Abstract

This study uses biblical studies and descriptive qualitative methods to describe the meaning of the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus based on Matthew 28:19-20. Through this research, it was found that in Matthew 28:19-20 there are four important points: clear authority or authority, clear goals, clear task details, and guarantees for God's inclusion. Integrating the divine and the human element in preaching the gospel is significant. Understanding and applying various contextual strategies as a manifestation of the human element can increase success in preaching the gospel, whether through centripetal or centrifugal missions. Being a disciple of Christ means being faithful to involve yourself as well as possible and full of responsibility in carrying out the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus. The mission of evangelism and discipleship today is not only the task of pastors, missionaries or evangelists, church councils, or servants of God. However, it is the duty of every believer. God enables every believer to carry out this glorious calling with perfect inclusion.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see the uniqueness of the concept of the church and the concept of the mission of the body of Christ discussed in Paul's theology. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with the aim of explaining the concept of the church as the body of Christ sourced from articles and books that discuss this concept. So that the result is that Paul discusses the concept of the body of Christ in more depth in Romans, 1 Corinthians, Colossians and Ephesians. This term is based on the concept of "many in one" which is the basis of Paul's theological doctrine of salvation. The basic concept of the body of Christ is that as the people of the New Testament God, the church itself is in Christ. The concept of the Body of Christ was only revealed to the Apostle Paul, and was marked starting from his conversion and juridically at his sending in Acts 13. Christ is the Christological center of the "people of God", namely the headship of Christ and all believers are its members. Typically, the mission in the Body of Christ Church is that Christ died, was buried and was resurrected and this good news is preached to everyone without discrimination, race, ethnicity or social status.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of the TikTok application as a medium for preaching the Gospel in the 5.0 era, with a focus on Guichun Jun's perspective. This research was conducted at the Rantetallang congregation with the aim of explaining how TikTok can be an effective tool in spreading religious messages to the congregation and the wider community. In the ever-growing digital era, social media has become a powerful platform for conveying information and influencing culture. TikTok, as a very popular social media application, offers various interesting features that allow users to create and share short videos with creative effects. In this context, it is important to understand the potential of TikTok as a tool that can be used in religious contexts. The perspective of Guichun Jun, a prominent theologian, is used as a theoretical framework in this research. Jun proposed that in the 5.0 era, where technology is increasingly integrated with everyday life, churches and religious communities need to utilize social media as a tool to expand the reach of preaching the Gospel. This study involved in-depth analysis of theological texts written by Guichun Jun, as well as field research in the Rantetallang congregation. Through interviews with congregation members and TikTok users, researchers collected data about their perceptions of using TikTok as a medium for preaching the Gospel. This research also identified several challenges that must be faced, such as content that is not in accordance with religious values and the risk of losing the deep meaning in religious messages in short video format.

Abstract

Culture makes an area unique from other areas. Indonesia is a country that has a lot of diversity, especially in terms of cultural diversity. The Toraja tribe is a tribe that has its own uniqueness, especially in death which is full of rituals. One of the rituals that is still preserved by the Toraja people, especially in Tumbang Datu District, North Sangalla, is Ma'ta'da. The Tumbang Datu community is predominantly Christian, however the Tumbang Datu community still preserves ma'ta'da rituals/customs as an ancestral heritage that must be maintained. Ma'ta'da is a ritual that is carried out once a year as a means of worshiping ancestors, paying vows, and asking for blessings from ancestors so that they will be blessed in their lives. People's belief in ancestors who are a source of help and blessings for them, is contrary to Christian teachings which state that Jesus Christ is the source of salvation and blessings for believers. The aim of this research is to reveal the meaning of ma'ta'da and its relationship with theological meaning in Christianity and to build a theological understanding of the meaning of the ma'ta'da ritual. This research uses a qualitative research method using an interview approach with local traditional leaders. Ma'ta'da is interpreted by the people of Tumbang Datu as a form of gratitude for the blessings given by the Ancestors/To Membali Puang to their family. In Christianity, blessings only come from God.

The method used in this paper is a qualitative method with a hermeneutic approach. The three points of relevance that the author found in this article are findings that strengthen the roots of the faith and spiritual life of God's people in the Catholic Church. The three points include; social solidarity, the spirit of sacrificing boundaries without the people of God in the Catholic Church and total self-surrender. The third point of relevance of God's Mission in the lives of God's people in the Catholic Church is a strengthening of the meaning and practice of a life of faith that upholds the goodness of living together (bonum Communae).

Abstract

One of the major issues faced by the global community, including in developing countries such as Indonesia, is poverty. A renowned theologian from Latin America, Gustavo Gutiérrez, developed the concept of liberation theology, which emphasizes the active role of the church in combating poverty and social injustice. The findings of this research show that Gutiérrez's liberation theology provides a strong conceptual framework for the church to act as an agent of social change in liberating the oppressed from poverty. Gutiérrez asserts that the church is not only a place of worship but also a place for supporting and advocating for the rights of the poor. In practice, liberation theology is applied in churches through various social, educational, and economic programs to address the root causes of poverty and empower impoverished communities. The conclusion of this research is that the role of the church, from the perspective of Gutiérrez's liberation theology, is crucial in the struggle to liberate the poor from the shackles of poverty. Churches that implement this theology demonstrate their success in achieving sustainable and significant social change. Therefore, this research provides important theoretical and practical contributions to the study of theology and religious practice. Theoretically, this research enriches the discourse on liberation theology and the social role of the church. Practically, this research offers guidelines for churches in developing effective programs to tackle poverty.
