This research aims to describe (1) the use of a Magboard in improving English writing creativity at Kangaroo School, and (2) the benefits of Magborard in improving English writing creativity at Kangaroo School. This research was classified into Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research was Kangaroo school. In conducting the research, the Kangaroo's teachers and supervisors were invited to provide feedback to the lesson plan made. Interview also conducted with the teacher as a collaborator to gain the data about the benefits of the Magboard. The results showed that various tasks using Magboard can be conducted in observing and experimenting stages. Based on the reflection, the researcher changed and used Plan-Do-Review as the final teaching and learning procedures. In each stage, Magboard can also be implemented on various tasks. Magboard benefited as 1) being the relevant media; 2) attract the students' interest, attention and enthusiast; 3) facilitating the teacher, and 4) providing new idea for the teacher. Running online classes for grade 1 of primary school in suburban in Indonesia has become a big challenge for teacher. On one hand, teacher has to reach a target of making the students achieve specific competencies as on the national curriculum 2013. On the other hand, different level of students’ skills, and internet credit expanses are two most cases required to be concerned. After doing the second treatment on 28 students of State Primary School 2 Bogem, Kalasan, the researcher found that the appropriate media used were WhatsApp and printed assignments. The teacher conducted WhatsApp classes twice a week and sent printed assignments every fortnight. Through these two media, the parents’ companion on the students’ learning process is getting optimum.Â

Advances in technology cause a lot of damage to the environment and cultural shifts in society. This condition requires learning to integrate technology with the environment and society. Society-based industrial era 4.0 towards 5.0 studying and technology must pay attention to the preservation of nature and culture in society. The approach that fits this mandate is SETS (science, environment, technology, and society). The SETS approach can be applied in various media, methods and learning models. One of them is a science comic for junior high school that has included the SETS component in its material. This research is a qualitative descriptive study about the relationship between SETS components in junior high school science comics. The instruments in this study were data cards and operational definitions. The data in this study are in the form of words, language, pictures, and behavior that show the representation of the SETS components. The analysis results show that all SETS components have been represented in the science comics. SETS which is integrated into the learning process is expected to improve the quality of students in facing an increasingly advanced industrial era but still environmentally friendly.

This essay aims at comparing and contrasting the English and Javanese with respect to the sound inventories completed. Based on Maddieson’s research (cited in Aronoff & Ress-Miller 2003, p. 183) there are between six and 95 consonants and between three and 46 vowels in a language. While English has 24 consonants and 12 vowels (Fromkin et al. 2008, p. 216) and Javanese has 23 consonants and 6 vowels (Ager 2009; Wedhawati & Arifin 2006, p. 65). In sum, the sound the English and Javanese inventories are both similar and different in several respects to how their consonants and vowels are produced and where in the mouth they are produced. Additionally, by comparing two languages, it can be seen that some sounds exist in one language but does not exist in another.Â

In early 2020, the outbreak spread in the world. In response to this emergency condition, the world's higher education institutions have been forced to resort to e-learning and digital tools. This study was conducted to find out the students’ responses to resources and activity e-learning. The sample was composed of 37 students. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by mean score and Likert scale. Using ideal normal standards for the various data above, it can be concluded that the student response to e-learning used at the University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa can be described as follows for the student response indicator to the resources in e-learning, has 4.1 mean scores, it can be concluded that students assess resources in e-learning are considered good. Then, the activities in e-learning have a mean score of 3.8. This indicates that it is in a fair category.

The objectives of this research are (1) to develop M-Vocset for teaching English for young learner and (2) to know the benefit of M-Vocset for teaching English in Kangaroo Preschool. In this research, researcher used Research and Development (R&D) model from Borg and Gall. To simplify this research, the researcher shortened it to four stages that are: data collection and information, planning, product development and final product. Data collection technique used in this research is interview and document analysis. This research was conducted at Kangaroo Preschool with age 2-4 years old. The findings of this research are: analysis needs of students and document analysis. The result is that researcher use Holy days  as learning material to be developed. To accomplish M-Vocset, the researcher asked for input from the expert team and also the teacher there. Regarding the benefits, it is easy to use and it is to teach students how to write a sentence in English. M-Vocset develops student character regarding tolerance.

This research was to find out (1) types of code-mixing and (2) dominant code-mixing level on Pak Ndul’s YouTube video channel. Findings of this research were divided into two parts – types and levels of code-mixing. The types consist of outer and inner utterances revealing 40 and 38 of 51% and 49 % respectively. Regarding levels, the highest percentage of the code-mixing level categories is word level by 54 %, whereas baster and idiom level categories share the lowest percentage on 2.40 %.  Keywords: Code-mixing, Qualitative approach, Percentage

The goal of the Pre-service teacher program or SEA Teacher Program under the SEAMEO are for providing the experience to the partner universities in teaching internationally, improving their English skills, as well as expanding their worldwide networking and knowledge. Through the program the students require to do observation, teaching assistance, teaching, and reflection on what they experience at the pointed schools. Though the program is well established, however, some lacks are still existed. The present study aims to reflect what the four participants experience during the pre-service teacher program. The discussion of the interview and observation data is conducted under the reflective study on four points namely school and class observation, teaching assistance, teaching, and reflection.

Though Bahasa becomes the second language in Indonesia, some lower class students of primary school face difficulties in compiling sentences into short texts. The present study aims to design a SeW – Sentence Writing quartet card for assisting the Grade 2 students of primary school in making short texts. The SeW quartet card was designed by following the design thinking steps namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. This was designed by adopting the concept of quartet card game and pictoral card games which the students are familiar with. The study has not been tested to the real students, however, the product has been successfully tested to a younger child as well as the group of Grade 2 teachers in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.Keywords: design thinking, SeW quartet card, short text, Bahasa

The vocational high school graduates are required to have the competence to implement Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). This study investigated the implementation of school-based Occupational Safety and Health Management in the vocational school. The OSH implementation viewed from seven principles: curriculum management, student management, educator management, facilities and infrastructure management, funding management, school and community management, and cultural and environmental management. This study is descriptive research that used subjects from 10 public vocational schools and ten private vocational schools in Yogyakarta Province. The data obtained from the Education Report Card Mapping Report Evaluation Results of the Directorate of Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia. The findings showed that the management of OSH in private vocational schools higher than the public one. The principle of OSH for the management of students is "fairly good" both in public and private vocational schools. The teacher management in public vocational schools higher than the private one. The management of facilities and infrastructure is "fairly good" both in public and private vocational schools. The funding management in private vocational schools higher than the public one. The management of school relationships in the public vocational school is "bad" and "fairly good" in the private one. The management of culture and environment is "fairly good†both in public and private vocational schools.
