Abstract

The author makes an encounter with 'the other' through interculturality in the Mamasa Toraja Church with the tradition of a family event which is defined as a once organized event, namely pambayaan ku'bu in the intercultural mission process. The author uses the thoughts of Theo Sundermeier's stating that intercultural theology can make a contribution to a society, where people have different backgrounds. The type of research used is library research or library research and the method used is a qualitative analysis of tradition and church. The results of research from tradition and church show that this pambayaan ku'bu 'event, the encounters and interactions that occur not only transcend religious relations, but also exceed life with attachments to departed ancestors

Abstract

This study aims to describe communication in preaching. In communicating, we can convey what is the intention of the speaker (communicator) to (the communicant), whether it's just to exchange ideas, share information, give advice, invitations and so on. There are many media that can be used as communication, one of which is through preaching, especially for Christians, preaching are the media or means used to convey the Word of God. But in practice, even though the preaching material has been prepared as well as possible, there are many preachers as communicators who cannot provide good communication skills; this is the main problem that hinders communication in preaching. The use of voice and gesture also plays an important role in the preaching, it must be studied because not all people who are born have the ability to communicate, so that God's Word that is delivered does not become bland and can be a blessing for the listeners

Abstract

This study aims to understand the motives for watching Christian Influencer's Word of God content on TiktTok Social Media using Uses and Gratification Theory analysis. According to Katz, Gurevitch and Haas (1973), the motives in question are based on needs that are satisfied by the media, which are discussed in one of the theories of mass communication, namely Uses & Gratification Theory, such as cognitive, affective, personal integration, social integration and tension release needs. The research subject is the audience of Brian Siawarta's Word of God content on TikTok Social Media. The research method uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with two sources who are viewers of the Word of God content of Pastor Brian Siawarta on TikTok Social media. The results showed that the motive for watching God's Word content was driven by cognitive, affective, social integration and tension release needs. Meanwhile, the need for personal integration is not the main motive to increase the credibility and confidence of the audience but adds to the credibility of Brian Siawarta as an influencer. In the study, it was found that interpersonal communication exists between communicators with audiences and fellow audiences. It was also found that there are two types of TikTok social media users, namely 1) TikTok users only as viewers of other people's content; and 2) users as well as viewers who publish content for others to see, so these two things can affect a person's personal integration motives in choosing and watching TikTok content.

Mission is an appreciation for freedom. The author uses the thoughts ofJames A Banks & McgeeBanks Cherry A and J Andew Krik incollaborating on mission and education in a multicultural context inIndonesia. . The type of research used is library research and the methodused is a qualitative analysis of the pluralistic context in Indonesia byusing both theories to analyze the problem. . What needs to be done whenhaving a mission towards pluralism is a dialogical approach to get rid ofall exclusive claims to the truth of one religious tradition.

Abstract

“Mary Magdalen: On Meeting Jesus for the First Time” is one of KhalilGibran's wonderful narratives inspired directly by the stories of Jesus’ life.Gibran's keen imagination allows him to enter the worldview of charactersnarrated by the Gospels, from the new perspective that is rarely imagined.This imagination plays an important role in the way Gibran expresses hisunique ideas about life, both through poetry and narrative. Therefore, thisarticle aims to analyze from the art, spirituality, and theologicalperspectives, the way Gibran 'brings to life' Mary Magdalene’s characterwho 'tells' the story of her encounter with Jesus. Through this narrative,Gibran communicates one important theme of the Gospel, that is love, fromthe point of view of a woman who has met Jesus.
