Abstract

The rapid growth of online communication among university students has significantly increased the use of English in digital interactions. However, improper language use, lack of politeness strategies, and limited pragmatic awareness often lead to miscommunication and reduced effectiveness in online discourse. This community service program aims to enhance students’ politeness in English online communication through structured language literacy training. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, including socialization sessions, interactive workshops, practical exercises, and guided practice in real online communication contexts. The training focused on politeness strategies, appropriate language use in digital platforms, and awareness of cultural and pragmatic aspects of English communication. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of polite language expressions, increased awareness of digital communication ethics, and enhanced ability to apply polite English in online interactions. This program contributes to fostering respectful, effective, and ethical online communication among students and supports the development of digital literacy in higher education.

Abstract

The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced various aspects of daily life, including the field of education. While generative AI offers substantial benefits in enhancing creativity, learning efficiency, and access to information, its uncontrolled and unethical use may negatively affect users’ critical thinking abilities, academic integrity, and moral responsibility. This community service activity aims to increase awareness of ethical considerations and critical thinking skills through educational programs on the responsible use of generative AI. The implementation methods include educational seminars, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations on the proper, ethical, and critical use of generative AI tools in learning activities. The program targets community members and learners, emphasizing the importance of understanding both the advantages and potential risks of generative AI. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of ethical AI use, increased awareness of the limitations of generative AI, and enhanced critical thinking in evaluating AI-generated information. This activity is expected to contribute to the development of responsible, ethical, and reflective AI users, thereby supporting the improvement of learning quality in the digital era.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed learning processes by providing fast access to information, personalized learning support, and assistance in completing academic tasks. However, the improper and excessive use of AI may lead to overdependence, reduced critical thinking skills, and ethical issues in academic practices. This community service activity aims to enhance the literacy and awareness of students and educators regarding the responsible use of AI to support learning quality. The implementation methods include socialization sessions, training workshops, interactive discussions, and hands-on assistance in utilizing AI as an ethical and proportional learning support tool. The program materials cover fundamental AI concepts, opportunities and risks of AI usage in education, academic integrity, and strategies for using AI to improve learning outcomes without diminishing learner autonomy. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the appropriate functions and limitations of AI in the learning process, as well as the development of more critical and responsible attitudes toward the use of AI. This activity is expected to contribute to the creation of a healthy, ethical, and sustainable digital learning ecosystem in the era of technology-driven educational transformation.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis remains a major public health problem worldwide, including in Indonesia. Limited public knowledge regarding symptoms, transmission, prevention, and treatment adherence contributes to the high incidence and ongoing spread of tuberculosis. This community service activity aimed to improve community knowledge in understanding pulmonary tuberculosis. The method employed was direct health education and socialization conducted at Klinik Pratama Haji Pancing on November 9, 2025. A total of 20 participants were involved in this activity. Educational media included leaflets and interactive health counseling sessions. Evaluation was carried out using pretest and posttest assessments to measure participants’ knowledge levels before and after the intervention. The results showed that prior to the educational intervention, the majority of participants had poor knowledge levels (55%). Following the intervention, all participants (100%) demonstrated a good level of knowledge. These findings indicate that health education through community service activities is effective in improving public understanding of pulmonary tuberculosis. Improved knowledge is expected to encourage healthy behaviors, enhance treatment adherence, and contribute to the prevention and control of tuberculosis transmission within the community.

Abstract

Penyusunan Laporan Posisi Keuangan (Neraca) merupakan komponen penting dalam Laporan Management yang berfungsi sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan manajemen. Namun, proses penyusunan laporan tersebut di PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional 1 masih dilakukan secara manual dengan memanfaatkan data dari sistem SAP yang diolah kembali menggunakan Microsoft Excel, sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang relatif lama dan berpotensi menimbulkan kesalahan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi penyusunan Laporan Posisi Keuangan melalui implementasi Macro Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) pada Microsoft Excel yang terintegrasi dengan data SAP. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dan aplikatif melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan dan pengembangan template Macro VBA, pelatihan, serta pendampingan implementasi kepada pegawai. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa template Macro VBA berhasil mengotomatisasi proses pengelompokan akun, penyusunan format neraca, dan perhitungan komponen aset, liabilitas, serta ekuitas secara akurat dan konsisten. Implementasi sistem ini mampu mempercepat waktu penyusunan laporan, mengurangi risiko kesalahan perhitungan, serta meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pegawai dalam pemanfaatan teknologi otomasi. Dengan demikian, penerapan Macro VBA pada penyusunan Laporan Posisi Keuangan dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan efisiensi pelaporan keuangan perusahaan.

Abstract

Digital technology-based design and fabrication skills are essential for Vocational High School students, particularly in the Light Vehicle Engineering competency. Initial identification results indicate that 11th-grade students of Muhammadiyah Larangan Brebes Vocational High School do not yet have adequate experience in three-dimensional modeling and the use of 3D printing technology. This community service activity aims to provide basic assistance in the use of Autodesk Inventor and 3D printing as an effort to strengthen students' technical skills. The implementation of the activity is carried out through the delivery of introductory material, simple component modeling practice using Autodesk Inventor, an introduction to the working principles and materials of 3D printing, and assistance in the printing process of designed objects. Evaluation is carried out by comparing students' initial and final abilities and observing practical skills during the activity. The results of the activity show an increase in students' understanding of 3D design concepts, the ability to create simple component models, and basic knowledge of the three-dimensional printing process. This activity has a positive impact on improving student competencies and can support the readiness of vocational high school graduates in facing developments in manufacturing technology.
