Abstract

Reading comprehension is a fundamental literacy skill that enables students to understand, interpret, and construct meaning from written texts. This study aimed to examine the effect of Webtoon media on the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Sumber. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 48 fifth-grade students, including 24 students in the experimental class and 24 students in the control class. Data were collected through a reading comprehension test and a student response questionnaire and were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test because the data were not entirely normally distributed. The results revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups after the intervention (p = 0.002). Furthermore, the medium effect size (r = 0.455) indicates that the implementation of Webtoon produced a meaningful educational effect on students' reading comprehension skills. Students also showed positive responses toward the use of Webtoon, with an overall response rate of 80.44%, categorized as good. These findings indicate that Webtoon is an effective instructional medium for improving elementary students' reading comprehension skills and can be considered an alternative digital medium to support literacy instruction in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an animated video about the human digestive system integrated with healthy eating education to improve elementary school students’ conceptual understanding and awareness of healthy eating habits. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research involved 26 fifth-grade students at SDN Tegallega 2 Bogor. The product was a 6–7 minutes animated video developed using Canva, combining narration, illustrations, animation, and audiovisual elements to explain digestive processes while promoting balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments and analyzed using descriptive qualitative, percentage, and N-Gain analyses. Media, language, and material expert validations obtained 91%, 100%, and 92%, respectively, while teacher and student responses reached 89% and 90%. The average score increased from 65 to 92 with an N-Gain of 0.79 (high). Student responses indicated better understanding of healthy food choices after using the media. These findings indicate that the animated video effectively improved conceptual understanding while supporting healthy eating awareness.

Abstract

Learning attention is an important component of effective elementary learning, particularly when students study concepts that are difficult to observe directly. In fourth-grade IPAS learning at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15, instruction was still dominated by teacher explanations and limited use of interactive media. This study aimed to examine the relationship between the use of Smart Board learning media (PAWITA) and students’ learning attention on changes in the states of matter. A quantitative correlational design was used with 31 fourth-grade students from Class IV B, which was selected through a random draw from two parallel classes, Class IV A and Class IV B. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring students’ perceptions of PAWITA and their learning attention, supported by documentation. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, linearity testing, and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed that both variables were normally distributed and had a linear relationship. The Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis produced a coefficient of 0.616 with a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a strong and statistically significant positive relationship. Thus, the use of PAWITA was associated with higher levels of students’ learning attention. PAWITA can be considered an alternative visual and interactive instructional medium for supporting student engagement in learning about changes in the states of matter.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics students in grade IV of SD Inpres 3 Tondo through the application of the Quantum Teaching learning model. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The research subjects amounted to 34 grade IV students of SD Inpres 3 Tondo. Data collection techniques are carried out through tests, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes in each cycle. In the pre-action stage, the average score of students was 45.74 with classical learning completeness of 5.9%. After the application of the Quantum Teaching model in cycle I, the average score increased to 71.76 with classical learning completeness of 67.65%. In cycle II, the average score increased again to 79.12 with classical learning completeness reaching 91.18%. These results show that the application of the Quantum Teaching learning model is able to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of grade IV students of SD Inpres 3 Tondo. Thus, the Quantum Teaching model can be one of the effective learning alternatives to improve the understanding and learning outcomes of mathematics in elementary school.

Abstract

Educational digital transformation in Indonesia has expanded through distance learning, digital platforms, and technology-based assessment, yet unequal access remains a concern in archipelagic and disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions such as East Nusa Tenggara. This study aimed to synthesize evidence on the educational digital divide and examine its implications for distance learning and readiness for the digitally administered Academic Ability Test. A qualitative focused literature review analyzed 32 substantive sources selected through database and institutional-repository searches using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Structured extraction, qualitative content analysis, and thematic coding generated six overlapping themes: digital infrastructure, device access, cost and connectivity, digital literacy, school readiness, and assessment fairness. The synthesis identified recurring patterns linking unstable connectivity, electricity constraints, inadequate or shared devices, affordability barriers, uneven digital competence, and limited institutional support with restricted participation in digital learning and testing. School readiness and digital literacy were most prominent in the reviewed corpus, whereas direct evidence on assessment fairness was more limited. These findings are literature-based patterns rather than causal field estimates. Equitable digital transformation therefore requires context-sensitive infrastructure, affordable access, strengthened digital competence, school-level readiness mapping, and adaptive assessment arrangements.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model supported by the Pancasila Smart Board in Pancasila Education for third-grade students at SDN 2 Patapan. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart. The findings indicated that students' learning outcomes improved progressively through the implementation of actions in each research cycle. In the pre-cycle, only 16.67% of students achieved the learning mastery criteria. Following the implementation of the actions in Cycle I, the percentage of students achieving learning mastery increased to 45.83%. However, this result had not yet met the predetermined success indicators; therefore, improvements to the instructional actions were made based on the reflection results before proceeding to Cycle II. After implementing the revised actions in Cycle II, the percentage of students achieving learning mastery increased to 87.50%, indicating that the predetermined success indicators had been achieved. In conclusion, the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model supported by the Pancasila Smart Board effectively improved the learning outcomes of third-grade students in Pancasila Education at SDN 2 Patapan.

Abstract

Teaching mathematics on the topic of fractions remains a challenge for elementary school students because the concepts are abstract. This study aims to determine which learning medium fraction blocks or video yields higher mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of fractions. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent comparison group design. The sample consisted of 60 students selected through cluster random sampling. The sample consisted of sixth-grade students from Diponegoro Elementary School Cluster in Eromoko Subdistrict, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group used fraction blocks, while the control group used video. Data were collected using a learning achievement test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions that met validity and reliability criteria. Data analysis involved tests of normality, homogeneity, balance, and an independent samples t-test. The results of the study indicate that there is a difference in students’ mathematics learning outcomes between the group using fraction blocks and the group using video (p = 0.0145 < 0.05). The average learning outcomes of students using fraction blocks were higher than those of students using video. Thus, fraction blocks are effective for improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of fractions.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the regional song singing ability of fifth-g,rade students at SD Inpres Binangga through the integration of audiovisual media and the Card Sort method. The study was motivated by students’ low singing performance caused by conventional teaching practices, limited use of instructional media, and low learning engagement. This research employed Classroom Action Research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles with the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 12 fifth-grade students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, performance tests, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed continuous improvement in students’ singing ability across the research cycles. The average score increased from 58.3 in the pre-cycle to 72.5 in Cycle I and 84.2 in Cycle II, while classical learning mastery improved from 25% to 66.7% and finally reached 91.7%, exceeding the predetermined success criterion. The integration of audiovisual media and the Card Sort method also enhanced students’ participation, confidence, and collaborative learning. Therefore, this instructional approach is effective in improving elementary students’ regional song singing ability and can serve as an innovative strategy for music learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning interest of fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education at SDN 3 Lambara, as reflected in their limited participation, attention, and engagement during classroom learning. The study aimed to improve students' learning interest through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This study employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 28 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities and a learning interest questionnaire, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The findings demonstrated that the implementation of the PBL model effectively improved students' learning interest. Classical learning mastery increased from 33.33% in the preliminary stage to 66.66% in Cycle I and 91.66% in Cycle II. Furthermore, teacher and student learning activities improved from the good to the very good category across the research cycles. These findings indicate that the Problem-Based Learning model creates a more active, collaborative, and meaningful learning environment, thereby effectively enhancing students' learning interest in Pancasila Education among fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The low students' learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students in Civic Education, particularly on the topic of village and sub-district government, are attributed to teacher-centered instruction and the limited use of interactive learning media. This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based-Learning (PBL) model assisted by infographic media. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted at SDN 2 Patapan involving 17 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and achievement tests, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes after implementing the PBL model with infographic media. Learning mastery increased from 17% in the pre-cycle to 29% in Cycle I and reached 82% in Cycle II. The average score also improved from 54 in the pre-cycle to 60 in Cycle I and 84 in Cycle II. Furthermore, students demonstrated greater participation, enthusiasm, collaboration, and critical thinking during the learning process. Therefore, the integration of the Problem-Based-Learning model with infographic media proved effective in enhancing both the learning process and students' learning outcomes in Civic Education.
