Abstract

Hospital Pharmacy Installation (IFRS) is a function implementing unit that organizes all pharmaceutical service activities in hospitals (Permenkes, 2016). Hospital pharmacy services are one of the activities in hospitals that support quality health services. This is clarified in the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Health Number: 1333/Menkes/SK/XII/1999 concerning Hospital Service Standards, stating that hospital pharmacy services are an inseparable part of the hospital health care system that is patient-oriented, providing medicines, including clinical pharmacy services, which are affordable for all levels of society. This study aims to determine the need for health workers by calculating the ideal number of pharmacists based on the workload at the Hospital Royal Prima . This research is qualitative research using observation techniques, interview guidelines and document review. This study uses research informants where the informants used are the head pharmacist and pharmacist. Data analysis is the process of systematically searching and compiling data obtained from the results of field observations (work sampling), in-depth interviews and document reviews. From the results of research conducted that pharmaceutical workers use 85.3% of their working time with productive activities. Of the productive activities as much as 40.2% are direct productive activities while the rest are indirect productive activities, and as much as 23.8% of indirect productive activities are administrative activities, because in this study 8.7% were obtained as nonproductiveactivities and personal activities with the results of work sampling with the WINS method, it turns out that the number of pharmacists installed at the Hospital Royal Prima Marelan is smaller than the need for pharmaceutical workers installed at the Hospital Royal Prima Marelan.

Abstract

The incision is a condition of tissue discontinuity that is commonly encountered with the risk of prolonged healing time, imperfect wound healing, infection, etc. Assessment of the wound healing activity of the incision is the purpose of this research, which includes an examination of wound contraction, the thickness of collagen fibers, and the number of new blood vessels formation. In total, 25 rats will be divided into 5 test groups, each consisting of 5 rats; the control group (cream base treated), standard group (Povidone Iodine), followed by the treated group with 10%, 20%, and 30% pandan leaf extract ointment. The preliminary screening of phytochemical analysisshowed the presence of alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids, and steroids and glycosides, with the total content of phenols and flavonoids from the ethanolic extract of Pandan Wangi is 20.95 GAE mg/gram extract, and 23.57 TAE mg/gram extract. Wound contraction examination result showed a significant difference between the treatment groups on day 16 and a sign the pairs of groups after being given the ointment with each concentration (p <0.05), especially in the group with 30% fragrant leaves extract and the standard group. Examination of new blood vessels showed a significant difference (p <0.05), especially with 30% of the leaves extract ointment. There was also a significant difference in collagen density in the group given pandanus ethanol ointment, especially at the 30% pandanus extract content against the group that was only given the ointment base. This research strongly suggests that the fragrant pandan leaf extract ointment is effective in healing incisional wounds and promises the potential for further studies on the pharmacological aspects.

Abstract

Utilization of bioavailability according to World Health Organization (WHO) records is very large, it is estimated that almost 80% of mankind, especially in developing countries, still use plants as medicinal ingredients to maintain their health (Nugraheni, 2007). Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) which belongs to the Rutaceae tribe which is one of the plants known to the Batak community, is classified as a wild plant and is a typical plant of Province North Sumatra. The method used in this research is experimental research. The research included collecting and processing andaliman fruit, making simplicia, making ethanol extracts, and examining antioxidant activity tests using the DPPH free radical scavenging method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) and antibacterial activity using the minimum inhibitory concentration method. The results of the antibacterial activity test of the ethanolic extract of andaliman fruit showed that the extract had antibacterial activity in the moderate category at a concentration of 300 mg/ml with an inhibition zone of 10.17 mm for Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and a moderate category for Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria with an inhibition zone of 10.80 mm. The ethanol extract of andaliman fruit can inhibit Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, effective at a concentration of 300 mg/ml with inhibitory diameters of 10.17 mm and 10.80 mm, respectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze clinical outcomes related to direct medical cost and the pattern of drug therapy. This was an analytical observational study with retrospective and concurrent data through observation from the perspective of the hospital. A total of 42 stroke ischaemic patients were enrolled in this study. Data were collected with a period of 1 year after the first stroke occurrence, which began on May 15th, 2019 until June 15th, 2020. Data sources used in this study include medical records, financial data, and drug data from pharmacies. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskal-Wallis test. This study findings showed the highest sociodemographic data on age 41-70 years (54,76%), male (59,52%), length of stay of 5-10 days (66,60%), comorbid of hypertension (88,10%), complication of urinary tract infection (19,05%), CCI 3-5 (85,71%), condition at hospital admission of hemiparesis (83,72%), and Antiplatelet drug therapy (90,48%). Clinical outcomes of disability mostly occurred in males (59,52%), age 41-70 years (54,76%), and length of stay of 5-10 days (66,67%). There were 48 events of clinical outcomeincluding 14,29% recurrent stroke and disability (n=6), 100% disability (n=42) and no mortality (n=0). Recurrent stroke and disability were not associated with a direct medical cost per year, neither inpatient nor outpatient cost. This might be due to the severity of stroke at the hospital admission which not be considered in this study. In conclusion, this study’s findings could be used as consideration in the determination of health policy, health insurance, and data source for pharmacoeconomic.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is one of the 10 most common causes of death and is the single most common cause of infection and causes illness every year in millions of people. The etiology of tuberculosis is the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium bovis. These germs have a size of 0.5-4 microns x 0.3-0.6 microns with thin rods, straight or slightly bent, granular or have no sheath, but have a thick outer layer consisting of lipoids (especially mycolic acid). Based on data from the Riset Kesehatan Dasar in 2018 conducted by the Kementerian Kesehatan RI, the prevalence rate of pulmonary TB by doctors in Indonesia in 2018 was the same as in 2013 which was 0.4%. Based on the OAT guidelines used in Indonesia, there are two OAT drug preparations, namely OAT-KDT or (FDC) and the Kombipak package. Comparison of the efficacy of this drug in curing pulmonary TB also varies. Objective: To determine the efficacy of KDT-OAT and removal preparations on the cure rate of pulmonary TB. Methods: This type of research is a retrospective cohort study, which is a time-period approach. This study was conducted in October-November 2020. Results: There was no significant difference in treatment outcomes in pulmonary TB patients who received OAT-KDT or OAT-release preparations.
