Abstract

Banking is a service industry that depends heavily on customers’ trust in the services provided. Service quality is a key factor in business success, especially as technological advances continue to drive rapid innovation in banking products and services. Therefore, banks must consistently pay attention to customers’ needs and expectations and strive to fulfill them more effectively and satisfactorily than their competitors. Customer satisfaction represents an individual’s feelings after comparing the perceived performance of a service with their expectations. High levels of satisfaction are essential for maintaining a company’s market position, improving service effectiveness, and strengthening customer loyalty. This study aims (1) to determine the level of customer satisfaction with teller service quality at BRI Pogogul Buol Branch, and (2) to identify the factors that significantly influence satisfaction with teller services. A quantitative research method was applied using a questionnaire as the primary instrument. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of four response options scored from 1 to 4. The instrument consisted of 27 validated items adapted from earlier instruments, and its reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha, with values above 0.70 indicating acceptable reliability. The results show that overall customer satisfaction with teller service quality at BRI Pogogul Buol is at a low or dissatisfied level. Furthermore, the analysis identifies empathy as the factor that significantly influences customers’ satisfaction with teller services. The findings highlight the importance of improving interpersonal and empathetic interactions to enhance service quality and strengthen customer trust.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the accountability of public service delivery at theBatudaa Pantai Subdistrict Office, Gorontalo Regency, focusing on three key aspects:service standards, handling of nonconformities, and prioritization of user needs.Thestudy is motivated by community complaints regarding service delays, unclearprocedures, and a lack of responsiveness from public officials, which have led to adecline in public satisfaction. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, withdata collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity wasensured using triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) at the Batudaa Pantai Subdistrict Office has not been consistently applied,resulting in discrepancies between established regulations and actual practices. Although efforts have been made by public officials to address these inconsistencies,they have been hindered by limited infrastructure and facilities. Furthermore, the needsof the community have not been fully prioritized due to low responsiveness and limitedcapacity of the apparatus. In conclusion, public service accountability at the Batudaa Pantai Subdistrict Office remains suboptimal. Therefore, cesary to strengthenSOP implementation, improve complaint-handling meclnisia an enent servicedelivery more toward public needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of additional working hours (overtime) and additional workforce on project success in the construction of the BPK RI Apartment Building in Gorontalo City. The independent variables examined in this study are additional working hours (X1) and additional workforce (X2), while the dependent variable is project success (Y). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship and influence among variables. The sample consisted of 41 respondents who were workers and project executors involved in the construction of the BPK RI Apartment Building in Gorontalo City. Data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of these tests indicated that all research instruments were valid and reliable, and therefore suitable for use in this study. The results of the analysis indicate that additional working hours and additional workforce simultaneously have a significant effect on project success. This is supported by the F-test results, which show a significance value of 0.037, which is less than 0.05. Partially, the t-test results demonstrate that additional working hours (X1) have a significant effect on project success, with a significance value of 0.023 (< 0.05). Similarly, additional workforce (X2) also has a significant effect on project success, with a significance value of 0.037 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.399 indicates that the independent variables collectively explain 39.9% of the variation in project success. The remaining 60.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study explores the translation challenges and strategies employed by EFL students in the English Language Education Study Program (ELESP) at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. It adopts a quantitative descriptive design, collecting data from 38 fourth-semester students through a structured questionnaire adapted from Al-Sobh (2022). The instrument covered two key domains: ten items identifying various translation challenges and five items measuring the strategies students used to improve their translation competence. The findings reveal that students face considerable difficulties in several linguistic and cultural areas, particularly in interpreting pragmatic and semantic nuances, mastering grammatical structures, and bridging cultural gaps between the source and target languages. Despite these challenges, students actively implement a range of strategies, including intensive vocabulary learning, grammar-focused exercises, review of teacher feedback, and the application of translation skills through real-world texts. The study highlights the importance of both linguistic accuracy and cultural competence in translation training. These results provide valuable insights for enhancing translation pedagogy, particularly in EFL contexts, and offer recommendations for instructional practices to support students’ translation performance.

Abstract

Hospitals are healthcare facilities that provide comprehensive individual health services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care, as regulated by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 of 2018. Along with growing public awareness, sustainability in healthcare services has become a critical issue that must be addressed. Bone Bolango Regency has two government hospitals, namely Toto Kabila Regional Hospital and Tombulilato Regional Hospital. However, these facilities have not adequately served communities located far from the hospital areas, such as Botupingge, Suwawa, South Suwawa, East Suwawa, Central Suwawa, and Pinogu Districts. The long travel distance—approximately 35 km from East Suwawa to Toto Kabila Hospital—poses a significant barrier for residents in accessing proper healthcare services. Therefore, the development of a new hospital is necessary to support healthcare services for seven districts in Bone Bolango Regency. The proposed hospital is expected to be environmentally friendly and equipped with adequate facilities while responding to the region’s hot tropical climate. Design strategies include optimizing natural lighting, cross ventilation, and protection from solar heat and rainfall. This study employs primary and secondary data collected from various sources and previous studies, analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The collected data are then transformed into design concepts. A tropical architecture approach is applied to create a comfortable, healthy, and climate-responsive healing environment, while emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainable use of natural resources.

Abstract

A stadium is a building designed to accommodate various sports activities such as football, athletics, and badminton, requiring a strong and stable structural system. Stadium structures generally use reinforced concrete for main structural elements and steel roof trusses to support spectator stands. In steel roof design, the selection of steel profiles is crucial because it affects structural performance, load capacity, and material efficiency. This study aims to analyze and compare the performance of pipe steel profiles (Hollow Structural Section/HSS) and double channel steel profiles used in stadium stand roof structures. The comparison is based on cross-sectional area, unit weight, nominal strength, and design strength under axial compression and tension loads. The results show that the HSS76.2×4.8 profile, with a cross-sectional area of 1078.16 mm² and a weight of 8.46 kg/m, provides compressive and tensile strengths of 294.08 kN and 329.92 kN, respectively, when used as a diagonal member. The HSS127×7.9 profile, with an area of 2959.95 mm² and a weight of 23.24 kg/m, achieves compressive and tensile strengths of 868.59 kN and 905.74 kN as top and bottom members. In comparison, the 2C75×5.2 double channel profile shows a compressive strength of 326.29 kN and is prone to flexural–torsional buckling, while the 2C150×12.2 profile reaches a compressive strength of 793.44 kN. Overall, pipe steel profiles demonstrate better efficiency under axial loads due to lower weight and smaller cross-sectional area for comparable strength.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) made from gamal leaves, banana stems, and banana peels as a source of NPK on the growth of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and determine the most effective POC dose. The research was conducted in Pulubala Village, Gorontalo City, from June to August 2023, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 replications and 4 treatments: P0 (control, without POC), P1 (gamal leaf POC 120 ml + banana stem 70 ml + banana peel 100 ml), P2 (gamal leaf POC 70 ml + banana stem 100 ml + banana peel 120 ml), and P3 (gamal leaf POC 100 ml + banana stem 120 ml + banana peel 70 ml). Observed parameters included plant height, leaf count, stem diameter, and fresh weight. The results showed that POC application had a significant effect (α=5%) on plant height at 28, 35, and 42 days after planting (DAP), leaf count at 35 and 42 DAP, and fresh weight. However, it had no significant effect on stem diameter. Treatment P1 (gamal leaf 120 ml + banana stem 70 ml + banana peel 100 ml) yielded the best results in all significant parameters, with average plant height of 42.17 cm (42 DAP), leaf count of 14 leaves (42 DAP), and fresh weight of 37.77 g.

Abstract

As one of Gorontalo’s traditional handicraft products, Karawo is known to have high cultural value, the diverse patterns of Karawo embroidery are not only attractive at the local level but have also been known to foreign countries. Therefore, facilities to accommodate Karawo are needed to preserve, increase the selling value, and provide information to the public to learn about the variety of decorations and the process of making Karawo. The facility is Karawo Center, which is designed as a center for sales, production, and preservation of Karawo with a concrete metaphor architecture approach. The main concept is “The beauty of Karawo as a typical Gorontalo craft,” which will be signed with the shape of the Karawo motif itself. The concrete metaphor architecture design method is applied to the building mass and façade, with the mass order following a grid pattern that adapt to the site’s shape. Designing a Karawo Center begins with collecting primary and secondary data, which is then analyzed to produce a design concept. It is hoped that the design of this place will not only be a center for the production and sale of Karawo fabrics but also increase the craftmen’s productivity through a comfortable and functional space in addition, this design is expected to illustrate the beauty and cultural value of karawo cloth as a product of Gorontalo regional pride.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Quiz Team Technique in improving the descriptive text reading skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Tomilito. The study used a quantitative approach with a one group pre-test post-test design. The research sample consisted of 20 students in class VII-A. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that measured five reading indicators: determining the main idea, finding specific information, understanding vocabulary, analyzing text structure, and making inferences. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS. The results showed an increase in the average score of students from 45 on the pretest to 74.6 on the post-test. The hypothesis test results obtained a calculated t-value of 4.27 and a table t-value of 2.04 at a significance level of 0.05, so that the calculated t-value was greater than the table t-value. Thus, the alternative hypothesis was accepted and it can be concluded that the Quiz Team technique is effective in improving students' descriptive text reading skills. Improvements occurred in all reading indicators, especially in the ability to make inferences and find specific information. This technique has been proven to increase student activity, motivation, and cooperation during the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Lingoclip application in improving students’ listening skills at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Bone. This research employed a quantitative pre-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test to measure students’ listening comprehension before and after the treatment. A total of 26 students participated as the research sample. The treatment was conducted in four learning sessions using English songs integrated with the Lingoclip application. The findings show a significant improvement in students’ listening achievement, indicated by an increase in the total score from 1,240 in the pre-test to 1,795 in the post-test. The mean score also increased from 47.69 to 69.04, representing a remarkable improvement in listening performance. Furthermore, the result of the Paired Samples Test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the Lingoclip application had a significant positive effect on students’ listening comprehension. These findings suggest that interactive, music-based digital media can effectively enhance students’ ability to identify gist, specific information, details, and inferences. Therefore, Lingoclip can be considered an effective supplementary learning tool for improving students’ listening skills and learning engagement.
