MAPE error rate of the Prophet model reached 15.71% (classified as good), outperforming the SARIMA model at 24.48% (classified as reasonable). Furthermore, Prophet demonstrated better performance with an RMSE value of 1,682.66 tons and a MASE of 0.30. The Moving Range control chart test also confirmed the validity and stability of the prediction results for the Prophet method. The Prophet method proved to be more adaptive and stable in handling cargo flow fluctuations. This research fills the gap in port forecasting studies, which are generally dominated by container cargo, by applying algorithms to the dynamics of general cargo to create a tactical planning instrument for the management of Teluk Bayur Port.
